Chapter 555 - Chapter 555: Universe Nine's Final Stand

The Tournament of Power arena churned with chaos. Lightning crackled across the fractured battlefield while flames scorched the air, each flash illuminating another warrior's desperate struggle for survival. Bodies tumbled through the void as eliminated fighters vanished in bursts of light, teleported to the spectator stands to watch their universe's fate unfold. The clash of energy and flesh created a symphony of destruction that echoed across the World of Void.

Two minutes into the battle, Universe Nine had maintained its full roster—a minor miracle given the carnage erupting around them. Supreme Kai Roh exhaled quietly, allowing himself a moment of relief. The reprieve shattered instantly as his God of Destruction, Sidra, leaped to his feet.

"Excellent! Warriors of Universe Nine, maintain the momentum!" Sidra's voice cracked with enthusiasm. "Trio of Danger, coordinate your assault! Drive them to the edge!"

"Everyone, push together!"

"That's it! More pressure!"

Sidra's shrill encouragement grated against the ears of every deity in the stands. The mouse-like God of Destruction bounced on his toes, treating every minor advantage as if the tournament had already been won. His voice climbed higher with each shout, celebrating victories that hadn't materialized. In reality, not a single fighter from Universe Nine exceeded Super Saiyan 2 level strength—they were outclassed on every front.

Raditz's eyes narrowed as he glanced at the overexcited deity. "Hey. Can you keep it down? Some of us are trying to watch the actual fight."

Sidra whirled on him, whiskers twitching with indignation. "I'll cheer as loudly as I want! There's no rule against it, Saiyan. Or are you trying to control that too?"

"No rule, sure." Raditz's tone remained level, though his jaw tightened. "But your screeching is making my ears bleed. Show some dignity."

"Then eliminate us if you're so confident!" Sidra's nose wrinkled as he sneered. "If you can't back up that arrogance, don't tell me how to support my warriors!"

Supreme Kai Roh watched the exchange with growing alarm. This was spiraling out of control. Universe Seven's fighters vastly outclassed their own, and they'd already secured an alliance with Universe Four. Antagonizing Raditz now would be catastrophic—

"Elimination?" Raditz rose to his full height, his presence suddenly dominating the stands. His voice carried across the spectator area like thunder. "You think that's difficult?"

He turned toward the arena, cupping his hands around his mouth. "Universe Seven! New priority—eliminate every single fighter from Universe Nine! Clear them from the ring!"

Supreme Kai Roh grabbed Sidra's arm. "Stop this! Don't let your pride drag our fighters into—"

But Sidra jerked free, his expression defiant despite the fear flickering in his eyes. His mind raced through the calculations: Universe Nine was weak, yes, but they'd allied with Universe Four. The Fourth Universe wouldn't abandon them this early, not when the tournament had barely begun. They'd have to intervene, maintain the alliance—

The command echoed across the arena, impossible to miss. Every fighter, from every universe, processed what Raditz had just declared. Eliminate Universe Nine? First? That blatantly?

Down on the battlefield, Goku deflected a strike and flickered toward Vegeta's position. "Brother's got a new strategy. Vegeta, let's go help—"

"Hmph." Vegeta blasted an opponent away with a ki wave, not even glancing at Goku. "Those weaklings aren't worth our time. Let the others handle them. If you want to play babysitter, do it yourself."

Goku scratched the back of his head, then caught Gohan's eye across the arena. Father and son shared a look—no words needed. They shifted their attention to the Trio of Danger, Universe Nine's strongest fighters, and began closing in.

Across the battlefield, the rest of Universe Seven moved with coordinated precision. Piccolo's cape billowed as he charged toward Chappil, the metallic Iron Warrior. Android 17 pivoted smoothly, targeting Oregano, the frozen-masked fighter who wielded poison. Tapion and Tarble wove through the chaos, converging on a cluster of Universe Nine warriors—a cat-like fighter, a fish-man, and a rabbit creature who looked completely outmatched.

The Trio of Danger—three wolf brothers with fur in different shades—found themselves facing Goku and Gohan. Bergamo, the eldest with grey fur, stood flanked by his siblings: Lavender with his purple coat and poisonous attacks, and Basil, the youngest, whose red fur marked him as the fastest of the three.

"Brother!" Basil twisted mid-air, narrowly avoiding Gohan's punch. His powerful legs launched him toward Bergamo. "Time to show them what we're really made of!"

"Agreed!" Bergamo's eyes gleamed. "Lavender, unleash everything!"

The Trio had tested themselves against these Saiyans before, in the exhibition matches. They knew Goku and Gohan's baseline power. Confidence surged through their veins. Lavender's hands began secreting toxic gas, purple mist curling between his clawed fingers. His grin turned vicious.

"Don't take this personally," Lavender said, though his tone suggested he'd enjoy it either way. "We're all fighting for our homes. Our families. Our universe."

"Fair enough." Goku glanced at Gohan, and understanding passed between them with a single nod. "Then I guess we should get serious too."

The three wolves tensed. What did that mean? Were they going to—

WHOOOM!

Golden light exploded outward, forcing the Trio to shield their eyes. When they looked again, Goku and Gohan stood wreathed in brilliant auras of gold flame. Their hair spiked upward, defying gravity. Their eyes gleamed teal, and their power—their presence—expanded exponentially, making the very air around them shimmer with heat and pressure.

The transformation sent shockwaves rippling across the arena. Fighters from every universe paused, even for a split second, to register the sudden spike in energy.

