Chapter 1 - The job

In a dark room, a young man with worn clothing sat clicking away at his old computer, which looked like it would break down at any moment. He would occasionally take a short break to sip black tea from a mug and let his computer rest. His eyes were glued to the screen, his face etched with a yearning expression as his hands clasped together in a fervent prayer that things would work out this time.

BEEP BEEP. His cell phone rang several times before he picked it up. "Hello, who's this?" he asked, his brows furrowed. Not many people had this number, and if someone managed to get through, it meant business. "Black Cat? I want you to do a job for me, and I want it as clean as possible. You'll get more info when you call the number I'll send to you." BEEP. The formal tone of the other party's voice irritated him; he hated these types of clients. If it weren't for the pay, he wouldn't be stuck in this line of work.

He picked up his other cell phone and made a few calls. For a big job, he'd need a crew – an experienced one. Pushing aside all other thoughts, he got dressed in his work outfit: a black overall without a spot, a black mask with whisker drawings, and tactical boots. "A big job requires a big gun," he muttered as he browsed his rather empty gun rack, picking a modified Desert Eagle. "And I'm stuck with you, I guess," he said, closing his eyes for a few seconds and heaving a small sigh before walking out.

Six hours after the call, a man dressed in black from head to toe stood invisible in the darkness of the night, waiting for someone or something. It didn't take long for a black Audi RS6 Avant to drive into the parking lot – their meeting spot. He entered the car, looking up to see familiar faces: Taro Yamada, the well-built Japanese guy, and his partner on this mission, Kenji Nakamura, was smiling at him.

"Hey, Kaito, how've you been coping without me these past few days? Missed me?" Taro asked with a teasing smile. Black Cat, Kaito, replied plainly, "I've been good. How's Yui? Is she alright?" Kenji wanted to respond when a gruff voice interrupted, "We didn't come here to talk about our friends; we're here for a job, so don't mess around."

Kenji chuckled and teased the guy, "Haha, what a bummer. That's why you're still single, hehe." The guy's face ticked off immediately, but Kaito intervened before things escalated. "What are you guys doing? Let's go in. The plan is simple: we break in silently, take the stuff, and zoom out."
