Eden wasn't surprised. He had seen that coming. But he was surprised that Adrian didn't doubt him, that he believed him even without concrete proof.
"You've caused a potential war, so everyone hates you more now," Adrian smiled. "You'll probably be safe here, at least."
"Thanks," Eden said to Adrian and Helen. "For saving me."
"Don't mention it. I'll always do so for people I like," Adrian smiled. "If you wish to repay me, you could always be my lover."
Helen and Lenny looked up, staring at Adrian. They probably couldn't get used to how shameless the Grand Marquis could be when it came to flirting.
Eden was already used to it. "Maybe if you spoke less, I would consider it."
"Okay. I'll speak less, my love," Adrian said.
