Chapter 117 - Chapter 117: The Scattered white child

Rooftops and house peaks were like flat ground beneath Renji's feet. He leaped and ran across them at an astonishing speed, heading straight for the uninhabited zone at the city's edge.

His plan was to lead Reze there first, to minimize casualties. Reze was genuinely strong—her physical stats were nearly on par with his, making auxiliary abilities like Zong He's insights practically useless.

And her bomb ability was simply overwhelming. Her destructive power was astonishing, and the visual impact was spectacular—both cool and devastating!

Renji had also used the Future Devil's ability several times to glimpse ahead. The Future Devil's power wasn't merely foreseeing the future—it was seeing it, and even allowing him to change it, diverging into unknown paths.

Before Renji acted, any sudden shift in his movement led to a different progression of events. Though he could only see three seconds ahead, within those three seconds he could make different choices, rendering the future unpredictable even to himself.

But against Reze, it was clearly failing. Her bomb ability was too unfair—Renji couldn't get close at all without being blown away in excruciating pain. Only if Reze actively approached him could he act; otherwise, approaching her meant instant detonation.

Suddenly, explosions echoed from behind, growing more urgent and louder.

Renji's heart tightened. He glanced back, his gaze piercing through layers of clouds, and saw a figure in the high sky rapidly closing the distance at terrifying speed.

That was Reze. Her legs were constantly exploding and reforming, converting the force of each detonation into propulsion—she had truly become a living intercontinental missile.

Renji leaped from the rooftop and began sprinting along the road. He looked around—the street was empty, deserted. The surrounding shops and residential areas were dilapidated, long abandoned.

Fortunately, he had reached the uninhabited zone. Renji breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

A dazzling streak of light tore across the dark night sky above. With a thunderous boom, the intercontinental missile slammed onto the road ahead of him, blasting a massive crater into the pavement. Smoke and dust billowed, gravel flying.

"Deliberately running to the uninhabited area outside the city… Renji really is a gentle man."

Flames from the explosion began to lick across the road, fire leaping skyward. Amid the pervasive smoke and dust, Reze emerged from the huge crater.

The Clothesline Pole materialized in Renji's hands. He gripped it tightly, assuming a combat stance.

"Reze, that kiss of yours was deadly. That snake-tongue was too much—I nearly suffocated. And you admitted yourself, you're just as hopeless a pervert as I am. From your perspective at the time, I should have been unconscious, right?"

"Tch. So you were pretending after all, you big liar."

The next second, Reze's body surface began to ripple with a distorted texture, blurring—and then she vanished from the spot!

Renji's pupils contracted sharply. He sensed someone behind him—Reze. Her speed was even faster than he'd imagined, fast enough to leave an afterimage.

The Future Devil's foresight activated at the crucial moment. The scene three seconds later flashed clearly in his mind: sparks emerging from Reze's fingertips, striking his back, the explosive force blasting him away.

Renji didn't hesitate. He immediately rolled right to evade—but the aftershock still caught him. During the roll, the Clothesline Pole was knocked from his grip by the blast and sent flying.

While rolling, Renji held his breath and concentrated. As he flipped up and steadied himself, his own body began to ripple, turning into an afterimage.

He closed with Reze. The battle instantly reached a fever pitch. Their figures crisscrossed rapidly on the street, explosions echoing one after another in the air.

Finding Reze's opening, Renji landed a kick to her abdomen, sending her flying backward.

Reze adjusted her posture midair. Sparks flashed beneath her feet, tracing an arc as she glided smoothly to the ground. At the same time, countless sparks began to float from her body once more.

The sparks flared.

Several explosions rang out in quick succession. Reze's spark bombs rained down on Renji. He tried to dodge—but then noticed sparks beginning to appear on the parts of his armor that had just made contact with Reze.

"I—"

—Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!—

Renji's body began to detonate like a string of firecrackers. He simply couldn't evade the spark bombs Reze hurled. They flew before his eyes—followed by another series of violent, continuous explosions.

Renji was once again blasted into the air, crashing through the front of a dilapidated convenience store on the right side of the street and tumbling inside.

"Give it up, Renji. You can't beat me. I can tell—you don't have much real combat experience. You haven't been through this kind of thing many times, have you?"

Just then, a dark shadow shot out from the side like a ghost, attacking Reze from her blind spot. Kato Kari grunted, instantly channeling force into her leg, and delivered a vicious kick toward Reze.

"——A-da!——"

Having learned from the Shark Fiend's attack, Reze reacted instantly. She spun, raising both arms and crossing them to block Kato Kari's sharp kick.

A heavy thud echoed. Reze successfully blocked the strike—but the immense impact still sent her skidding backward, carving two deep gouges into the asphalt.

Kato Kari leaped high again, soaring into the air above Reze. Her full, proud breasts began to rapidly shrink, flattening into an airport runway in the blink of an eye.

In contrast, her thighs swelled like balloons, solid muscle tissue expanding to the extreme. Using the force of her descent, she plummeted toward Reze with the unstoppable weight of a mountain.

But this time, facing Kato Kari's assault, Reze calmly extended one arm above her head.

In an instant, under the overwhelming force—accompanied by a deafening roar—the hard road below could not withstand the pressure and shattered into deep, radiating cracks.

Centered on Reze, the surrounding asphalt curled upward, forming a bizarre, circular crater of fragmented rock.

But Reze was unharmed.

She stood steady in place, not even her C4 bomb apron stirring.

"No way!"

Kato Kari landed hard, her voice filled with disbelief.

"Is that for real?! That was my full-power attack just now! And she blocked it with one hand?!"

The swollen muscle tissue in her thighs receded, and Kato Kari's flat chest once again swelled into her proud, gravity-defying breasts—the kind that blocked her view of her own feet when she looked down.

She shouted loudly.

"Kobeni! Change of plan!!! This Weapon Human is too strong! We can't beat her!!! Strategic retreat!!!"

Kato Kari bolted into a nearby alley at full speed, then glanced back to shout at Reze.

"That's it! I'm out! Please don't chase me! Otherwise, I'm dead for sure!"

Reze's gaze lingered for a moment on the alley where Kato Kari had vanished. She chose not to pursue, instead slowly turning to look at Kobeni, who was hiding behind a streetlamp.

Kobeni's hands, gripping a short knife, trembled uncontrollably. She was trapped—fear written plainly across her face.

"—Eh—?! Only… I'm the only one left?!!!"

Tears welled in the corners of her eyes. Her voice choked with sobs. Her legs gave way beneath her, and she collapsed to her knees on the ground.

"Legs, legs…! My legs won't move! Waaaaahhh! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Please let me go! Don't kill me! Don't kill me! I'll resign right now! Please, just let me go!!!"

Kobeni's voice was filled with despair and desperate pleading. She bent low at the waist, pressing her forehead to the ground in a perfect dogeza before Reze. She dared not look up—only kept her head down, begging for mercy.

As the water bottle at her waist repeatedly collided with the ground, its lid was jarred loose. A thick, viscous white liquid spilled out, splashing onto the asphalt and emitting an indescribable odor.

The sudden change made Kobeni even more frantic. Her mind went blank. Instinct took over—she forgot about groveling, sat up straight, grabbed the bottle from her waist, and began desperately trying to scoop the spilled white liquid back inside.
