The late morning sun cast a warm glow across the Hyoudou Mansion's lake, the water shimmering like glass as the breeze rippled across its surface. Birds skimmed low, their wings brushing the reflection of the sky, and the peaceful atmosphere stood in sharp contrast to the chaos of just a few days ago.
On the shore, five figures sat on folding stools with fishing poles in hand.
Issei leaned back, his pole balanced lazily, his eyes half-lidded as he breathed in the calm air. Beside him, Natsu sat cross-legged, his line bobbing uselessly in the water.
"Fishing's boring," Natsu grumbled, tugging at the rod impatiently. "Why can't we just catch it with our hands? Or set the lake on fire and grab what floats up?"
"Because then there'd be nothing left to eat," Gray deadpanned, lounging a few seats down. His own line was steady, his expression the picture of patience. "Fishing's supposed to teach you to be calm."
Natsu growled. "I am calm!"
"Sure you are," Gray muttered, smirking.
"Calm down, both of you," Issei chuckled, though his eyes stayed on the water. "You'll scare the fish away. This is supposed to be for us to relax."
Happy fluttered above them, landing on Natsu's head with a pout. "Aye, you'll definitely scare them away, Natsu. And I'm hungry too…"
"We just ate." Issei said.
At the far end, Gorou Hyoudou adjusted his cap, his posture relaxed, his rod held with practiced ease. He cast the boyish squabbles a sideways glance, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
While the men fished, the women gathered a short distance away beneath the shade of the veranda. Their voices carried faintly across the lake's surface.
Lucy sat in the middle, her cheeks burning red as she recounted the story of Natsu's "marriage proposal" in the guild's medical wing. "And then… and then he just said it! In front of everyone!" Her hands flailed as she buried her face in them. "I didn't know what to do! I mean—who does that?!"
Erza's lips curved faintly, her arms folded across her armor. "It was certainly bold of him. Uncharacteristically so."
Mirajane giggled, her hands clasped. "It was romantic! Don't you see? It's not every day someone proposes so directly!"
Tamamo tilted her head, her tails swaying as she smirked. "Honestly, I like his spirit. Boldness is attractive in a man."
"Boldness?!" Lucy sputtered, her face crimson. "It was reckless! He doesn't even know what marriage means!"
Yuuka snorted. "Sounds just like him. Still… you can't deny he meant it. Guys like that don't play around."
Matsu pushed her glasses up, eyes gleaming. "From a probability standpoint, his timing was atrocious. But… it does show his intent is genuine."
Uzume leaned in with a mischievous grin. "So? You gonna say yes next time, blondie?"
Lucy choked, flailing. "W-What?! No! I mean—I don't know! Argh!"
The laughter of the women echoed softly as Lucy groaned into her hands. Beside them, Miki Hyoudou smiled warmly, her voice calm and knowing. "You're overthinking it, dear. Marriage isn't about perfect timing or knowing all the answers. It's about love, trust, and walking forward together, even if you're scared. If you truly care for him… then maybe the question isn't why he asked. It's whether you're ready to take that step with him."
Lucy blinked at her, her heart racing as Miki's words sank in. 'Ready… to take that step? With Natsu?'
—---------------------------
Meanwhile, laughter rang out by the lakeshore.
"So let me get this straight," Issei said, chuckling. "You just dropped the big 'we should get married' bomb right there in front of everyone?"
"Yep!" Natsu grinned, unashamed. "What's wrong with that?"
Gray dragged a hand down his face. "Everything. Absolutely everything."
Issei shook his head, amused. "No wonder Lucy froze up. That's a lot to take in all at once."
Natsu frowned, scratching at his bandaged arm. "But… why didn't she just say yes? I meant it."
Happy hopped down onto his shoulder, eyes wide. "Aye, but you didn't even give her time to think! Lucy almost fainted!"
Natsu pouted. "I don't get it…"
Issei leaned back, arms crossed. "It's not that simple, man. Girls want romance. Timing. A little build-up, you know? You can't just throw it at them like a fireball."
"Exactly," Gray said flatly. "You're as clueless about girls as you are about fishing."
"Shut up, ice brain!" Natsu shot back, sparks flying between them.
Before they could start bickering, Gorou cleared his throat, his deep voice cutting through the noise. "Boys."
All three froze.
Gorou reeled in his line slowly, his calm eyes shifting toward Natsu. "You want to know why she didn't answer you?"
Natsu leaned forward eagerly. "Yeah!"
"Because," Gorou said simply, "when you propose to a woman, you're not just speaking to her. You're speaking to her heart, her fears, and her dreams. You have to show her you understand all of it. That you're ready to stand by her side, not just because you want to, but because she needs you to."
Natsu blinked, his mouth hanging open. Even Gray stayed silent, clearly impressed by the weight of Gorou's words.
Issei rubbed the back of his neck, smiling sheepishly. "Dang, Dad… you make it sound so easy."
Gorou chuckled. "It's never easy. But that's the point."
