Chapter 46 - Colosseum and Festival (V)

Logi jumped over a fallen down shelve and into a room. He instantly rolled to the side, dodging the prophet who pounced at him like a cat.

"Surprise attack." Someone said and punched the prophet with a glowing fist as he dropped to the ground and slid across the ground to a halt.

The prophet stood back up and wiped off some blood coming out his mouth, smiling. "There you are, oh light of my life. Now you can watch as I rip your… boyfriend? Whatever! Now you can watch me as I rip off his limbs and feed him to the darkness bringer." He pounced towards her.

Captain Teddy threw a handkerchief into the prophet's face, blinding him temporarily.

Thinking that she would once more try to uppercut him, he tried to hug her with his claws ripping into her back. But instead, he got shot into the ribs with the magic blowgun of Logi. Feeling his body starting to burn alive and get ripped apart by the flames back into the 1s and 0s that make up the entire universe, he tried to extinguish the flames using his hand, but instead the flame spread onto his hand. Panicking, his tentacles ripped out the burning ribs and his now burning hand—throwing them away before they turned into ashes—and replaced them by growing into his flesh and bones. "Nice trick."

"Shit." Logi said and started to run away once more. He was trying to avoid the prophet by running between different obstacles for which the prophet was too big.

After a moment of giving chase, the prophet realised what Logi was doing and instead focused on Captain Teddy. But to ensure Logi would not interfere, he sent his tentacles to hunt him down, controlling a few corpses on top of that.

Captain Teddy rolled below the prophet as he pounced once more, kicking him into the belly, sadly doing no damage as her natural strength was even lower than Logi's.

"I should stop pouncing, you always dodge and attack me." The prophet muttered, "Let's see, what if I just walk." He straightened his back walking slightly faster than the average person towards her. His tentacles formed claws on his fingers which he used to strike at Captain Teddy. Each strike tearing through the cold stone floor and throwing dust and stone splinters into the air.

His sudden change in speed and the addition of striking at her made her lose focus, making her get hit once, twice, a third time. She barely dodged most of the blows while some grazed her fur, infesting the air with floating hairs. Her cape got ripped into a thousand tiny pieces, the console on her wrist got covered in scratches.

Logi was running in between a pile of stacked and broken furniture buried beneath rubble. Left to him, a tentacle with an eye, covered in tiny spikes, possibly poisonous. "Left? No!" He turned to look down the right. "Hm… left it is."

He dodged a strike from the tentacles coming from the right and ran away, towards the single tentacle on the left. And before it noticed him, he had ripped off the eyeball, accidentally getting stung by the spikes. Now he was in even more of a hurry because he might die if he takes too long due to being poisoned.

He put his blowgun back onto his back, not being able to fire it without hitting himself in these small and thin tunnels and corridors throughout the entirety of the rubble and furniture in the room. Instead, he extended his claws. "Fuck this, if I die, I will first kill the prophet!"

Logi jumped out of the piles of rubble, dodging one tentacle after another, trying to get close to the prophet and Captain Teddy. But for every step he got closer, they distanced themselves from him 2 steps.

Trying to impress Captain Teddy, after seeing her glance at him in panic multiple times, he made as many backflips and stunts as he was capable of. A backflip over a handful of tentacles here, cutting them up in the process, then a frontflip over another handful over there, before landing on the and crushing them beneath his weight—which was surprisingly high enough to do so.

Then the adrenaline kicked in again and his heart started to beat with record speed. His concentration got more and more focused on all the different single tentacles instead of seeing them as one big entity which made it easier to dodge them and destroy them.

"Faster!" He yelled in excitement. Now, for every step they distanced themselves, he got 2 steps closer. "Faster!" Now 3 steps closer, "Even faster!" And then, in the midst of his backflip, right in front of his eyes, the neck of the prophet, the spot from which thousands of tentacles sprouted at once, controlling all the corpses throughout the entire citadel. "Got you!" He tried to cut through them, but they were too thick and he flew against the prophet's back instead. A few hundred were cut off, but most remained.

Captain Teddy noticed the prophet's pained expression. "Again!" She screamed at Logi, "He doesn't seem to like that very much."

The prophet got faster as well, and more tentacles started to sprout, trying to attack Logi who was still laying on the ground.

"Use your gun!" She screamed.

Logi dodged a strike of the tentacles by rolling to the side. "Right. Good thinking!" He grabbed his blowgun and shot angrily and as hard as his lungs would allow him at the neck of the prophet.

The prophet tried to place his hands in front of his neck, but the flames just tore through them and all the tentacles throughout the citadel dropped dead, burning away into thin air. The prophet screamed in pain, his tentacles had no change to regenerate but still were able to hold the flames at bay. His hands on the other hand were gone and the flames did not seem to have spread onto them.

An ear piercing scream escaped his lips and he hurried off into the darkness of the colosseum as Logi hurried towards Captain Teddy, checking if she was okay.