"Now!" Lavender struck first, desperation overriding caution. His poison-coated hand shot forward, aiming to pierce through Gohan's defenses—

He hit empty air.

A chill ran down Lavender's spine. Before he could process what happened, he felt breath on the back of his neck. Ice flooded his veins.

Behind me?!

Gohan's hand chopped down in a brutal strike, catching Lavender at the base of his skull. The purple wolf's head snapped forward. His jaw cracked against the arena floor with sickening force, and stars exploded across his vision.

Basil, known throughout Universe Nine for his incredible speed, saw his opening. He launched himself at Goku, channeling all his ki into his legs. This technique had never failed him—the force, the velocity, the precision—

THOOM.

Goku caught Basil's kick with one hand. He didn't move. Didn't even shift his footing. He stood perfectly still, as immovable as a mountain, while Basil's leg trembled in his grip.

"You... you..." Basil's voice cracked. His body hung suspended in the air, all his momentum nullified by a single palm.

"That stung a little," Goku said, and his tone carried genuine respect. "You've got real power behind that kick."

To the Trio of Danger, the compliment sounded like mockery. Bergamo roared, his fur bristling. He charged at Goku, fists flying in a brutal combination. Each punch carried increasing force—his special ability allowed him to grow stronger as he absorbed damage and unleashed it back on his opponents.

The three wolves attacked relentlessly, unleashing everything they had. Poison gas, lightning-fast strikes, power-absorbing punches—techniques of purple, red, and grey energy lit up their section of the arena, threatening to drown out even the golden glow of Super Saiyan transformation.

In the stands, Sidra applauded frantically, his earlier confidence returning. Raditz didn't even spare him a glance.

Near the center stage, Universe Four's fighters hesitated. Quitela, their God of Destruction—a rat-like deity—watched the scene unfold with calculating eyes. After a long moment, he shook his head almost imperceptibly. His fighters remained where they were.

The alliance wouldn't save Universe Nine today.

Elsewhere on the battlefield, the domination was already complete. Tarble and Tapion moved in perfect synchronization, using Hirudegarn's phantom form as cover while they swept through three Universe Nine fighters like a knife through paper. The fish-man never even got a chance to attack before a tail strike sent him careening off the stage.

Android 17 demolished Oregano with surgical precision. One punch shattered his frozen mask. Another collapsed his sternum. The third launched him into the void, his silk-thread techniques utterly useless against her overwhelming power.

Piccolo's assault on Chappil was equally brutal. The Iron Warrior's metallic hide gave him durability and fire breath, but after barely two exchanges, Piccolo had mapped out every weakness. A Destructive Wave blasted Chappil's legs from under him, and a final strike hurled the metallic warrior off the edge.

The Trio of Danger watched their teammates disappear one by one, golden elimination lights flashing in their peripheral vision. Panic crept into their movements. They threw everything they had at Goku and Gohan—every technique, every ounce of strength—but the father-son duo barely seemed winded.

"Now!" Bergamo's teeth ground together. "Our ultimate attack! Give it everything!"

The three brothers leaped back simultaneously, forming a perfect triangle. Energy crackled between them as they synchronized their ki. "TRIANGLE DANGER BEAM!"

"Gohan!" Goku called out.

Father and son moved as one, their hands cupping at their sides. As the Trio's combined energy gathered into a spiraling beam of destruction, blue light began to glow between the Saiyans' palms.

"KA... ME... HA... ME..."

"HAAAAAA!"

Twin waves of azure energy erupted from their hands, merging into a single colossal blast. The Kamehameha collided with the Triangle Danger Beam in a spectacular explosion of light and sound. The shockwave rippled outward, forcing other fighters to brace themselves or be thrown off balance.

Energy warfare—this was where Saiyans truly excelled. The moment a beam struggle began, something primal awakened in their blood. Goku's grin widened, feral and excited. It didn't matter if his opponent was weaker or stronger—the thrill of pushing himself, of pouring every drop of power into the clash, made his Saiyan heart sing.

"RRRAAAAAH!"

Goku's shout shook the arena. His aura blazed brighter, golden lightning crackling around his form. The Kamehameha suddenly doubled in size, the blue energy wave expanding like a tsunami.

The Trio of Danger's eyes widened. The balance they'd barely maintained shattered in an instant.

"No—!"

Their feet skidded backward. Behind them, the edge of the arena yawned like an abyss. The Kamehameha's force was overwhelming, pushing them back inch by terrible inch until—

Their heels hit empty air.

Bergamo, Basil, and Lavender plummeted into the void together, their combined attack scattered like smoke in a hurricane. Three golden lights flashed as they were eliminated.

"Almost... almost free..." A small, winged fighter from Universe Nine flapped desperately away from the carnage. He was tiny, easily overlooked in the chaos. If he could just stay out of sight, maybe—

SZZZZT.

A purple energy beam lanced through his wing like a needle through cloth. The remaining force of the blast carried him off the edge before he could even scream. As he fell into the void, he caught a glimpse of his attacker—a figure with a lizard-like tail, white and purple armor, and a cruel smirk.

Frieza...

"Frieza..." Sidra collapsed to his knees in the stands, his lips trembling. "It's... it's over..."

Every fighter from Universe Nine had been eliminated.

Frieza examined his finger where the Death Beam had fired, then glanced up at Universe Nine's stand with cold amusement. "How delightful. I do so rarely agree with Raditz's decisions, but this?" His cruel smile widened. "In any universe honored by my presence, such overwhelming dominance is only appropriate. Ohohohoho..."
