Chapter 46 - Multiple Problems

Here he was, in all his assholey glory. I hoped Cici and my mom would be fine without me for a a minute, as I didn't want them to see this. I could feel Cici was close yet also further away. My power said I could unlock even deeper connections to her, but at a higher level. That was honestly fine for now. I didn't want her to feel the things I was feeling right now, nor the things I would be feeling in a moment.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?? WHERE'S MY WIFE?" Marcus yelled as he pointed his gun at me, and I just fucking chuckled.

"Why do you sound so concerned, Marcus? Most men I know that care about their wife don't lock them in a damn cage." I said, as I stood up, the bed creaking underneath me.

As I stared at the man that used to be my father, I was both disgusted and surprised. My surprise was that, he wasn't drunk at all right now. He just got home from work, so that was to be expected. The dusgust came from his murky and blackened soul. It was so dark in fact that it reminded me of a lot of bandits and pieces of shit I had killed in the other world. While the Baron's tainted soul was worse, the fact that Marcus's wasn't that far off was disturbing beyond all measure.

Marcus pointed his gun at my head, pure rage and anger burning within his hollow eyes.

"YOU TELL ME WHERE THE FUCK SHE IS OR YOU'RE DEAD! YOU'RE DEAD ANYWAYS YOU-"

"Shut the fuck up." I said simply, but my voice carried with the weight of a city bus.

In an instant, I was standing in front of him, causing him to jump, and before he could even try to take a shot at me. I had to hold myself back a considerable amount, as I didn't want to just end him right away. I wanted him to feel the pain my mother endured before that happened. With that in mind, I smacked the gun out of his hand, and while I succeeded in holding back a lot, it still ended up with his wrist snapping backwards and slapping the top of his forearm.

He let out a surprised scream and staggered backwards, and I just let him gather himself as I stood there, watching him menacingly. I'm sure my blood red eyes added pretty well to that effect. His gaze swept up to me, a pained grimace on his face as he was finally able to get a good look at my face since I was now underneath the light. He seemed to recognize something in my face, but he wasn't quite able to place it. I decided I'd help him out.

"I'm not letting you hurt my mom anymore, you twisted piece of shit. It's all over... dad." I said, the last part strained as it now physically hurt me to refer to him as that.

As he stared at me, the impact of what I said hit him like a physical weight, and his eyes widened.

"ELIAS?!" He yelled, his eyes wide with surprise and... that disdain I'd grown tired of seeing. I was going to wipe that look off of his ugly fucking face.

Cici was livid. She can't actually remember a time when she was this mad before. She had been mad at that Baron for sure, but she was also terrified because he was an absolutely vile man, but was also very strong with a high rank. Eli had saved her, and being with him now, she felt like it gave her confidence to do the things that had to be done, just like him. She was shaking a bit after killing that man, but most of it was because of her anger. She didn't feel even the slightest bit upset that she killed that man, and she wondered if that was a good thing or not.

She had learned from this man in her grasp that they are part of local gang, and they operate in a sex trafficking business. More so, they don't sell the girls to people, they just have them held captive, and people with money pay to rape, abuse, and humiliate them as much as they want. Cici almost vomited as the man spoke, but at least she got a lot of information out of him. Honestly, the man was so terrified of her that it seemed like he dared not to tell a single lie. That was good. They apparently had killed Keith who tried to help her get away, and then kidnapped Rachel. Cici begrudgingly had to admit that it was a noble thing the guy did, even if it ended up doing nothing in the end.

Helen had ran inside of the apartment because of the noise. Cici was currently dragging the now frightened man around by the neck, and Helen was currently staring at Keith's body with a blank look on her face. She couldn't even muster the strength to scream or cry.

"Wha.... what's happening?" She mumbled as she stared at the body, and then stared at Cici, and subsequently her captive.

Cici briefly told her about what she saw when she came in, and then what this man had told her. Helen's face had paled, and she too looked like she was on the verge of being sick. She stared at this ugly piece of shit like he was... well, a piece of shit.

"What is wrong with people..." Helen mumbled as she sank to the ground, and held her head in her hands.

Cici also wondered that question. She knew that not everyone was a bad person, but both her world and this one both housed somw truly heinous individuals. Cici was furious, and she was going to do something about this. Here in this world, she felt like the god that Eli was. This man's struggles were like an ant trying to escape someone's fingers as they tried to escape. While Cici didn't care for Rachel, she wasn't going to abandon her to that kind of fate. She knew Eli wouldn't either. Not to mention, there were more girls that needed help than just her, and she wouldn't let this happen while she was here. It was her turn to save people.

Cici brought the man up to eye level, and he trembled in her grasp.

"You're going to show me where you brought her. Do you understand me?" Cici said, her voice unnaturally cold, and the man whimpered and nodded furiously.

Cici turned to Helen.

"Mama, I need to go and help them, but I don't want to leave you alone." Cici said, and pondered what to do for a moment, but then she had an idea, "Come over here please."

Cici paused, and then she smiled a fanged smile as she activated Abyssal Shift, cloaking herself, the man, and Helen in a shroud of Invisibility. Helen started, as did the man, as the ability washed over them. They could still see each other, but the ability itself felt odd when it was active, almost like a weird dark film that covered the body. It was almost slimey, in a way. She had honestly forgotten about the ability's upgraded effect. She really hadn't had a need or a reason to use her abilities as of late, but this was one of those times that called for it.

"No one will be able to see us. We don't have to worry about people seeing us." Cici said, and then turned to the man, and gave him a fanged snarl, "And you are going to show us exactly where to go, and if you make even one sound, if I even hear you breathe, you won't have a head anymore. Got it?" Cici asked, and the man almost teared up in fear as he nodded rapidly.

Cici had to admit to herself that she sounded pretty cool when she said that. Eli was really good at scaring people, and she thought the things he said were so cool... She didn't even know she had it in her... but she was just so angry that any fear or worry went out of the window. She would help these girls, and she would put these animals down.

"We're leave." Cici hissed as she began walking out of the apartment with Helen right behind her, the man in her grip not even trying to fight back anymore, "Coward."