Natsu sat back, thoughtful for once, his fishing rod forgotten. "So… I just gotta show her that I'll always be there for her? No matter what?"
"That's a good start," Gorou said, adjusting his cap with a faint smile. "The rest… you'll figure out along the way."
For a rare moment, Natsu didn't argue. He just sat quietly, watching the lake.
But then the calm morning over the lake was broken by Mirajane's voice, cheerful yet carrying that tone she used when she remembered something important. "I almost forgot," She said, clapping her hands together. "Our probation period is officially over. That means we can start taking quests again."
That single sentence made every head whip toward her.
"Quests?" Matsu's eyes gleamed behind her glasses. "You mean we can finally continue adventuring? Earn some actual money again and collect materials?"
Yuuka smirked, ready to use her revolvers. "About damn time."
Even Gray perked up, crossing his arms. "Good. Sitting around was starting to get boring."
Uzume practically bounced on her seat. "Finally! We've been cooped up too long."
"I'm getting fired up." Natsu says at the thought of going on more adventures with Issei also wanting to go.
The mood shifted instantly, like a spark of excitement had reignited. But just as quickly, Lucy and Miya both frowned, their gazes falling squarely on the two idiots at the center of it all.
"Hold it right there." Lucy crossed her arms, her voice sharp. "You two are still injured."
Miya jabbed a finger toward Issei, her glare like ice. "Exactly. There's no way you're running off on some dangerous quest when you're still recovering from nearly getting roasted alive."
Issei blinked, tilting his head. Natsu mirrored him, equally confused. Then, without a word, both boys stood up.
In perfect unison, they grabbed the edges of their bandages and tore them away.
The room went silent.
Instead of battered, half-broken bodies, what everyone saw was skin that had almost completely healed—scarred faintly here and there, but nothing like the state they had been in days ago.
Natsu grinned, flexing his arm. "See? Totally fine!"
Issei rotated his shoulder with a sheepish grin. "Guess our recovery's faster than normal."
The girls stared in disbelief.
Matsu's glasses slid down her nose. "That level of recovery shouldn't even be possible."
Akitsu blinked, ice crystals forming briefly at her fingertips as if her body instinctively reacted. "…Are they even human?"
Tamamo narrowed her golden eyes, her tails flicking in irritation. "Sometimes, Darling… I wonder."
Sakura gasped, bouncing up and down beside Kuromaro. "Papa's amazing! And Natsu too!"
The two idiots basked in the praise while the women shook their heads in exasperation.
Erza, however, chose this moment to step forward, her tone as authoritative as ever. "Enough about that. Natsu. Gray. Lucy. Happy."
All four blinked at her, surprised by the sudden firmness in her voice.
"I've been observing that we are starting to become quite the team and have become very coordinated in our fights." She continued. "With everything that has happened I have decided when taking on quests. That it's time to make that arrangement official."
Gray frowned, rubbing the back of his neck. "Tch. Teaming up with flame-brain all the time? Not sure I'm up for that."
"Yeah!" Natsu barked, scowling. "I don't wanna team up with ice-stripper either!"
The tension lasted exactly two seconds before Erza's glare silenced both of them. "You don't have a choice."
Natsu froze. "Y-yes ma'am…"
Gray sighed, shoulders slumping. "Figures."
Mirajane beamed, clapping her hands again. "Congratulations! Now that your team is official, there's just one last step."
Issei tilted his head, confused. "Uh… what step?"
Mirajane's eyes sparkled. "You need a name."
"A… name?" Issei blinked, scratching his cheek. "Wait, hold on. What's this about?"
Mirajane explained patiently, "Within Fairy Tail, smaller groups of mages who take on difficult quests often band together as teams. To distinguish themselves, they choose team names. It's a tradition."
"Just like Levy-sensei!" Sakura piped up, proud of herself. "She told me about Shadow Gear!"
"Exactly!" Mirajane praised her with a warm smile.
Issei leaned back, arms crossed. 'A team name, huh…? 'He looked to his wives, then back at the Fairy Tail members. "Guess that means we need one too." He turned to his harem, curious. "What do you all think? Any ideas?"
Before anyone else could answer, Sakura's little hand shot up. "I know! I know!"
Issei smiled softly. "Alright, Sakura. Let's hear it."
The little girl puffed her chest proudly, her eyes sparkling. "Dragon Heart! Because Papa's a dragon with a big heart!"
The room stilled for a moment. Then, slowly, smiles spread across every face.
"That's… not bad at all," Uzume admitted, grinning.
"Fitting, too," Yuuka agreed, though her tone was still begrudging.
Matsu adjusted her glasses, nodding. "Simple, symbolic, and statistically memorable. I approve."
Karasuba smirked, resting her chin in her hand. "Heh. It suits you, Issei."
Even Erza gave a firm nod. "It's a strong name. Worthy of a team."
Issei grinned wide, pride swelling in his chest. He ruffled Sakura's hair, his voice warm. "Alright then. From this moment on, we're Dragon Heart."
