Chapter 53 - Deal

As they left the mysterious treasure room, Kael'thas walked to Aiden's side and asked in a low voice, "You mentioned earlier that three of the five heroes of the expedition are still alive. Then, did Alleria perish?"

The High Elf Prince's expression was somewhat heavy. Although Quel'Thalas had guessed this outcome when the Dark Portal was destroyed, Alleria was still a friend he knew well, and he felt very regret.

"It's hard to say," Aiden shook his head, a reaction that surprised the Elf Prince. He then explained, "We saw in the future timeline that she and Turalyon disappeared a few years after Draenor shattered, leaving behind their child in Honor Hold. There is no news confirming their demise. I think there is a high probability that they are still alive, and perhaps one day we will see them again!"

According to all the unwritten rules of the plot: people who fall off cliffs, mysteriously disappear, or are unconscious never die directly. Especially Turalyon, who has the template of a protagonist! Although we still didn't see this couple in the Warlords of Draenor expansion, Aiden believes they will definitely come back in the future, perhaps to save the world again.

"Their child?" Kael'thas opened his eyes in surprise, his golden eyebrows raised high.

"Uh, yes."

Kael'thas said disappointedly, "How could Alleria combine with a human?"

"Why not?" This sentence stirred up a bit of rebellious sentiment in Aiden. Although he wasn't a human from this world, in terms of appearance and characteristics, there was no difference between the two. Moreover, wouldn't Alleria's sister, Vereesa, later marry the human mage, Rhonin?

Kael'thas shook his head and said, "Even if we put aside the issue of bloodline. When their child is old and dying, Alleria may still be in her prime. A brief union will only bring millennia of loneliness."

Aiden had to admit that Kael'thas made sense. But he complained in his heart: Aren't you still pursuing Jaina, even though you are saying big words? When she gets old and can't walk, you will still be in this appearance.

Seeing his strange gaze, Kael'thas obviously realized this. The High Elf Prince rarely blushed and said, "Of course, I will not criticize them out of racial prejudice. Love knows no race, yes. Cough cough..."

After the awkwardness passed, Aiden nudged Kael'thas's arm and whispered, "Let me tell you something. You'd better be careful of Dar'khan."

Kael'thas was startled, and he showed an incredulous expression: "He... Could it be...?"

"Although saying such a thing at this point in time is a bit alarmist, I should still tell you. In the future timeline, he betrayed the Elven Kingdom, revealing the secret to breaking the magical barrier of Silvermoon City to the commander of the Scourge."

Hearing this news, Kael'thas's tall and straight figure almost faltered. He really couldn't accept such news. Dar'khan was a mainstay of Quel'Thalas, a powerful mage lord, almost terrifying in his strength. He knew almost all the secrets of this magical kingdom. If this guy really betrayed Quel'Thalas in the future—he didn't dare imagine the consequences.

As a member of the Kirin Tor, Kael'thas had always learned of all the news about the Scourge in the first instance. But as a High Elf Prince, he always thought this was just a human internal trouble—perhaps including the dwarves? But that wasn't important. He felt that this disaster could not spread to the High Elf Kingdom—the magical barrier surrounding Silvermoon City protected its people. For thousands of years, trolls, orcs, and even dragons had failed to break it. The High Elves believed it could also block the threat of the Scourge.

So, when the entire Alliance was busy putting out the threat of the Scourge, and even mobilizing a large number of troops to expedition to the northern frozen land of Northrend, the High Elf Kingdom did not show any intention of sending troops to support.

In fact, since the last Orc invasion, Quel'Thalas suffered serious damage. The High Elves withdrew from the Alliance on the grounds that the Alliance's rescue was not effective. They decided to take care of themselves and no longer participate in the Alliance's joint advance and retreat.

Aiden continued, "I know Vereesa has already reported the matter of the Scourge and the Lich King to His Majesty Anasterian, and I am also very clear about your father's thoughts. You want to stay out of it. I understand this very well. But this is an era of great change coming, and no race can stay out of it."

He paused, seeing the High Elf Prince's face was a little flushed. That handsome face was mixed with anger and shame: "I don't want the things that might happen in the future to really happen to this disaster-ridden race of High Elves, I don't want the name 'Quel'dorei' to disappear from now on, and I don't want you to regret it when you return to your country in the future. Please remember my words, Prince Kael'thas, while there is still time."

After speaking, he walked past Kael'thas, who was stunned in place.

That's all he could do.

However, Aiden had to admit that he used a little trick—later, the name Quel'dorei (Thalassian: High Elves) did almost disappear. Because after Kael'thas returned, he changed the name of the remaining High Elves to Sin'dorei (Thalassian: Blood Elves) in his determination to seek revenge.

But in his context, probably anyone who heard it would think that the High Elves had been exterminated.

