Ervin crossed his arms. "Then why can't we replicate it now?"
"Because those convergences no longer exist," Kairn said calmly. "The flow of mana changed after the first surge a century ago. The patterns are gone, the artifacts lost. What remains are fragments of records and fading traces. That is why we fail where they succeeded. We succeed only to make a small dimensional pockets. We are not powerful enough now to create or open a massive dimensions."
He glanced toward Veylan, then added softly, "And that is why we look to you, Ren. The scriptures hint that only someone whose powers touch both time and space can sense the remnants of those passages. Without you, the trail is invisible."
Silence filled the chamber. Both Ren and Ervin absorbed his words.
"So according to that, I have space powers. But what about time? I don't have it," Ren asked.
