Initially, Raditz couldn't place who Abo and Kado were, assuming they were unknown minor figures. But after the captives from Delutha's group explained, Raditz suddenly remembered their identities.
Along with this recollection came the memory of another Saiyan—Vegeta's younger brother—Tarble!
Also a prince of Planet Vegeta, Tarble had been sent to a low-level planet due to his exceptionally weak combat power at birth, which inadvertently saved his life. The difference in their status was evident even in their names: Vegeta was named directly after Planet Vegeta itself, while Tarble bore a more ordinary name. Vegeta had never even mentioned his younger brother's existence.
This highlighted the emotional detachment among Saiyans—even the royal family cared only about fighting ability, with no regard for familial bonds. In contrast, Bardock and Gine possessed the warmth of heart that sentient beings should have, forming genuine connections with each other and their children.
Fortunately, Tarble had been sent away; otherwise, he would have inevitably perished in the planet's destruction.
Unlike Goku, however, Tarble didn't possess the protagonist's extraordinary luck.
After confirming Tarble's existence, the idea of gathering all surviving Saiyans in the universe took shape in Raditz's mind. There must be more than just Tarble and Goku who were born with low combat potential. Surely other Saiyans were scattered throughout various regions of the universe, still alive!
Though they were classified as low-level fighters at birth, who could say whether some might possess hidden potential like Goku?
"Very well, I'll head to Planet Phaeda."
Raditz's time on Yardrat had passed in what felt like the blink of an eye.
For three months, he had focused exclusively on developing special techniques, limiting his raw power growth. Meanwhile on Earth, Vegeta and the others had likely used the gravity chamber to reach even higher levels! And what of the Frost Demon Clan? How had they reacted to recent events? What had happened to Piccolo after the explosion—where had he gone? Many unknowns remained as potential sources of instability.
It was time to leave.
Raditz made his decision. The next day, he bid farewell to Master Pybara, then teleported to Soba and the elders to explain his intention to depart.
The Yardrats were warm and hospitable people who understood the importance of gratitude. Raditz had introduced them to unprecedented culinary delights, taught them how to properly prepare meat and fish, and recently drove away invaders. They remembered these kindnesses and deeply respected Raditz, even expressing reluctance about his departure.
Faced with their insistent hospitality, Raditz initially considered staying a few more days. However, the attention from some overly enthusiastic "beautiful" Yardrat females quickly dispelled any notion of extending his visit, strengthening his resolve to leave.
He boarded his spacecraft without looking back and launched skyward with a powerful burst.
...
As the ship soared into space, Raditz exhaled a long sigh of relief. It wasn't that he wanted to criticize the Yardrats' aesthetic sensibilities, but he simply couldn't endure that particular brand of "beauty."
Just as he was about to relax, a signal came through with Jaco's voice: "Mr. Raditz, have you received my coordinates? I'm en route to Planet Phaeda now."
"You're heading to Phaeda too?!" Raditz exclaimed in surprise.
"The Galactic King was extremely pleased with my performance, so he entrusted me with the important mission of apprehending Abo and Kado."
There was no logical connection between these statements—outstanding performance might warrant promotion and a salary increase, but not assignment to such a dangerous mission. Raditz smiled as the realization dawned:
"I think you're exaggerating a bit, aren't you?"
"Well..." Jaco, not particularly skilled at deception, hesitated before eventually confessing, "To obtain information about Abo and Kado, I claimed I could arrest them. However, I believe there shouldn't be a problem with two of us working together."
"Two people? You're not counting me among them, are you?"
"Indeed I am! As part of rehabilitating the Saiyan reputation, I've listed you as my official assistant. We can share the credit equally. The Galactic King will use this mission to evaluate the true nature of Saiyans," Jaco declared confidently.
Honestly, who cared about the Galactic King's approval? For decades, Saiyans had never sought the King's validation—why start now? But since Jaco had gathered valuable intelligence for him, Raditz decided to help this once.
Besides, finding Tarble would inevitably lead to confrontation with Abo and Kado anyway.
"In that case, I don't even need coordinates. I'll just follow your signal directly."
Raditz abandoned his spacecraft and enveloped himself in a psychokinetic shield for complete protection. Saiyans couldn't survive in outer space, but they could maintain themselves within an energy barrier for several minutes.
Raditz focused intensely, searching the vast cosmos. During his previous encounter with Jaco, he had memorized the patrolman's energy signature, which he now used as a beacon. Countless beings populated the universe, each with their own unique aura. Traversing this ocean of energy signatures gave Raditz a taste of the infinite diversity of space life.
Finally, he detected a rapidly moving object emanating Jaco's distinct energy!
Raditz immediately initiated Instant Transmission and vanished from his location.
"WHOOSH!"
Suddenly a figure materialized inside Jaco's spacecraft—a man with long black hair resembling a terrifying apparition. Jaco was so startled that he jerked the control stick, sending the ship tumbling through space...
"Hello there. I'm Raditz."
"Where did you come from?!" Jaco exclaimed, his hands involuntarily releasing the controls.
"Don't panic—it's just the Yardrat teleportation technique. Surely you've seen it before?" Raditz grabbed the controls, stabilizing the spinning vessel.
"Whew... I thought only Yardrats could use that ability," Jaco muttered under his breath.
"I just learned it recently," Raditz replied. Once the ship had returned to a stable trajectory, he released his grip. "By the way, aren't you supposed to be an elite Galactic Patrolman? You're quite easily startled."
"Even Galactic Patrolmen get scared! Especially when someone materializes out of nowhere!"
Recognizing his mistake, Raditz stopped arguing and deliberately changed the subject: "Anyway, tell me about that Saiyan. What's his situation currently?"
"That Saiyan is called Tarble. He was sent to a remote asteroid by the Saiyans long ago, but due to his limited combat ability, he failed to complete his assigned mission. Later, he joined the planet's defense force and actually became something of a local hero." The more Saiyans Jaco encountered, the more he questioned his previous assumptions about them. "Some time ago, Abo and Kado arrived in this galaxy. To expand their weapons trading market, they instigated conflicts that engulfed Tarble's adopted planet. They've been at war for years now."
"And what about Tarble himself?"
"He's fought against Abo and Kado's forces multiple times without success. Currently, he appears to be in exile, moving between several planets. The latest intelligence places him on Planet Mikado. Beyond that, no other patrolmen have reported sightings."
Tarble couldn't even handle these two criminals' underlings? He truly was remarkably weak. Raditz thought to himself that he would help train Vegeta's younger brother, something Vegeta himself had never bothered to do.
