Sin heard Orochimaru's words and turned his gaze toward Saitama. There was no flicker of emotion in Sin's eyes—just numbness and blankness, the only thing Saitama could read from him.
"If that's all, I'm out!"
Saitama lifted his leg and walked away. To him, Sin wasn't particularly appealing—though he found his body intriguing, as it was extremely rare in the Shinobi World to accept any type of cell without rejection.
"You're not interested, Saitama-kun? Makes sense, though. After all, your body isn't any worse than Sin's!"
Orochimaru had seen plenty of Saitama's weird quirks over time. He knew that Saitama had somehow come into possession of Hashirama's cells and could use [Wood Release].
He followed Saitama outside and shut the heavy iron door that was thick with seals.
"Oh right, you wanted me to improve [Impure World Reincarnation] last time. Want to check out how it turned out?"
Walking side by side with Saitama, Orochimaru suddenly said.
"Already finished?" Saitama asked with slight surprise. Thanks to Saitama's guidance, Orochimaru had gradually shifted his research focus toward Kekkei Genkai. Although he still worked on kinjutsu, he no longer seemed as passionate about it as he once was before.
"Let's give it a try!" Orochimaru licked his lips, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
Under Orochimaru's guidance, Saitama twisted and turned through several passages before arriving at a wide enclosed space.
"No wonder they call the Second Hokage the greatest jutsu master in the Shinobi World—he created a technique like [Impure World Reincarnation] that messes with life and death itself!"
"But this technique has several flaws—it collapses easily and is hard to control. I've spent a lot of time reinforcing those weaknesses and improving the experimental subjects used for the technique."
Saitama silently listened to Orochimaru talk. In terms of researching forbidden techniques, he knew Orochimaru was the most authoritative expert.
From a nearby prison cell, Orochimaru yanked out two test subjects—twisted, broken figures barely recognizable as human—and without flinching, dragged them straight up to Saitama.
Saitama looked at the two people Orochimaru held, frowned slightly, but remained silent.
"I've noticed that if the reincarnation vessel is too powerful, the chance of collapse increases greatly. But if the vessel is weak, the summoned ninja won't be all that strong either."
"So far, I haven't found the perfect vessel. However, I discovered that vessels implanted with Hashirama's cells are the least likely to collapse after reincarnation, and the summoned ninja show the strongest power."
"But as you know, normal people struggle to integrate Hashirama's cells. And the only successful case we have is Sin—I'd hate to waste him on something like this."
Orochimaru shrugged helplessly.
"What about cloning technology? Haven't you already mastered that?"
Saitama glanced at Orochimaru. He clearly remembered how Danzo's arm originally belonged to Sin.
As part of their collaboration, Orochimaru had transplanted a Sharingan into Sin's right arm, which he then gave to Danzo in exchange for cooperation.
As for the arms currently attached to Sin's body, they were cultivated later using Hashirama's cells.
"Yeah, nothing gets past Saitama's eyes, huh!"
"Cloning technology is excellent, but the conditions are extremely harsh. Even clones are quite precious to me!"
Orochimaru smiled slightly, his golden pupils glancing toward the two fallen experiment specimens lying on the ground.
Saitama leaned aside, preparing to watch Orochimaru's performance.
Although he had already mastered the [Impure World Reincarnation] jutsu, he lacked the talent for improvement.
Placing the two unconscious ninja on the ground, Orochimaru slowly walked behind one of them.
[Impure World Reincarnation]
As Orochimaru formed ninja seals, layers of black runes emerged from beneath the reincarnation vessel, quickly enveloping it entirely.
Boom! Orochimaru slammed his palm onto the ground. Chakra burst forth from his body and, using the runes as a conduit, flowed into the vessel.
"Ahhh..." Even though Orochimaru had already knocked the vessel unconscious, it still let out a scream at this moment.
"Who could it be?" Saitama only saw Orochimaru dropping a few drops of blood onto the runes, unsure exactly whose soul was being summoned back.
