Chapter 255 - Chapter 249: The Call

The entire ocean was a playground for the Siren. The races on land and in the sky had absolutely no interest in anything in the ocean, which meant that Schwi could fly at the fastest speed in the sea with Riku—with long white wakes and bubbles trailing behind.

The destination was the first sea of spirit that appeared in the world, created by the last blow before Devil's death. It was a great miracle that even Imanity could observe with their naked eyes. Su'er did not give it any fancy names; he simply named this place Blue Sea One. The sea of spirit that appeared later under the plan were named Blue Sea Two, Blue Sea Three... It was quite simple and clear.

If viewed from high above the sea surface, this original sea of spirit looked as if it had been pierced from the deepest part of the ocean floor, like a blue flame surging from the planet's core. But in reality, it was far from reaching the bottom of the ocean. It was a bit like an inverted cone, appearing at a depth of more than half of the seawater, and the whole thing was in the shape of a blue tornado erupting upwards.

The node that was first pierced was this space. Now, there was simply no room for seawater to move here. Although it did not reach the deepest part of the ocean, logically, there should not be any light at this depth in the middle; it should be completely pitch black. However, even without getting close, Riku could see the dazzling blue light.

Through the air bubble, there was a beautiful blue tornado spinning in the deep seawater. There was no sound at all, but the more silent it was, the more one could feel that wordless grandeur. No matter how many times he had seen this spectacular sight, Riku was deeply shocked by this power.

And at this moment, next to this blue inverted tornado, with the help of its light, Riku could see many Siren swimming around. The water currents in their hands seemed to have turned into translucent ropes, and these ropes bound many huge, large shadows. The light of Blue Sea One could only illuminate one side of them; the other side was completely dark.

Riku knew what these huge shadows were—Fiends.

And most of them were terrifying beings that, on land, he would have to flee from just by seeing them from a distance. And if he were to be targeted, he would have to sacrifice the lives of his companions to lure them away to ensure that more people could survive... but that was his past self.

These colossal beings that once oppressed the lives of all Imanity were now floating helplessly in the sea, allowing those playful Siren to swim on their bodies and play hide-and-seek among their sharp teeth. To be honest, calling this not being lazy was a bit... Ahem. However, for the Siren, as long as they could get things done while playing, even if it was a bit slow, it was already something that Su'er and Riku would thank the heavens for.

"How is it~, we did a great job, didn't we! No one was lazy!" Jasmine slowly swayed her tail fin and came in front of Riku and Schwi. She put her hands on her hips and said proudly.

Behind her, those lively Siren were still playing hide-and-seek among the Fiends' sharp teeth. To be honest, if you could call this not being lazy, it was a bit... Ahem. However, for the Siren, as long as they could get things done while playing, even if it was a bit slow, it was already something that Su'er and Riku would be very grateful for.

"Ah, that's amazing. We really owe it to you," Riku immediately nodded and praised them. "To be honest, without your help, we really don't know what we would have done. You are truly the best allies!"

Riku's string of words made Jasmine entire body almost float—she was literally floating.

While dealing with the Siren queen's entanglement, Riku's eyes remained on those unconscious Fiends. He could see that the Siren, who had grown tired of playing, were using water ropes to drag these Fiends and toss them toward the Blue Sea One in the front.

Even though a few of the Fiends could barely react, their power was inevitably diminished in the seawater, not to mention that the Siren had a dominant power in the water. The final result was that the Fiends were sent into the sea of spirit with almost no resistance—they melted and disappeared, until only the purest blue flame was left.

There was no action that could be called a struggle. There was no violent reaction until the end of their lives. Riku absolutely did not believe that melting in the spirit, with every molecule of their bodies being assimilated into the most basic spirit, was a painless process. But these Fiends were always like this.

The great vitality that came from their huge size, the superposition of these two things made the process seem even longer and clearer. These Fiends were definitely not in a stage where they had lost their lives and become corpses. Sometimes, just thinking about this terrifying process would make Riku's hair stand on end.

The Siren's power naturally could not do this. In fact, many times they were too lazy to even do this. The only power that truly made these Fiends walk toward death without any resistance was the power of the person he was so familiar with—Su'er.

What have you become...

Riku himself couldn't even admit it. After so many years, the kind of emotion he felt when facing Su'er was an instinctual one... fear.

Perhaps sensing Riku's mood at this moment, and his suddenly heavy expression, Schwi reached out and grabbed the white-haired man's hand, enveloping it with both of hers.

"This should be the last batch," Shaking his head to shake off all the useless and jumbled thoughts in his mind, Riku took a deep breath and looked at Jasmine, saying, "Thank you so much for your help over the years. For some reasons, Su'er could not come in person, but he wants me to thank you seriously on his behalf. You are definitely not the idiots that other races call you; you are the most loyal and helpful allies."

"Please be sure to stay away from the land from now on—anyway, let's have fun together again when the great war is over."

Speaking in a light tone, Riku wanted to say goodbye in a way that the Siren could accept as much as possible.

"Ah, Su'er can't come? It's been a long time since I've seen him..." Jasmine looked a little disappointed, but she quickly cheered up. "Well~, anyway, we have a deal! When the great war is over, you and Su'er have to come and play with me! You will definitely succeed!"

The blue-haired Siren showed a naive smile, and she was sincerely wishing them well.

"Yes, we will," Riku also smiled and took one last look at the Fiends that were destined to perish here.

After such a long period of dormancy, Su'er finally said the words that all Imanity had been waiting for for a long time—

[The preparations are almost complete... I can gradually feel that pulsation...]

[Come back... my compatriots...]

[Our next plan... is about to begin...]
