Under the pale, flickering glow of the streetlights, Su Li sat quietly on a weathered bench, his gaze drifting toward the soft blur of traffic in the far distance. The city, alive with neon pulses and restless light, throbbed like a living heartbeat, as though unwilling to sleep even for a second.

A faint meow broke the hush.

From the grass near the curb, a sleek black cat emerged, its glossy fur catching the ambient glow with every movement, each step precise and deliberate. Su Li's eyes lit up with recognition.

"Mimi~ Mimi~," he called gently, waving his hand with a subtle motion. The cat responded with another soft meow before trotting toward him, leaping effortlessly onto the bench. Su Li smiled with genuine warmth and reached out to stroke its silky coat. Rather than retreat or flinch, the cat met his gaze with an almost human stillness, allowing his hand to pass over its back again and again.

The heaviness weighing down his chest—remnants of the earlier soul burial—began to dissolve little by little, as if drawn out by the gentle purring beneath his fingers. "Mimi, you're so dark, you look like a freshly burned briquette," he muttered with a wry chuckle. The cat gave a quick, offended meow in return, its disapproval nearly comedic. Laughing softly, Su Li scooped it into his lap, where it settled with ease, curling its body as it purred deeper, eyes narrowing in half-sleep.

"This world of yours," he murmured, voice low, hand continuing its rhythmic motion along the cat's back, "it's something else entirely." He looked up at the lights above. "Compared to Soul Society—so rigid, so ancient, so cold—your world feels alive, even at night. Soul Society drowns in silence and shadow, but this place
 this place glows."

The cat's eyes shifted. Its pupils narrowed into slits.

In the next instant—whoosh!—it sprang away in a blur of motion, landing five meters off, crouched low in the grass, its gaze now sharp, alert, and no longer feline.

Su Li made no move, simply watched with an unreadable smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

With a sharp detonation, a puff of white smoke burst forth, and within the coiling haze, the cat's silhouette warped and lengthened. A moment later, a slender, poised figure stepped from the fading mist—Shihouin Yoruichi.

Still seated, Su Li's gaze never wavered.

"How did you know?" she asked, her tone cold and clipped.

His response came with effortless calm. "You suppressed your Reiatsu well, but not flawlessly. There was a leak—faint, but noticeable. It didn't take much effort to track it."

Yoruichi's brow furrowed slightly. What unsettled her wasn't just that he sensed her Reiatsu—it was that he hadn't bothered to suppress his own. The spiritual pressure she'd detected from the start was all his.

"I wasn't asking about your sensing ability," she said, voice tightening. "I asked how you saw through my disguise."

Her feline transformation was a secret known to very few, all of them close to Urahara. In that form, she could erase her spiritual pressure completely. No average Shinigami—no one unfamiliar—should have been able to see through her.

Su Li's smile grew faintly amused. "Miss Yoruichi," he said, eyes glinting playfully, "maybe you should put something on before we continue."

Her brows lifted in momentary confusion, then she glanced down and saw the state she was in. Her expression twitched. Without a word, she calmly retrieved a folded outfit from the folds of her transformation cloak and began dressing right in front of him.

Su Li turned his head slightly, an awkward gesture betraying a hint of embarrassment. This woman clearly didn't care about modesty—at least not when it came to him.

Dressed in her distinctive orange cropped jacket and form-fitting black leggings, Yoruichi faced him again, her arms crossed.

"Now," she said, voice firm, "explain."

Su Li's grin widened, shoulders rising in an exaggerated shrug. "Sorry," he replied, "no comment."

There was no way he would reveal the truth—that he was a transmigrator from another world, someone who knew every detail of Bleach's events before they ever unfolded. The moment he laid eyes on that sleek black cat, recognition had struck instantly. After all, no ordinary street cat would leap so confidently into a stranger's arms.

"You brat," she growled. "I let you pet me, and now you're refusing to answer?"

He raised his hands in a mock gesture of innocence. "You never said I couldn't, Miss Yoruichi."

Her cheeks flushed with a mix of fury and embarrassment. "You're a pervert! A scoundrel! A shameless little brat!"

Su Li blinked, momentarily stunned. That line—those exact words—wasn't that what Sui-Feng had called him before? The realization tugged a grin from his lips. These two were clearly cut from the same cloth, despite their age gap.

Yoruichi's fury only deepened as she watched him smile, his laughter subtle but unmistakable. She briefly recalled Urahara's warnings about this boy—but in that moment, she decided to throw all caution aside.

"Looks like you need a proper lesson."

Her golden eyes sharpened, body blurring as she vanished from her position. A split-second later, she reappeared mid-strike.

Boom!

Her fist came crashing down like a hammer.

Hakuda Technique: Ikkotsu (Single Bone).

Su Li, still wearing his relaxed smile, lifted his arm with practiced grace.

Hakuda Technique: Ikkotsu.

Their fists collided with a thunderous crash, the impact sending a visible shockwave rippling outward. The surrounding air warped from the pressure, and a couple of nearby pedestrians stumbled backward, shielding their faces from the sudden gust.

Yoruichi's eyes widened faintly. He had met her Ikkotsu with one of his own—and not faltered in the slightest.

"This kid's Hakuda
it's almost at my level," she thought, heart sinking slightly in disbelief.

What she couldn't know—what her instincts couldn't yet sense—was that Su Li hadn't even used his full strength. Not even close. Not half.

His expression remained unchanged, still relaxed, almost lazy.

Yoruichi's playful mood vanished. Her palm opened, and her next strike came faster, sharper, with a savage inward twist as it drove forward.

Hakuda Technique: Shakkotsu (Crushing Bone).

Su Li mirrored her perfectly—no wasted movement, no delay.

Shakkotsu.

Their hands collided once more, flesh meeting flesh with the crisp sound of bone straining under impact.
