Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: I'm now in charge.

After seeing Chiga's face clearly, Cobra and Vivi both widened their eyes.

Vivi instinctively covered her mouth, her voice trembling with awe.

"Those eyes… that's Admiral Purple Kirin!"

Cobra nodded unconsciously. A moment later, an expression of sheer relief and excitement washed over his face.

He didn't care that Chiga was sitting on the royal throne—because when compared to a Marine Admiral, what was a king? A Warlord of the Sea could plunge his nation into crisis... but an Admiral, whose power exceeded even that, could shake the entire world.

And it wasn't just any Admiral. It was him—Admiral Purple Kirin.

His strength was widely acknowledged to be the greatest among the Admirals, and his reputation unmatched. Stories told of how he eradicated pirates with absolute justice and helped innocent civilians rebuild afterward.

He had recently liberated a kingdom from Blackbeard and even used his powers to reconstruct homes and restore the environment. In the eyes of the world, he was the ideal embodiment of justice—a flawless Marine Admiral.

Vivi gazed at Chiga with unconcealed admiration.

She was the deputy leader of the Sand-Sand Group, and their entire organization revered Admiral Purple Kirin as their symbol of hope. When they first formed, they had even bowed before a photograph of him as a sign of their ideals.

Kosa, their leader, was an even more devoted admirer. If he were here now, he might have dropped to his knees without hesitation.

Chiga was used to such reactions. He leaned lazily against one hand, his deep purple eyes flickering with a glint of amusement as he looked down at Vivi.

Among all the princesses in the world of pirates, Vivi was quite respected.

She had courage. She understood responsibility. Even at a young age, she was willing to sacrifice her own safety to infiltrate Baroque Works in order to save her kingdom.

Compared to someone like Kozuki Hiyori, who spent most of her time relying on others and only appeared near the end of Wano's crisis, Vivi was a princess who truly earned her people's loyalty.

Chiga rose from the throne, descending the steps at a measured pace toward the father and daughter.

Cobra and Vivi watched him approach, feeling an overwhelming presence settle upon them. The sheer pressure he exuded made their hearts race, their throats tighten.

Once Chiga reached them, he gave Cobra a respectful nod as acknowledgment of his status as king. Then he turned to Vivi and offered a faint smile.

"What you said just now… was admirable. As a princess, I acknowledge you."

"Eh?!"

Vivi froze in place. She hadn't expected praise from him. Her cheeks turned red with embarrassment, and she quickly averted her eyes from Chiga's striking face.

Cobra was proud of his daughter, but he couldn't help feeling a little envious.

Not because of her flustered reaction, but because—as a middle-aged man himself—he wished he could receive that same recognition from the Admiral.

But Chiga didn't forget Cobra either.

He rested a hand on Cobra's shoulder and spoke with solemn conviction.

"You're a worthy king. I know what's been happening in Alabasta. None of this is your fault. I will put an end to it."

"Admiral Purple Kirin…"

Cobra stood stunned. After ruling his country for decades, this acknowledgment from a Marine Admiral filled him with rare warmth. He felt seen—not as a ruler, but as a man.

Before he could respond, Chiga moved past them, returning to the balcony.

Cobra and Vivi exchanged glances and followed.

Chiga looked up at the sky. In his mind, he had already formulated a plan.

He brought his hands together and formed a seal.

"Rain Tiger at Will."

The moment he spoke, the sky began to shift.

Dark clouds gathered over the kingdom, spreading quickly across the horizon. A rich, moist pressure filled the air.

Cobra and Vivi stared upward, awestruck.

Was this real? Could Admiral Purple Kirin truly summon rain?

Throughout Alabasta, people rushed into the streets. Their faces lit up with hope as they stared at the rolling clouds. Some dropped to their knees and prayed, pleading for rain to fall and bless their dry, cracked lands.

Elsewhere in the desert, Crocodile also looked up at the sky, frowning.

Beside him stood a striking woman with tanned skin, wearing a cowboy hat and an air of cool confidence—Nico Robin, age twenty-four.

She narrowed her eyes.

"This weather… It shouldn't be possible, not with Dance Powder in effect."

Back in the palace, Chiga's eyes began to glow with arcs of violet lightning.

The clouds twisted above them, turning into thunderheads laced with flashing bolts. The sky rumbled ominously.

The pressure was overwhelming.

Vivi instinctively moved closer to Chiga, her voice barely audible.

"Admiral Purple Kirin… what's going on? The sky… it's scary…"

Chiga looked down at her and smiled.

"Don't be afraid. I'm just giving some people a warning."

His eyes sparked, and the energy in the sky surged in response.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Purple lightning slammed down across the kingdom in a terrifying display of might. Screams rang out—but only for a moment. The chaos quickly settled into silence.

Cobra and Vivi were frozen in place, struggling to comprehend what had just happened.

Chiga casually turned back to them, speaking as though he'd done nothing extraordinary.

"Just removed a few rioters. Things should be quiet now."

"..."

Neither of them could find words.

It was the first time they had witnessed the overwhelming power of a Marine Admiral firsthand. They could only watch, stunned.

Vivi stared at him with awe.

So this is the power of an Admiral… A single command can change everything.

But Chiga wasn't finished.

He spread his Observation Haki wide—blanketing the entire Alabasta Kingdom in a sweeping pulse of awareness.

Then, he projected his voice using advanced Haki. Every person in the kingdom heard it clearly—Crocodile included.

"The situation in Alabasta has nothing to do with King Cobra. As of now, I, Marine Admiral Purple Kirin, am in control of this land."

In the desert, Crocodile's face twisted in disbelief.

"That voice!? No… it can't be… He's here!?"

He recognized Chiga immediately. That tone, that presence—it wasn't arrogance. It was confidence born from absolute strength.

Robin also heard the voice, her expression complicated as she stared toward the palace.

"Purple Kirin… I wonder how he compares to Aokiji?"

And somewhere on the edge of the desert, a tall, thin man came to a halt on his bicycle. He looked up at the thunder-filled sky and muttered,

"Ara ara… so he's come too? That's going to make things… troublesome."