"YAAAY!" Sakura squealed, throwing her hands up as Kuromaro flapped his wings beside her.
Everyone chuckled, the tension melting away. For a brief moment, the chaos and battles of the past week felt far away, replaced by warmth, laughter, and the promise of new adventures on the horizon.
—--------------------------
The Hyoudou Mansion's living room was filled with the quiet hum of conversation, the clinking of teacups, and the occasional rustle of Sakura's laughter as she played with her magic, showing the rest with the others congratulating her. The enormous couches faced one another, everyone gathered in the warm glow of the afternoon sun spilling through the tall windows.
Issei leaned back with a sigh, stretching his still-recovering arm, surrounded by his wives, his parents, and the soft yet restless energy that always followed them after a big decision.
"So…" Issei started, rubbing the back of his head. "Now that Fairy Tail's guys are gone… What do we do next? We've got the house. But… what's next?"
The room fell into a thoughtful silence.
It was Misuki who spoke first, her voice steady, though there was a note of longing in it. "I… would like to return to our world eventually. To finish my store and we can't stay here forever." Her gaze softened as she folded her hands on her lap. "We must eventually return to our true lives."
Her words carried weight, drawing nods from a few of the others.
But then Matsu, perched casually on the arm of the couch with her ever-present grin, chimed in. "And I, for one, would like to get my hands on more material from this world. The metals, the gems, the tools—there's no telling what I could create with them! Oh, the possibilities!" Her glasses gleamed as she clasped her hands together in excitement. "I'm already planning several machines to automate phone production so I don't have to manually build every unit. Efficiency, my dear family, efficiency!"
Uzume, who had been lounging with her legs tucked under her, rolled her eyes. "Efficiency, huh? Well, while Issei was out cold, I finished making all the clothes for the store." She smirked, flicking her veil proudly. "Every last piece. So the store's stocked and ready when we go back."
"Good work, Uzume," Misuki praised warmly. Then her gaze shifted toward Matsu, narrowing with suspicion. "You, on the other hand…"
Matsu froze, her smug grin faltering as Misuki's glare pinned her.
"…You were goofing off all the time?" Misuki's tone was deceptively sweet.
Matsu adjusted her glasses defensively, puffing her cheeks. "I was training. And now I'm 100% more efficient than before! Think of it as a long-term investment. Besides, without my inventions and help, you'd all still be carrying swords and clothes around like pack mules!"
A few chuckles rippled through the group, though Issei hid his snicker.
Matsu pushed on, turning serious for once. "That reminds me, every time we're out on a quest and find something interesting, we should collect it and bring it back here. Anything unusual—minerals, scraps, magical tools. I can turn them into something useful for all of us."
Her glasses caught the sunlight as she leaned forward, eyes sharp. "Imagine it: this mansion filled with treasures and tech from across dimensions. A home and a workshop all in one."
Issei exhaled, scratching his cheek. "Guess that makes sense. Though… feels like you're turning us into your scavenger crew."
Most of the girls nodded with reluctant agreement, though not a single one looked thrilled about it.
Matsu only smirked wider. "Exactly."
Issei laughed. "Well, I don't mind. As long as everyone's comfortable, I'm fine staying here for as long as you want."
Both his parents shared a glance. Miki rested her chin on her hand thoughtfully, while Gorou leaned back, arms crossed.
"We don't mind either," Gorou said finally. "This place is peaceful. But…" He paused, his eyes narrowing in thought. "Eventually, it'd be good to go back. To return to our everyday lives to remind ourselves of where we came from."
Miki nodded softly. "And for Sakura. I don't want her to forget to have a normal childhood."
That was when Tamamo spoke, her golden eyes glinting with quiet concern. "On that note… I worry about her education. She's bright—too bright to be left without proper schooling. Staying here indefinitely means she may fall behind." She reached out to brush Sakura's hair fondly as the little girl laughed in the corner. "She deserves stability. Lessons. Friends her age."
Her words hung in the air, heavy but true.
Sakura, hearing her name, looked up curiously from where she let her body on fire for some reason, they would worry but she seemed fine. "Mama?"
Tamamo's smile softened. "Nothing, my little fox. Just… thinking about your future."
The group exchanged glances. Everyone had their own reasons—some longing for home, some yearning to explore, some content to remain here in this strange, magical land.
In the end, Miya's calm voice broke the silence. "For now… we stay. We've built this house together. It's a place of rest, a place to gather our strength. There's no need to rush. When the time comes, we'll return."
There were murmurs of agreement, nods from each of them.
Issei leaned back, smiling faintly as he glanced at Sakura's beaming face, then at the women around him who filled his life with chaos and love.
"Alright then," he said. "We'll stay a bit longer." Issei stretched, leaning forward on the couch, elbows on his knees. "But if we're staying here for a while longer, we should do something useful. Sitting around all day won't do us any good." His gaze swept across his family, his tone softening. "So… tomorrow, let's head to the guild and look for a quest."
