Chapter 32 - What a family reunion

" She keeps on staring at me." It was too scary. The car front view mirror was positioned directly so that She could watch her; Alina. Jesse felt confused.

"Why would my mum do that. Unless she knows you from somewhere and that's impossible." He looked out through at the buildings as they drove past them in a red washed pick up truck. Still the same. He spotted the kindergarten he attended when he was a kid.

" Some things never change." He smirked and looked back at his mother who was surprisingly quiet;

"So.Mum." The woman in the driver's seat shook her head a little to show that she was listening.

" How did you know that we were coming."

"Actually, I didn't. I was waiting for someone else." The woman started fidgetting. Jesse noticed. Something was wrong.

" Who."

" Someone. And don't ask me of his new because you don't need to know since you have been away for five years." She started crying. They were already in front of the house. Alina went inside to rest.Jesse reached close to her and gently rubbed her back;

" I am back now." The woman looked deeply into Jesse's eyes; trying to see if he was telling truth.

" Still like your father." Jesse stepped a few steps away from her. He turned away and faced towards the lake beside their house.

" Please don't bring that matter up. I am not like him."

" Well you two left me for so many years so..."

" Dad is a jerk." He looked over his shoulder, a shade of rage showing on his face.

" You know that, Mrs Kane. He is a psycho."

" But he is still your father." Mrs. Kane stepped forward towards her son. Her eyes filled with passion and a sense of hope. She gently held his head up. He removed her hand.

" This house is. Not bad though." Alina noticed Jesse's family taste in art and style. The wooden furniture was carved in an artistic style.

" Last season." She whispered. A dark figure was watching her every move. It wondered what such woman would be doing here.

Alina noticed an old photo framed beside a replica of the famous painting of Mona Lisa. A lean boy, probably in his early teens, squinting by the flash of the camera. His smile looking like they forced him to. He was holding a ' Participation award' Certificate. She smiled. Jesse. She quickly tucked the photograpin her purse;

" It might be useful sometime."

The dark figure came closer to Alina. It's eyes twitched strangely. Alina was still busy cooking at the pictures. The front door swung open and Jesse stormed in and rushed upstairs. Every step echoed around the house. She shrugged her shoulders: " Was that Jesse?" As she turned to check who; she bumped into the dark figure who had come out into the light. Alina's face cringed. She let out a yelp before realising who she was looking at. Jesse heard her scream and rushed downstairs. Looking at the situation, he let out a sigh of relief. He went close to the figure and gently rubbed her shoulders. The figure was an old woman. The old lady squeezed Jesse's cheeks hard. Tears slowly forcing their way out of her eyes.

" It's been long."
