Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Beginning

A certain Chaldeas that had already completed the salvation of humanity, its great savior Fujimaru Ritsuka, was recently feeling a bit troubled.

After successfully saving humanity, the summoned Heroic Spirits had not returned to the Throne of Heroes but instead settled down in Chaldea.

It was a good thing that everyone could live together, but sometimes having too many people was a sweet burden.

For example, the Round Table Knights often engaged in fierce battles, and those kings who laughed all day with their "HAHAHAHA" along with other energetic Heroic Spirits frequently left Chaldea's finances in the red.

The director often approached Ritsuka about this. Ritsuka was also troubled! The financial deficit in Chaldea needed to be resolved, but the daily activities of the Heroic Spirits couldn't be banned—everyone was just too full of energy!

Still, a solution had to be found! Ah... Dear Da Vinci-chan.

With a goal in mind, Ritsuka immediately sprang into action. For something like this, of course, a professional was needed, and Da Vinci-chan, the universal genius, was the obvious choice!

At this hour, Da Vinci-chan should be in the control room—let's go check. Just as Ritsuka was about to head there, a familiar voice called out from behind.

"Hey, Master, I found a weird spot. Wanna check it out together?" Ritsuka turned around to see Mordred standing there.

Ritsuka felt a headache coming on. The problem child said she'd found something strange—why did that sound so ominous?

What kind of weird place could even exist in Chaldea? And even if there was one, shouldn't it have been smashed to pieces by now?

She was the most violent fighter of them all, having challenged every single Knight of the Round Table. Well, might as well go take a look—better not let her cause any more trouble.

This time, Mordred genuinely wasn't planning to stir up trouble. She really thought it was strange and had come to fetch her Master.

A hole had appeared in a corner of Chaldea—wasn't that weird enough? As she led the way, she explained the situation to Ritsuka.

"And the hole seems to lead nowhere. I tested it by throwing a frying pan in, but there wasn't even a sound."

Ritsuka froze upon hearing this and asked, "Wait, what did you throw in? A frying pan?"

"Yeah," Mordred replied matter-of-factly. "I grabbed it from the kitchen."

Ritsuka: "Did Emiya agree to that? He's been complaining all day about a missing pan—so it was you?"

Mordred: "? Why would I need his permission? No one was there when I took it. How was I supposed to ask if he wasn't around?"

"Come on, Master, stop nagging and hurry up. It's not like he knows it was me anyway."

Pushed along by Mordred, Ritsuka soon arrived at a remote corner. Sure enough, there was a hole at the edge!!!

Ritsuka was genuinely stunned. Sure, the people in Chaldea fought all the time, but at least they fixed things afterward.

But from Mordred's description, this hole clearly wasn't caused by fighting—there was no clue how it had appeared.

Thinking about all these messy situations, Ritsuka almost lost control of his expression. Whatever, time to give up!

After all, he had no idea what was going on. "I'm just a delicate, fragile pretty boy," he thought shamelessly.

"This kind of problem shouldn't fall on me to solve," Ritsuka justified inwardly.

So, Ritsuka immediately sent a message to Da Vinci-chan via communicator.

While sending it, he smiled and said to Mordred, "This isn't something we can handle. We should call a professional. Just wait a bit—help is on the way."

Seeing the gentle smile on her Master's face and what he'd just done, Mordred hesitated but chose to stay silent.

She could tell her Master hadn't been in the best mood lately. Was something bothering him?

"Definitely not because of me," Mordred thought to herself.

"Yeah, it must be that damn Lancelot and the others who upset Master. If I'd known he was unhappy, I wouldn't have bothered him."

Suddenly, Mordred lost her balance uncontrollably. Since she was standing right at the edge of the hole, she fell straight in!

Fell into the hole… into… AHHHH SHE FELL IN!

Ritsuka watched in horror as Mordred disappeared into the hole. The last thing Mordred saw was Ritsuka's horrified expression! "Oh no, I think I scared Master…"

Meanwhile, the mastermind behind this calmly waved and greeted Ritsuka.

"Yo, Ritsuka-chan! Surprise~! I just helped you solve a problem." Da Vinci-chan even gave a playful wink.

Ritsuka didn't understand and was utterly shocked. He said with mixed emotions, "You pushed Mordred into the hole to solve a problem? Can we even get her back?"

Ritsuka felt awful—who could understand the feeling of suddenly losing a precious comrade out of nowhere?

Not to mention, if the Round Table Knights found out Mordred was missing, all hell would break loose!

Seeing Ritsuka's utterly speechless expression, Da Vinci-chan stopped teasing him and explained.

"Ritsuka-chan, this hole appeared recently. Based on my observations, it's likely a passage to another world.

Weren't you troubled by the Heroic Spirits fighting everywhere and causing financial deficits?

With Mordred in another world, they won't be able to fight even if they want to. Her disappearance will keep them busy searching, diverting their energy away from brawling.

The other world isn't dangerous for Mordred. She can also scout the situation there.

Think of it as a vacation. With her gone, Chaldea will be quieter too. See? This solves both the financial deficit and the mystery of the hole."

Hmm… now that he thought about it, Ritsuka realized Da Vinci-chan was truly… a genius. This killed two birds with one stone. As expected of the Universal Genius—no problem was unsolvable for her.

But he still had one question. "Uh, Da Vinci-chan, what if Mordred can't find a way back…?"

"Don't worry, Ritsuka. When I sent her to the other world, I left a communicator on her. We should be able to contact her.

Relax and enjoy this rare vacation. Leave the rest to me!"

Since Da Vinci-chan said so, Ritsuka stopped worrying about it.

Handing things over to Da Vinci-chan meant he could wash his hands of the matter. How wonderful!

Now, he could focus on how to spend this rare break. Maybe invite Mash to hang out.

As for Mordred… Ritsuka could only wish her good luck. After all, vacation is king!!!