That instantly caught everyone's attention.
"A quest, huh?" Yuuka's lips curved into a small smirk, her fingers idly tracing the grip of one of her revolvers at her hip. "Finally. I've been itching for some action. Count me in."
"I'll go too," Yashima said, her calm voice steady as her large hammer rested against her shoulder. "My training won't mean much if I don't put it into practice."
Uzume twirled a lock of hair around her finger, her veil fluttering like it had a life of its own. "Can't let you all have fun without me. I'll be there."
Karasuba leaned forward, her smile sharp, almost predatory. "Heh. You couldn't keep me away even if you tried. A quest means a fight, and a fight means fun."
Issei gave her a nervous chuckle. "Let's… keep it fun without too much blood, alright?"
Karasuba just laughed.
Akitsu spoke next, her voice soft but resolute. "I will come too. Ice-Make needs more… testing." Her pale eyes met Issei's briefly, and he nodded back, recognizing the quiet determination there.
It was clear who would be coming. Everyone's gaze drifted naturally toward Miya and Tamamo, both serene as they sipped tea. They didn't need to say anything—everyone knew they would be staying behind. Miya's role as a true housewife of the household, and Tamamo's need to watch over Sakura, made their choice obvious.
But when the group turned to Matsu, she adjusted her glasses, smirk already tugging at her lips. "Not me. This time, I'll be staying here."
Issei raised a brow. "Oh? You sure?"
Matsu leaned back, folding her arms with smug satisfaction. "Absolutely. I finally have uninterrupted time to focus on my inventions. All this fighting and traveling is slowing down my progress. If I can refine the designs I've got in my head, I can create machines to automate half the work I've been doing."
Misuki arched a brow at her from across the room. "So you're actually being responsible this time?"
Matsu puffed her cheeks indignantly. "I'm always responsible! Just in… creative ways."
Uzume laughed, shaking her head. "Sure, sure. Just don't blow the house up while we're gone."
Matsu waved her hand dismissively. "Please. I've only done that once."
"Twice. You did that two times while Issei was resting." Yuuka corrected sharply.
Matsu pushed up her glasses, her eyes gleaming. "And both times, it was progress."
Issei chuckled and held up his hands before the argument could escalate. "Alright, alright. Matsu stays. That's fine. With Kuromaru taking us everywhere, travel won't be a problem anyway. He's faster than any cart or ship, and way more reliable."
At the mention of his name, the black wyvern lifted his head from where he had been lounging and allowed his head to enter from the window, letting out a deep rumble as if in agreement.
Sakura, who had been playing, perked up. "Papa's team will fly across the sky! Just like dragons!" She spread her arms wide and laughed, making Kuromaru lower his massive head so she could climb onto it.
Her words filled the room with a warmth that eased the tension.
Issei stood, stretching again. "Alright then. Tomorrow, we head to the guild. For now, let's get ready and pack. Who knows what kind of quest we'll run into."
The girls all nodded, each already turning their thoughts toward preparation, the mansion filled with the quiet bustle of a family readying themselves for adventure, each member moving with purpose.
—----------------------------------
Night
Issei was sitting on the edge of his bed in his night clothes, his eyes scanning the empty room. The clock ticked away the seconds, each one echoing in the silence. He had expected his harem to be gathered around him by now, eager to join him to sleep.
But the room remained empty, save for the soft glow of the moon filtering through the window. He sighed, running a hand through his spiky brown hair. "Where are they?" He muttered to himself, his voice barely above a whisper.
Just as he was about to go to sleep, the door to his room creaked open.
In walked Tamamo, his fox wife, her yellow eyes gleaming in the dim light. She was dressed in her usual blue kimono, her pink twintails swaying gently as she moved with her three tails moved behind her. "Tamamo," Issei said, a smile spreading across his face. "I thought I'd be sleeping alone tonight."
Tamamo's smile was enigmatic, her eyes never leaving Issei's. "The others won't be joining us tonight, Issei," she said, her voice a soft purr.
"Really did something happen?" Issei asked with confusion on his face.
"Lets just say that me and the girls finally reached an agreement and tonight will just be me and you."' Before Issei could respond, Tamamo's kimono began to shimmer, and with a wave of her hand, it disappeared, leaving her standing before him in nothing but her natural form.

-Lemon-
Issei's eyes were completely fixated on her perfect bouncing oppai.
She stepped closer, her eyes locked onto his. "Tonight, Issei, you're all mine." She whispered, her breath hot on his ear. As she leaned in to kiss him, Issei felt a shiver run down his spine. He knew this was going to be a night he wouldn't forget.
As Tamamo began to undress him, Issei decided to help as his hands reached for his shirt, pulling it up with his eyes never leaving Tamamo's. The anticipation was palpable, the air thick with desire. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, matching the rhythm of the pulse between his legs.
Tamamo's breath hitched as Issei's shirt fell, revealing his toned chest. She reached out, her fingers tracing the lines of his muscles, her touch sending shivers down his spine.