But there's nothing wrong with saying it a little seriously, otherwise, I'm afraid it wouldn't be enough to impress the proud and arrogant High Elves.

Even if it wasn't for the fate of the High Elves, for more energy points, Aiden had to do this.

Before leaving, Medivh stopped to greet everyone, then took out a black notebook and handed it to Aiden: "These are some of my previous notes. If you're interested, you can take a look. I hope your efforts can save the people of Lordaeron. Farewell, everyone!"

After saying that, he transformed into a raven and flew away.

Aiden never expected to receive a gift. He opened the cover page, and it clearly recorded Medivh's meditations on the soul and the void. This notebook didn't emit any magical fluctuations; it was indeed an ordinary item, but the knowledge within was very precious. Its academic value might not be lower than that magic book in the display case.

When the other archmages saw him receive Medivh's notebook, they also showed great interest. He immediately said tactfully: "After I finish reading it, I will leave it in Dalaran for study and research!"

Everyone nodded in satisfaction. It seemed their new colleague's ideological awareness was still acceptable.

Aiden's affairs here could be considered concluded. With this establishment of diplomatic relations, his territory and the magical kingdom of Dalaran would have more cooperation and exchanges in the future, not only in magic but also in many other fields.

Before leaving, Aiden called Lux to him: "Lux, from now on, you will be our plenipotentiary representative in Dalaran. Do a good job!"

He was originally worried that Lux would be too lonely here alone, but in this short period, he discovered a large group of people surrounding this genius and lovely girl, fawning over her. Clearly, she was also happy to enjoy this.

"Alright, Alright, I know!" Lux waved her hand to show she understood, then blinked her eyes mischievously, "Remember our agreement, Commander!"

"What agreement?" Aiden was confused.

"Don't rush to summon my brother!"

"Uh, I'll try my best." Aiden wiped his sweat.

Before leaving, Antonidas said: "As allies, we should also send an ambassador to Valoran. I have someone in mind."

Aiden said: "No matter who it is, we will welcome them wholeheartedly!"

"You could be considered acquaintances," Antonidas winked. Aiden thought it was Rhonin, but he didn't expect the white-bearded archmage to call his disciple Jaina over, "Come to my side, Jaina Proudmoore."

Jaina never expected this, and her eyes widened in surprise.

"Me?"

The archmage smiled gently: "Yes, you. You've learned almost everything I've taught you. Now is the time to go out, broaden your horizons, and hone yourself. Go to Aiden's territory. There, you will get such opportunities and be able to study the magical summoning spells up close. This is a good opportunity. Are you unwilling?"

...

Sevandis was an apprentice of Archmage Her'cula of Tarren Mill. He wore a large cloak, hiding his face under the hood, and covered most of his face with a scarf. In the snowy winter, this kind of attire didn't seem special, and he was very satisfied that no one could recognize him.

He walked into a small alley and knocked on a seemingly ordinary door, just like a guest.

"Sorry, honored guest, we're sold out of ale today," a shop assistant said to him.

"No, I don't want ale. I want wine made from the Mirra Vineyards of Stormwind Kingdom."

"This kind of wine is out of stock. Can you exchange it for wine produced in Lordaeron, or wait for the next shipment?"

"Forget it, give me eight barrels of rum!"

This sounded like a conversation between a wine merchant agent and a purchaser. The shop assistant bowed: "This way, please."

Then, Sevandis was led to the basement. The shop assistant opened a hidden door in the wall and pointed to it.

After Sevandis went in, he said to the person inside: "You seem to be very unsuccessful, sir. I saw the target pass in front of me this morning, heading to Dalaran."

At the other end of the room sat a person also wearing a hood, his face covered with a mask, playing with a set of daggers.

The masked man glanced at Sevandis and took out a crystal from his arms, throwing it to him: "See for yourself."

Sevandis picked up the crystal and injected mana into it. Then, a series of images appeared in his mind: a four- or five-year-old girl handing an apple to a young man with black hair. That young man took the apple and took a bite, even eating half of it on the way back.

"My people did successfully poison her. But they were also caught. I sent out my strongest subordinates to rescue them, as well as this crystal." The masked man comfortably trimmed his nails with a dagger. He mocked without looking up, "It seems the poison you boasted about isn't as useful as you said! I had to use my intelligence network to find out that the target has several angels who can use a ritual to eliminate abnormal states."

The masked man put down the dagger and looked up at the somewhat stunned Sevandis: "How is it? Now you won't say we only take money and don't do anything, right? The Assassin's League always takes money to do things and never fails!"

Sevandis put down the crystal and asked: "I've changed my mind. Now I want to buy this person's life!"

"Then you'll have to pay another sum of money." The masked man squinted his eyes, revealing a fox-like smile.
