"Minamoto, why are you here so early?"
Early morning, Konohagakure Hospital.
Hatake Kakashi, still half-asleep, squinted at Kitagawa Minamoto, who was holding a bouquet of flowers. A wave of headache immediately washed over him.
"Kakashi-sensei, you're in the hospital again. Of course, I had to come see you."
"You really didn't have to..."
"No worries, no worries. I'll just put these flowers here for you."
Without giving Kakashi a chance to refuse, Minamoto placed the flowers in a vase and then sat down beside the bed.
"Wait a second, how did you even get flowers this early? The flower shop shouldn't be open yet."
Kakashi rubbed his head, trying to make sense of it. Minamoto, however, shrugged with a smile.
"I went early, but I got lucky and ran into Ino."
When he mentioned Ino, his lips twitched slightly.
He had noticed that Ino's hair was blonde.
The real reason he had come to the hospital so early was to avoid being pestered by a certain other blond troublemaker.
Yesterday's experience had convinced him that he couldn't handle another day of dealing with Naruto and Deidara.
He'd rather spend time with Kakashi instead. After all, it had been nearly a year since he graduated, and he'd been following Kakashi around the whole time.
"Mm, there's also Guy-sensei and Jiraiya-sama..."
Minamoto thought for a moment. It seemed like he hadn't had many teachers, but every single one of them was a top-tier shinobi.
Such treatment wasn't something an average person could hope to receive.
"Honestly, I think you just couldn't stand that brat from Iwagakure anymore, right?"
Kakashi rolled his eyes, now fully awake. He casually pulled out a book from under his pillow and began flipping through it.
"That brat is indeed a chatterbox, and a bit eccentric, but he doesn't seem like a bad person. Otherwise, the Third Tsuchikage wouldn't have taken him as a disciple."
"True. He's probably even grooming him to become the next Tsuchikage."
Minamoto nodded, leaning against the bed as he spoke.
"But he's just too eccentric. He kept insisting that I share his artistic vision. All I did was use the Flying Thunder God Technique in a simple way."
"Simple? That's far from simple, Minamoto."
Kakashi sighed deeply, recalling Minamoto's performance during their recent mission. He couldn't help but feel a mix of admiration and amazement.
It wasn't just him—Jiraiya, who had been directly involved, and even Hiruzen Sarutobi, who later learned the details, all felt the same way.
The sight of countless puppets filling the sky, only to be obliterated by Minamoto in an instant, was a spectacle none of them could forget.
Now they understood why Ōnoki had been so reactive.
"Too bad I didn't get to witness it myself..."
Hiruzen had sighed with regret after hearing the full account of the events.
By now, everyone agreed on one thing: as long as Minamoto stayed on the right path, his achievements would surpass even those of the Fourth Hokage.
"But you were too reckless."
Despite his admiration, Kakashi felt the need to "educate" his student. He hoped Minamoto would learn to protect himself better.
"Using such a high-profile technique in Iwagakure territory will only provoke the Third Tsuchikage. Remember that."
"But I didn't have many options at the time. It was the best response I could think of, and it worked, didn't it?"
Minamoto chuckled nonchalantly, clearly in a good mood.
"Unless, Kakashi-sensei, you're willing to teach me some even stronger techniques?"
"I can't help you there. You'll have to figure it out on your own."
Kakashi buried his face in his book. He would've liked to teach Minamoto more, but there wasn't much he could offer at this point.
Besides, he himself was still working on mastering his Mangekyō Sharingan abilities. His recent encounter with Itachi Uchiha had been a valuable learning experience.
"However, I can give you some ideas. Jiraiya-sama has probably mentioned this before: you can work on developing the Rasengan further.
The Rasengan doesn't have a Chakra nature inherently, so you could try adding your Purple Lightning to it.
Or, you could experiment with other Chakra natures.
Your Purple Lightning is already incredibly strong, and I see you're also trying to evolve it into a Lightning Release: Chakra Mode.
That's a great idea. Combining the two, I believe you'll become even stronger, Minamoto."
"Hmm."
Minamoto nodded. Kakashi had only gotten one thing wrong: his so-called "Lightning Release: Chakra Mode" was a complete facade.
"I've actually made decent progress with Purple Lightning. It still has a lot of potential for expansion, but the Rasengan is definitely worth exploring."
Purple Lightning had practically become his signature move.
Anyone in the Akatsuki who had fought him would undoubtedly recognize it.
As for the Rasengan, he hadn't used it much. But its greatest strength lay in its versatility.
"Could I integrate the Kekkei Genkai I've acquired into the Rasengan?"
The thought made Minamoto's eyes light up. It didn't seem impossible.
He hadn't yet figured out how to "legitimize" these Kekkei Genkai, but it felt wasteful not to use them.
After all, he had obtained them through his own hard work and effort.
"If I incorporate them into the Rasengan, wouldn't that be perfect?
And with Deidara still here, his clay explosions—though technically a Secret Technique—could serve as inspiration.
I could learn from that, right?"
Minamoto muttered to himself, realizing that this might be worth a try.
If he needed to explain it later, he could always call it a "Chakra Combination Secret Technique."
"Seems pretty feasible!"
Minamoto nodded to himself. This approach was definitely worth experimenting with, especially since he already had two Kekkei Genkai.

This latest bloodline enhancement had indeed made him even paler.
At this rate, he was starting to worry about more than just his skin tone.
If things continued, he might have to deal with horns sprouting from his forehead as well.
"By the way, Kakashi-sensei, what's so interesting about those books you always read?"

"You keep reading the same ones over and over. Don't you get bored?"
"They're good. No, I don't."
Kakashi shook his head, but Minamoto had already leaned in closer.
"How about this? Next time, let's go to the hot springs in the Land of Hot Water together!"

"Jiraiya-sama already agreed. I trust my Transformation Jutsu. Let's go together!"
"...!"
Kakashi immediately covered his face with his book.
He decided he would visit Hiruzen Sarutobi later.
Minamoto might surpass his teachers in ability, but his personality was far too troublesome.
Clearly, the education system in Konoha needed serious reform!