Tamamo's hands moved to his boxers, her eyes locked onto his. Issei's breath hitched as she pushed his boxers down. He stood before her, naked and vulnerable, his manhood hard and ready. Tamamo smiled, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
She stepped closer, her body pressing against his. Issei could feel the heat of her skin, the softness of her curves. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close, his hands roaming over her back. Tamamo's hands moved to his chest, her fingers tracing the lines of his muscles. She leaned in, her lips finding his in a passionate kiss. Issei could taste her, the sweetness of her lips, the heat of her breath.
Issei's hands continued to roam over Tamamo's body, tracing the curves of her back, the softness of her hips. He could feel her skin, warm and inviting, under his touch. Tamamo's breath hitched as his fingers found the small of her back, her body arching slightly to press against him.
Issei's mouth found the sensitive spot behind her ear, his tongue tracing the edge of her earlobe. Tamamo's breath hitched again, a soft moan escaping her lips. Issei smiled, his hands moving to her breasts, cupping them gently. He could feel her nipples hardening under his touch, her body pressing against his. He leaned in, his lips finding hers in a slow, sensual kiss.
Their tongues danced together, exploring each other's mouths. Issei's hands moved lower, his fingers finding her clit. He stroked her gently, his fingers moving in slow, deliberate circles. Tamamo's hips moved with his touch, her body aching for more. Issei could feel her desire, her need. He knew what she wanted, what she needed. He would give it to her, willingly.
He positioned himself between her legs, his body covering hers. He could feel her heat, the wetness between her legs. He leaned in, his lips finding hers in another passionate kiss. Tamamo's hands moved to his back, her nails digging into his skin. Issei could feel the tension building, the heat in his body. He knew he wouldn't last much longer. He pulled away from their kiss, his eyes locked onto hers.
But then Tamamo surprised him as she went lower to the point where Tamamo's lips found Issei's rod, her tongue tracing the length of it, a soft moan escaping her as she tasted him. She looked up at him, her yellow eyes gleaming with desire and mischief.
Issei's breath hitched, his hands reaching down to tangle and pet her pink long hair. Tamamo smiled, her mouth opening wider as she took him in, her tongue swirling around the head, her lips sucking gently.
Issei's hips bucked, a low groan escaping him as pleasure coursed through his body. Tamamo's hands moved to his hips, her fingers digging into his skin as she took him deeper, her head bobbing in rhythm with her mouth. She could feel him growing harder and pulsing, his breath coming in short gasps. She knew he was close, and she wanted to give him more.
Tamamo released him with a pop, her breath coming in soft pants. She looked up at him, her eyes filled with lust. As Issei brought her up and hugged her.
"Tamamo," He whispered, his voice a low growl. "I want you so much."
Tamamo's eyes fluttered open, her gaze locking onto his. "Take me, Issei," She whispered, her voice a soft plea. "Make me yours."
Issei nodded, his body tensing. He positioned himself at her entrance, his eyes locked onto hers. He pushed in slowly, her tightness enveloping him. Tamamo gasped, her body arching off the bed. Issei paused, giving her time to adjust.
She looked up at him, her eyes filled with desire. "More," She whispered, her voice a soft plea. Issei smiled, pulling out slowly before pushing back in, deeper this time. Tamamo's body moved with his. Her hips meeting his thrusts. The room filled with the sound of their bodies coming together, the soft moans and gasps of pleasure.
He looked down at Tamamo, her eyes closed, her mouth open in a silent cry of pleasure.
Issei began to push faster, as her body was tightly enveloping him. Tamamo gasped, her body arching off the bed.
Tamamo's body continued to be pounded by his. The room filled with the sound of their bodies coming together, the soft moans and gasps of pleasure. Issei could feel the tension building, the heat in his body. He knew he wouldn't last much longer. He looked down at Tamamo, her eyes closed, her mouth open in a silent cry of pleasure.
Issei then took out his manhood, much to the displeasure of Tamamo. But before she could protest he then pushed her on all fours and before she could think Issei started to take her from behind as he continued to pound into Tamamo. The sensation was intense as he could feel every inch of her, the way her body moved with his, the way she met his thrusts with a soft moan. He loved this position, the way he could feel her body arching beneath him. He reached around, his hands and fingers finding her breasts, rubbing it gently as he continued to thrust.
Tamamo's hands were no longer able to support herself, her body trembling with each thrust. She leaned forward, her hands gripping the sheets tightly as Issei continued to pound into her. Her body was on fire, the pleasure building with each thrust. She could feel her orgasm approaching, the tension in her body coiling tighter and tighter.
"Tamamo" He whispered, his voice a low growl. "I'm close." Tamamo's eyes fluttered open, her gaze locking onto his. "Come with me." She whispered, her voice a soft plea. Issei nodded, his body tensing. He pushed into her one last time, his body shuddering as he came, his seed filling her.
