It took every ounce of my self-control not to laugh at the sight before me.
Seraphina Moon—my mate, my Luna, my everything—was currently tangled in the branches of a large indoor ficus, her wheelchair wedged at an impossible angle between the plant and the wall. This marked the seventh household casualty in three days.
"Don't you dare say it," she warned, blowing a strand of rose-gold hair from her face. Her amber eyes narrowed dangerously as she tried to extricate herself from the leafy prison.
I crossed my arms and leaned against the doorframe. "I wasn't going to say anything."
"You have that look." She struggled, causing more leaves to fall around her like confetti.
"What look?" I asked innocently.
"That smug 'I told you so' Alpha look." She mimicked my expression, scrunching her face in an exaggerated scowl that looked nothing like me.
I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from smiling. "Need some help, little goddess?"
