"Ah, yes, that can be done. Follow me along to the encyclopedia section." Answered the bookstore's receptionist. She led herself while signaling Naph to follow.
He begrudgingly glanced back to the supposed section of wall behind which his ride covered in white tarp waits, and hurriedly closed the distance between him and the receptionist.
Her hair swooped rhythmically, a trance of pendulum-like motion. Naph felt an attraction to ravage and take her as his, enthralled by her long dark hair. To bring himself back, he repeatedly shook his head, but that animalistic urge perpetrated under his skin.
He fell a step behind her. Tying his this unbelievable urge with his will to the bottom of his thoughts, he took his next step under greater emotional adversity than any before.
'What is this?' A lone thought climbed onto the top of his mind. What caused it remained unknown to Naph, while he did not care for it except to escape it.
'Focus, moron, focus.' He willed his next thought to the top as he paused his hand to snatch the receptionist's hair. 'Come on, let's… lets think of…' he garbled in his thoughts, a first for him.
"Ennet."
Naph stunned by the sudden break of silence by the receptionist, focused on her voice. 'Yeah, focus on her something else. Like how head-full she is unlike Bulwark… wait, why am I recalling of Bulwark?'
The receptionist continued speaking, "You can call me Ennet. I mean if you were wondering back there what to say."
"Ye-yeah, I was just thinking… that," Naph replied while gripping back on his unquenched animalistic urge. 'Why? Just why?' As he thought this, he felt his mind sensing the animalistic urge dying down.
Both had only taken a few steps in the meanwhile, the shop was adequate for a bookstore. It even had an upper floor.
"Right after this shelf and turning we enter the encyclopedia and non-fiction section." Ennet called back. She glanced back at Naph with a tugging smile finding its way to her lips.
His urge had a dying down moment but when it saw the smile, it wanted to start anew. Naph rather purged it with the mental images of Bulwark's mutilated body.
Ennet's lips wavered a bit, but she broke it with another remark, "Sir, will you like to read a comprehensive encyclopedia of all the continents? Or an encyclopedia per continent?"
Naph returned it with, "But why would you suggest reading? Isn't this a bookstore?" He felt that weird unknown animalistic urge crippled and dead under his thoughts and he regained more control on his actions.
Ennet's glistened under the light from the poles outside, when she responded.
"Yes, this is a bookstore… for now." She paused feeling what words she should say next, "We are expanding in the services we offer. I have been considering to expand as well into the library or book issue business."
She saw a question of doubt to be reaching Naph through subtle movements of his brow. Naph began with , "I-" He was cut in by Ennet.
"I haven't properly introduced myself. I am Ennet, this shop's owner, main receptionist, and manager of the café."
"Ah." Naph iterated.
Ennet gave a luscious smile to Naph's stunned expression.
'If that urge would have remained, I think I would have made a move right about now.' He reeled his musings in.
Shifting his focus back, he asked. "So what do you suggest I do to… quench my knowledge?" He took a step toward Ennet. 'If there's anything, she is connected to that weird urge… somehow.'
Ennet unshaken proceeded to draw out books from the shelves. She took one right next to Naph, while others were taken from the left of where she stood.
Finally, she walked to her left to pick out another book. One whose cover Naph recognized, 'That seems familiar. Wasn't something like that on the book that one on the ferry was reading?' His eye showed little twitch but his face relaxed further.
"I see that you recognize this book. This one details more about the continent of Tarna and its relations with every religion on the known continents." She turned it in her hand while talking about the book. Its cover showed a large landmass surrounded by water on all sides, while in the north of the cover a glimpse of another huge landmass was drawn. There were islands surrounding the main landmass but one of it on the left side of it was larger than any other with the name Monite written in its center. A strait separated the island from the landmass but its massiveness was disillusioned when compared to the main landmass itself.
Ennet walked towards Naph, "Well, sir, these are the books I'll suggest. While the current recorded world dictates that there are only two known continents, we have had contact with people from other continents north of the continent of Regda. That's as far as I know."
She overturned the top book's pages to open a map and pointed out to the northern hidden landmass.
"That is Regda. Its colony is Southern Regda, the northern nation of Tarna." She felt around in her mouth with those words. It seemed as if she sent herself into a trance while staring at the map.
"Eh-hem," Naph coughed.
She cut her trance-like state, "I am sorry." As she shook her head, she handed the books to the only customer of the bookstore.
"Let me know how I can help you further… umm, sir?" She traced the last syllable with her eyes as well as her voice.
"Anaphol." Naph answered. "Or you can call me Naph."
Placing a hand on her heart, Ennet asked, "Oh! I have your permission to use your nickname. Thanks for trusting me that much." She smiled a tiny smile.
Naph felt that was odd, but he had the books he needed and he still hadn't figured out the reason behind the unquenchable animalistic urge that climbed him. He needed answers, and he needed them fast. He nodded to her comment.
'Staying for a bit won't be wrong but I need to be thorough with my preparation. Knowing is half of it anyways.' Weighing the books, he asked Ennet.
"Uh, can I also get a dictionary for each language used in these books?"