Tamamo's body convulsed, her own orgasm ripping through her. She cried out, her body arching off the bed. Issei collapsed on top of her, his body spent. He could feel her heartbeat, the softness of her breath against his skin. He rolled off her, pulling her close, his arms wrapping around her.
"You're mine, Tamamo," He whispered, his voice a soft purr.
"Always." Tamamo smiled, her head resting on his chest. And with that, they drifted off to sleep, their bodies entwined, their hearts beating as one.

The Next Day
The morning light streamed through the tall windows of the Hyoudou Mansion, painting the dining room in soft warmth. The long table was full again, bowls clinking and voices mingling as everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast.
Issei sat at the head of the table, Sakura happily munching her rice beside him. Across from them, the rest of the family dug in as if nothing was unusual—at least on the surface.
But if one paid closer attention, the mood carried subtle cracks.
Tamamo floated between the table and the kitchen, tails swaying with unusual energy. She hummed a tune from the Fairy Tail guild's tavern, her steps light, her pink hair shimmering more than usual in the sunlight. Her ears twitched happily, and her smile never seemed to fade.
"Mama Tamamo looks shiny today," Sakura piped up suddenly, her chopsticks pausing mid-bite. Her purple eyes blinked curiously as she tilted her head. "Why does Mama look so… so sparkly?"
The question froze the room for half a heartbeat.
Yuuka was the first to mutter, stabbing at her fish with unnecessary force. "Tch. Because some of us have to wait our turn until everyone else is done hogging him."
Issei nearly choked on his rice. "Pfft—Yuuka!"
Several of the other girls exchanged glances before smirks and chuckles broke out.
Uzume leaned over with a wicked grin. "It's because your papa worshipped her properly last night, Sakura."
Karasuba added, her tone sharp and teasing. "More like he broke her in. No wonder she's glowing."
Matsu adjusted her glasses, eyes glinting with mischief. "Actually, considering the acoustics of this mansion, I estimate she reached a decibel level that shook at least two supporting beams."
"MATSU!" Issei spluttered, his face red as he slammed his chopsticks down.
Akitsu's pale cheeks tinged pink as she said softly, "It was… loud."
Sakura blinked innocently, none the wiser. "Loud? Did Papa and Mama Tamamo sing songs together?"
Tamamo's tails fluffed up, her cheeks glowing with embarrassment even as her lips curved into a playful smile. "Something like that, my little fox."
Sakura nodded seriously, still confused but too focused on her breakfast to question further.
Across the table, Miki sighed, her expression fond but exasperated as she waved her hand to quiet the teasing. "Alright, enough of that. Sakura's still a child." She turned gently toward the girl. "Your papa simply made your mama very happy, sweetheart. You'll understand what that means when you're older."
Sakura blinked at her grandmother, then nodded slowly, though her little brows furrowed in thought. "…Okay."
Satisfied with that answer, she returned to her rice, humming a little tune of her own.
Issei, meanwhile, buried his face in his hands, groaning. 'Gods, why does this always happen at the breakfast table?'
But as he peeked through his fingers, he caught Tamamo's golden eyes shimmering with warmth as she set a fresh plate before him. Her hum never faltered, her tails swayed like silk in the morning light.
And despite his embarrassment, Issei couldn't help but smile. 'Well… at least she's happy.'
—------------------------------------------------------
The morning air was crisp, the sky painted a soft blue as clouds drifted lazily across it. Outside the Hyoudou Mansion, the black wyvern Kuromaru crouched low, its great wings half-unfurled as it waited patiently.
Issei adjusted the strap of his pack and looked around at the group ready to depart. Uzume, Yuuka, Karasuba, Akitsu, and Yashima stood beside him, weapons and gear prepared, each exuding their own kind of restless energy. Today was their first official outing to the guild as a questing party, and though they didn't say it out loud, each of them carried anticipation in their eyes.
"Hopefully it's something exciting," Issei muttered, scratching his cheek. "It's been a while since we did proper adventuring instead of, y'know, accidentally setting entire forests on fire."
Yuuka smirked. "Let's not make a habit of that."
Karasuba chuckled, her sword gleaming faintly in the light. "Speak for yourself. If the quest isn't bloody enough, I'll get bored."
Uzume rolled her eyes, flicking her veil over her shoulder. "You'd get bored no matter what."
Akitsu said nothing, but the faint cold air surrounding her seemed to thrum with resolve. Yashima hefted her hammer onto her shoulder, her steady expression unshaken. "Whatever the guild throws at us, we'll handle it."
Inside the mansion, the rest of the household had gathered to see them off.
"Papa! I want to come too!" Sakura pouted, tugging at Issei's sleeve with both hands. Her little cheeks puffed out, her golden eyes shimmering with protest.
Issei crouched, brushing her hair gently. "Not this time, sweetheart. It might be dangerous."
"But I can help! I learned fire and letters!" She protested, flames flickering faintly in her tiny palm.
Tamamo swept in gracefully, her tails curling around Sakura as she knelt beside her. "No, my little fox. You must wait a bit longer. Your time will come, but for now… stay with Mama. We'll practice more magic together."