Similar to Konan's [Paper Clone], the vessel began to rise, countless grayish-yellow paper-like shreds wrapping around it.
Saitama narrowed his eyes. Though he didn't yet know who was being reincarnated, he could feel the vessel's power surging rapidly to its peak.
"Though limited by the vessel, the reincarnated warrior can't yet reach full strength—but for now, this is already the best possible outcome. Once I develop cloning technology to the point of mass production, this ninjutsu will truly reveal its full potential."
Orochimaru thought of something, dangerous amusement spreading across his face.
Saitama remained silent. His collaboration with Orochimaru was limited to mutual assistance—he could offer help to Orochimaru, while Orochimaru helped refine the [Impure World Reincarnation] technique.
As for the vessels required for reincarnation, Saitama, being from another world, knew that White Zetsu clones would make the perfect medium.
"Oh, it's him?" Finally recognizing who Orochimaru had summoned, Saitama curved his lips upward.
"Unexpectedly successful on the first attempt!" Orochimaru himself seemed a bit surprised too. Though he had improved the jutsu, the success rate still wasn't very high, especially for someone who possessed formidable power before death.
"It's been a long time, Sakumo!" Orochimaru stared intently at the newly reincarnated figure in front of him, who still appeared dazed.
"You're... Orochimaru?" Sakumo Hatake narrowed his eyes, attempting to move his body but found himself unable to do so.
He spotted the hand seal Orochimaru was forming with both hands. Although he couldn't determine the reason behind his return from death, he was certain all this originated from Orochimaru.
"That's right, Sakumo! Today I simply summoned you to test this technique."
Orochimaru licked his lips. Sakumo had gained fame even before the [Sannin]. As a lone fighter, his skill was unmatched—even Orochimaru wasn't sure he could beat White Fang in his prime.
"There's no need to struggle—it's the Second's [Impure World Reincarnation]. I've deliberately strengthened my control over it."
Watching Sakumo closely, Orochimaru noted the flicker of resistance in his eyes.
Sakumo didn't speak, but he noticed Saitama standing with his arms crossed, quietly observing the situation.
"What's your take on this, Saitama?" Orochimaru asked, hands still in the ninja seal that kept Sakumo immobilized.
"Not bad at all. How many can you control right now?" Saitama inspected Sakumo, a legendary shinobi once renowned across the ninja world, raising an eyebrow as he questioned Orochimaru.
"If it's someone at Sakumo's level, I can control up to three for now. If they're regular jonin-level shinobi, I could handle about twenty."
Orochimaru didn't bother keeping that a secret.
Saitama nodded thoughtfully, gauging the difference in strength between them.
"What exactly are you two up to?" Sakumo said in a calm yet serious tone, sensing something unusual from Orochimaru's demeanor.
"You'll find out eventually! Sakumo!"
With rapid hand seals, Orochimaru activated his technique. As Sakumo was about to speak, his eyelids suddenly dropped heavily, and darkness swallowed him.
Following Orochimaru's movements, a coffin burst forth from underground and stood upright behind Sakumo.
Thump! Under Orochimaru's control, Sakumo was guided into the coffin. Then Orochimaru sealed it away using a summoning technique.
[Reincarnation Vessel] isn't ideal, but this particular Impure World reincarnation still has research value.
Orochimaru turned around to explain.
"I'll give you the improved version of the jutsu shortly."
"Sure!" Saitama replied without hesitation.
"I'm headed to *Mist* soon. I won't be around for a bit."
"Got it."
"Any movement from Danzo lately?"
Saitama continued. In recent years, he had constantly harassed Danzo, yet never found the chance to kill him.
After all, even with Saitama's strength, storming into Konoha to kill Danzo would be too risky.
"Hmm… I expected you to wait longer than that."
Orochimaru's voice came out hoarse and seductive.
"I helped him overcome his physical limitations last time. Recently, he should be making a trip to the Land of Grass—he's probably going after something there."
Orochimaru paused briefly before handing over intelligence on Danzo to Saitama without hesitation.
