Salimo sliced off a thin strip of meat and tossed it into the air.
The wolf-headed parrot flapped its wings, snatching the meat before it could hit the ground, gulping it down in a few quick bites as its feathers slowly grew back.
"Salimo, living the good life, I see? Even got time to spoil your pets."
Somewhere in the room, a woman had showed up out of nowhere, her face hidden behind a layer of dark mist that completely obscured her features.
Salimo barely lifted his head, his eyes flickering:
"Luckybe, no point playing hide-and-seek with me.
Is our plan wrapped up?"
Hearing this, the dark mist around the woman's face melted away, revealing a completely ordinary face.
"Keh wa wa!
Keh wa wa!"
The old man's words somehow struck the woman as hilarious, making her burst into waves of creepy laughter that didn't sound human at all—more like a crow cawing.
Her smile was incredibly stiff, like she was deliberately trying to copy something.
