Chapter 31 - Chapter 14: Utterly Helpless (Leo, Part One)

It had been weeks since the Eclipse Order had kidnapped me. Every day, I felt myself getting worse and worse. Every day, somebody would come in and shock me with this taser, but it wasn't a taser. I wasn't exactly sure what it was. This wasn't like every other taser; this taser would disrupt my moonlight energy, which wouldn't allow me to transform. On the even downer side, Henry loved to talk. He would go on and on for hours on end. He would tell me about his life, family, etc. I wanted so badly to tell him to shut up, but I could barely move.

Today was especially worse than normal. My arm was hanging off my bed, my entire body felt numb, and I could barely move, let alone speak. The one thing I actually wanted to know that Henry would never speak about was his powers ever. On my better days, I'd try to ask what his powers were, but he would never tell me. He must've been powerful. I heard one of the men say this was the most secure cell wherever we were. So, what did that mean Henry was? I also saw them give something to Henry each day but I could never tell what.

After hours, Henry finally paused. "You don't look so good, man." I wanted to reply with a sarcastic remark, but my lips wouldn't move to make the words. It was as if a shock of electricity because every moment id be jolted up. My hand had turned back into a human hand but then my foot turned into a bird's foot. I was stuck like that for a little while until today, when they shocked me again. Good news? My foot was back to normal! Bad news? Well, now I have a beak. Henry just laughed, but it was extremely uncomfortable. The only response I could give to Henry was a groan.

"What are they even doing to you, man?" He asked. I blinked a few times, but couldn't answer. Henry looked like he felt bad for me but I was too weak to do anything. "These runes have been affecting me ever since I got here. Have they done the same to you?" Henry asked. I couldn't speak, and Henry realized this so he continued to ramble on about stuff. I wanted so badly to tell him to shut up to just do something! Yet I couldn't it was as if I was trapped in my own body, my own mind, with nothing I could do about it. Henry sat right in front of me. "Why are you so heavily affected?" He inspected me.

He was about to put his hand on my arm when he pulled away. "No, not today." He stood up again and for the first time in a long time he was completely slient which felt nice. I closed my eyes hoping to fall asleep but today was clearly not my day because a guard came in. At this point, they were tired of carrying me so they brought in a wheelchair. He turned to Henry. "Get him in there, prisoner." He scoffed. "You do it." Henry replied.

They should've known by now that Henry wouldn't help them with me, he never did I was just his free therapist. The man grabbed me under the arms and lifted me up into the wheelchair. My entire body felt numb, and I could barely feel a thing. "Let's go come on." The man said. My body tilted to the side almost causing me to fall out, and he rolled his eyes. "Seriously." He chained me to the wheelchair. And here I was, he was wheeling me away, I was in a super uncomfortable position but I had no choice I wasn't strong enough to sit up. My nightmares had gotten worse everyday id watch Luna die because of me or i'd die in some way to atone for my sins maybe thats why I was still here.

Truth was? I hadn't really tried to get out I deserve this, for what I did for not being strong enough to fight Mimic. We arrived into a room I could barely see where we were my head was facing the floor. "Put him on a table." A voice with a Spanish accent said. I knew exactly who it was, Solara. Two people who I couldn't see lifted me up onto the table and my head felt like a bobble head. They laid me flat and Solara inspected me. "Why hello, Leo." She smiled. I didn't respond, not that I could respond. "The taser did this to him?" She asked. "Yes." One of them responded.

"No matter, he'll be released soon enough. Once we lure his sister here, we can put an end to his suffering." She put her hand through my hair. I wanted to grab her hand, to fight, to move, or even just defend Luna! I grabbed Solara's arm. "Leave my sister out of this." I wheezed, trying my hardest to hold on. She looked a little surprised. "Looks like there's a fighter in there after all, isn't there? Unfortunately, you will be punished for even thinking about disobeying,"

I let go of her arm too weak to keep holding on. She backed up. "Do it." Solara said. "But ma'am, look at him it could kill h-" She interrupted. "Do I look like I care? We need to set an example and show what happens when you try to disobey me. Now, it's time to show him." She pointed to Leo. He sighed. "Yes, ma'am." The man stood over me. "You shouldn't have disobeyed." He held something in his hands, something that looked like a box. He opened the box to reveal a ton of needles. Then, he injected me with something. At first, I felt nothing until the pain kicked in. I wanted to scream but I used all my energy I had left, grabbing Solara's arm.
