The soft glow of the fireplace danced across Aria's face as she settled beside me on the leather sofa in my private sitting room.
Outside, the city lights twinkled like distant stars, but here—in the warmth of our world—everything else faded.
"You look tired," Aria murmured, her hand brushing a strand of hair from my forehead.
I exhaled, leaning into her touch. "Exhausted," I admitted. "Between the board battles and legal fights, I haven't slept properly in days."
She tucked her legs beneath her, concern shading her eyes. "You've done so much for all of us. Especially for Lila."
My heart softened at the mention of my niece. Several days earlier, Lila had come home from the hospital—healthy and bursting with her usual laughter. Her recovery felt like a miracle worth celebrating properly.