Sakura's lips trembled, but at Tamamo's soft smile she finally nodded reluctantly. "…Okay. But you have to come back safe, Papa!"
Issei smiled warmly and kissed her forehead. "Promise."
He stood, ready to climb onto Kuromaru—only to be stopped by three figures stepping forward.
"Wait," Tamamo said sweetly, her golden eyes narrowing.
"Don't think you're leaving just like that," Miya added.
"And don't forget me," Matsu chimed in, adjusting her glasses with a grin.
Before Issei could even react, the three women closed in.
"What's—" was all he managed before Tamamo grabbed his collar, pulling him into a deep kiss that left his head spinning. Miya followed immediately after, her lips soft but carrying a silent warning in the way her aura of death pressed faintly against him. Then Matsu leaned in with a mischievous smirk, claiming his mouth with surprising fervor, making him stumble back slightly.
When they finally let him go, Issei was left flushed, breathless, and wide-eyed.
Behind him, Yuuka groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Are you three done?"
Uzume whistled low, clearly entertained. "Guess that's what happens when you're the husband of ten women."
Karasuba leaned against Kuromaru's side, her grin sharp. "Hurry it up, Ashikabi. You can kiss them all night when we get back."
Akitsu tilted her head, her voice calm as ever. "We should leave now to arrive home faster."
Yashima surprisingly was brimming with excitement. "Come on, let's go."
Issei rubbed his lips awkwardly, coughing into his hand as he tried to regain composure. "Y-yeah, alright. Let's move."
He turned back toward the mansion one last time. His parents stood there, calm and steady.
"Be careful out there," Miki said warmly, her hands folded in front of her.
"Bring everyone back safe," Gorou added firmly, his sharp eyes lingering on his son.
Misuki gave a small smile, though there was worry behind it. "And don't forget—you promised we'd go back to the store one day."
Issei nodded, feeling the weight of all their expectations on his shoulders. "I'll keep that promise. Don't worry."
With that, he climbed onto Kuromaru's back. Uzume, Yuuka, Karasuba, Akitsu, and Yashima followed, settling into their spots as the wyvern spread its great wings.
"Alright, buddy," Issei said, patting Kuromaru's neck. "Take us to the guild."
With a powerful beat of his wings, Kuromaru launched into the sky. The wind rushed past, carrying them higher, the mansion shrinking below.
From the ground, Tamamo, Miya, Matsu, Sakura, Miki, Gorou, and Misuki all waved goodbye, their voices carrying faintly upward.
"Come back safe!"
"Don't do anything reckless!"
"We'll be waiting!"
And as the wyvern soared into the morning light, Issei turned his head just enough to catch one last glimpse of his family below. He smiled happily at the family he formed.
—--------------------------------------
Magnolia, Fairy Tail
The sun was high overhead by the time Kuromaru descended upon Magnolia, his massive wings stirring up a wind that rattled shop signs and sent townsfolk ducking their heads. The wyvern landed smoothly near the guildhall, his black scales glistening in the light.
Issei hopped down first, offering a hand for the girls as they dismounted one by one. He turned, his eyes widening as he got his first good look at the building before them.
"Whoa…" he muttered.
Two weeks ago, Fairy Tail's guildhall had been a complete wreck, nearly flattened after their brawls and chaos. But now? The hall stood tall again, polished and grand. The walls gleamed with fresh wood, the windows sparkled, and a new Fairy Tail emblem adorned the doors with pride. It was like stepping into a completely different place.
"Guess they don't waste time fixing their home," Yuuka remarked, her arms crossed as she eyed the craftsmanship.
"They wouldn't," Yashima said firmly. "This place was really special for them."
Karasuba smirked. "Hah. Maybe we should hire their carpenters for our place. They work fast."
Issei chuckled and pushed the doors open, leading Dragon Heart into the guild.
The familiar din of voices, laughter, and clinking mugs washed over them instantly. But as soon as members noticed who had just entered, the noise shifted.
"Hey, it's the forest destroyer!"
"Yo, Issei!"
"Dragon boy's back!"
A wave of greetings rolled across the hall, hands raised, mugs tipped in salute. Even the ones who hadn't spoken gave nods or grins of acknowledgment.
Issei grinned, scratching the back of his head. "Hey! Good to see you all again!"
The girls at his side—Yuuka, Uzume, Karasuba, Akitsu, and Yashima—also returned the greetings in their own ways: nods, waves, small smiles.
Of course, it wasn't long before the teasing started.
"Careful, folks! Don't let him and Natsu near each other again!"
"Yeah, we don't need another fire tornado burning down half of Magnolia!"
"Thought the whole town was gonna turn into a barbecue that day!"
Laughter rippled through the hall.
Issei winced, his cheeks coloring as he rubbed his neck. "Y-yeah… sorry about that, everyone. Really. Didn't mean to cause so much trouble."
"Relax, kid!" One of the older members called out with a grin. "We're Fairy Tail! Property damage is practically tradition!"
