Amber was furious because it was the first time her best friend had treated her so coldly. Previously, when her best friend was busy, she would always make time to chat with her. Now, her best friend was clearly rejecting her, claiming she was in a meeting. Even though it was already nighttime here, and the time difference between the country her friend was visiting and this one was quite significant, Amber shouldn't have minded it. She should be the one resting, having worked herself to the bone today.
She couldn't contain her curiosity any longer. She had previously asked her assistant to investigate Matthias's whereabouts, leaving her without warning. She bit her lip as she contacted her assistant.
"Do you know where Matthias went?"
"I heard he went to Guam. I asked one of my acquaintances who works at T&H Real Estate."
"What?! Why did he go there?"
"I don't know the details. But, it seems like he's on vacation."
