Ayla pretended not to see the black bag she quickly moved behind her back and pointed at the door innocently.
"Miss Simmons, I'm glad to have met you so early in the morning. I wanted to surprise my husband by coming home early, but in so doing, I might've forgotten my keys at the office."
"Uh, I-I think there's a… the door is open." Elena lost her eloquence and stuttered halfway, even pausing to scratch the bridge of her nose nervously.
"Oh, it is?" Ayla feigned surprise and reached to push the door open.
When it opened, she smiled and turned toward Elena with a gleeful smile. "You're a lifesaver, Miss Simmons. What are you doing outside though?"
"I understand waking up early, but you're not in jogging clothes, so I doubt you went for a jog."
The light outside the door was directly on Ayla's face, so Elena could see her clearly.
After analyzing the look in her eyes, she exhaled in relief, seeing there was no hint of suspicion in them.
