Ody stood in an open field swinging his sword at the air. Letting the breeze blow through his growing hair. A focused face was plastered on his face not letting himself be distracted.
Though he soon felt a different presence walk up to his right. At first he thought it was his teacher but this presence felt more heavy. He stopped his swinging and looked to his right only to see nothing but air.
He stood still for a second remembering something his teacher taught him. He proceeded to close his eyes and slow his breathing. He then used his senses to feel around. His hearing was able to hear the slight breathing coming from someone in front of him slightly to the right.
He quickly rose his sword pointed at the person hidden from sight.
"Show yourself I know you are there," Ody said seriously.
The figure froze still for a few seconds hearing him. Then the air shimmered where the figure stood.
A 6 foot tall woman wearing regal white dress with red dashed on it, and a metal band with long white feathers on each side covered here eyes. Though her face could not be seen as the band covered most of her face.
"Tell me child how were you able to see through my spell?" The woman asked him.
"It was a trick my teacher had taught me," Ody told her.
"Impressive, and what is your name boy?" the woman asked clearly impressed from the boys actions.
"Odysseus, but you could call me Ody my goddess," Ody replied.
The goddess rose a brow at Ody's words slightly surprised at his guess of her being a goddess.
"Then I ask Ody, what is my name?" the goddess asked intrigued by this boy acting so friendly with a goddess.
"You are Athena of course, goddess of wisdom, and strategy," Ody said with a bright smile on his face. Athena smiled at the confidence this boy had.
"Correct young one," Athena confirmed with a smile on her face.
"I have heard many stories about you from my teacher about how no one could contest with your wit, how your strategies were almost guaranteed victories," Ody said with stars in his eyes.
"Now you have piqued my interest of this teacher of yours," Athena said interested in this person who spoke such high praises of her.
"That would be great and maybe you can see him too since you are a goddess," Ody said hoping someone else except could see his teacher for once. He quickly led her to the forest near his castle. Though confused at his words Athena followed Ody.
Ody reached the clearing in the forest and quickly started to look around.
"Teacher I got someone who wants to meet you!" Ody called out loud.
"Why did you bring someone when they can't even see me!" Odysseus yelled back as he walked towards Ody only to freeze seeing Athena standing next to him.
"Teacher this is-" Ody tried to introduce Athena but was cut off by Odysseus.
"Is that you Athena?" Odysseus asked the goddess with a hint of sadness in regret.
"Yes that is my name," Athena answered. "Now answer my questions eidolon, or you shall perish by my spear," Athena said in a forceful tone as she summoned her spear and pointed it at Odysseus.
Odysseus just smiled wearily and raised his hands. "I will do my best to answer your questions Athena," Odysseus said with no hesitation.
Athena was slightly taken aback from the unconditional trust seen in Odysseus.
"What is your reason for teaching this young boy?" Asked Athena. "My only reason was to teach him how to be strong and smart in both life and battle," Odysseus answered truthfully. Athena seeing no signs of lying from Odysseus, moved on to the next question.
"Why are you here in the first place?" Athena asked. "This is my home where else would I go?" Odysseus asked with a tease in his words. Though a bit annoyed at his tone Athena could tell he was telling the truth.
"My final question, why do you seem so familiar with me?" Athena asked. This question left Odysseus stumped on how to answer. "For that I don't know how to answer," Odysseus replied truthfully. "Your presence just feels really familiar, sorry if that came across as disrespectful," Odysseus said as he slightly bowed his head.
Athena seeing all his answers being the truth finally eased up and dispelled her spear.
"Now I have a favor to ask of you Athena," Odysseus told her.
Athena now had her interest piqued as what could an eidolon need from her.
"Go ahead and speak of your favor and I will see if I should accept," Athena told him.
"Could you please teach my young student here all about strategies, strengthening of the mind, and help him sharpen his wit?" Odysseus asked as his teachings could not compare to those of the goddess of wisdom and war strategies.
Athena was shocked at such a request. She had expected something a bit more selfish but was surprised.
She looked towards Ody and could see the potential of the boy and thought about it.
"I will accept," Athena told Odysseus. Odysseus smiled and thanked her.
"Now come along little one I will teach you how to be a warrior of the mind," Athena called out to Ody as she walked deeper into the forest with Ody quickly following behind her.
