The car moved smoothly over the path leading out of the pack's territory. I sat between Damien and Magnus, with Xavier lounging across from me, his legs casually stretched out.
"You're awfully quiet, Little Wolf," Magnus remarked, his eyes narrowing slightly. He gently reached over to place a hand on my forehead. "You feel warm."
My cheeks were paler than usual. "I'm fine," I said quickly, brushing his hand away with a weak smile. "Just… a little queasy. It's probably from all the excitement."
Damien frowned and scanned me intently. "You didn't eat much earlier. That might be it." He reached into a small compartment beside him and pulled out a water bottle. "Drink this. Slowly."
I took it gratefully, sipping the cool water as Xavier leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. His eyes softened as he studied me.
"If you're not feeling up to this, we can turn around."