More laughter followed, and just like that, the tension dissolved.
Still, Uzume muttered under her breath, "Tradition or not, next time you two torch the landscape, I'm dragging you both by the ears."
"Fair enough," Issei said with a sheepish smile.
They made their way through the lively guildhall until they reached the large quest board at the far end. Pinned across it were dozens of sheets—quests of all kinds, from simple odd jobs to dangerous missions.
Issei stood with his arms crossed, studying the board while the others leaned in beside him.
"So many choices…" Yashima murmured. "Guard duty, monster hunts, retrieval missions…"
Yuuka's sharp eyes scanned quickly. "This one's a bounty request. Bandits near the western road. Sounds profitable."
Uzume flicked her veil, smirking. "Or this one. Escort a caravan. Easy money, and probably a good workout."
Karasuba's grin turned sharp as her eyes found a quest slip. "Slay a rogue mage. Now that sounds fun."
Akitsu's pale eyes drifted over the papers. "This one. Ice elemental gone rogue in the northern mountains. I… could test my new Ice-Make against it."
The group murmured among themselves, debating, pointing at slips, and weighing the options.
Issei scratched his cheek, glancing between the quests. "Man, I didn't think picking one would be this tough…" He exhaled, looking back at his team. "So… which one do we take?"
Issei's eyes kept roaming the guild board, sliding past the typical requests—lost pets, caravans, even bandit hunts—until one particular slip of parchment caught his attention. It wasn't pinned neatly like the others. Its edges were frayed, ink smudged, the handwriting rushed.
He leaned closer, scanning the words.
"URGENT—HELP NEEDED IMMEDIATELY! A massive swarm of monsters has been spotted approaching Sunflower Town. We are in danger of being completely overrun. We beg for aid before it is too late."
Issei's stomach tightened. The message wasn't like the others. There was no promised reward, or a formal seal.
"Guys," Issei said quietly, tugging the paper free. "Take a look at this."
The girls gathered around him. Yashima read over his shoulder, her brows knitting. "A swarm of monsters…"
Uzume frowned. "That doesn't sound like a job. That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen."
Yuuka clicked her tongue, holstering her revolver. "A whole town could be wiped out if no one steps in."
Karasuba's grin faded into something sharper, colder. "Hmph. Overrun, huh? Sounds like they need someone to cull the herd."
Akitsu's expression was calm as ever, though her pale fingers flexed slightly. "Should we go?"
Issei looked at each of them, his jaw set. "They're begging for help. We can't just ignore this. Not if lives are on the line."
The others exchanged brief glances, then nodded. It wasn't even a question—they understood.
"Alright then," Yashima said firmly. "Let's do it."
Issei gave a grateful smile, then turned toward the counter. Together, Dragon Heart walked to where Mirajane was sorting through paperwork.
"Mirajane," Issei said, holding up the slip. "We've chosen a quest."
Mirajane looked up, her smile soft and welcoming at first—until her eyes scanned the paper. Her expression shifted, all warmth replaced by quiet seriousness. "Sunflower Town…" She set the documents in her hand down carefully. "That request only came in this morning. We don't know how large the swarm is, only that it's growing by the hour."
Issei's grip on the paper tightened. "All the more reason we need to move fast."
Mirajane nodded, but her gaze lingered on him, as if weighing his resolve. Finally, she exhaled. "It's far. Near the western edge of Fiore. Most would take days to reach it and I doubt there are any trains heading there."
Issei's lips curved into a small, confident grin. "Good thing we're not walking. Kuromaru will get us there in time."
Mirajane's eyes softened again at his determination. She tucked a strand of white hair behind her ear and offered him a smile that was both proud and gentle. "I see. Then I'll approve it. Dragon Heart's first official quest as an official team… quite the challenge to start with."
She handed the parchment back to Issei, then leaned forward, resting her chin in her hand. "Head west. Follow the main road until it forks near the sunflower fields. The town's just beyond them. And Issei…" Her eyes gleamed with a mix of worry and trust. "Please be safe."
He nodded firmly. "Count on it."
With the quest in hand, Issei and the girls turned for the door. Members of the guild called out encouragement as they passed as they heard where they were going.
"Good luck out there!"
"Don't go embarrassing us!"
"Don't let them bite you, Issei!"
Uzume waved, grinning. "We'll handle it!"
Yuuka smirked as she tightened her holsters. "Just keep the drinks ready for when we come back."
Karasuba let out a sharp laugh. "If the swarm's as big as they say, it won't be enough for me."
Akitsu said nothing, but the faint frost trailing from her steps spoke volumes of her readiness. Yashima gave a steady nod of respect to the guild as she passed.
Mirajane lifted a hand, her voice carrying over the noise. "Dragon Heart—good luck, and come back safe!"
With that, Issei pushed open the doors of the guild, sunlight spilling in as Kuromaru's massive shadow fell over the street outside.
Their path was set. West, to Sunflower Town.
