The second Seraphina's scream tore through the helicopter, my wolf surged to the surface, desperate to help our mate. I clutched her tighter against my chest, feeling utterly powerless as her body convulsed.
"Faster!" I barked at the pilots. "Her shift is beginning!"
Seraphina's eyes flew open, golden amber now blazing like twin suns. Her pupils contracted to pinpoints as another spasm wracked her small frame. The pilots exchanged alarmed glances in the cockpit—they'd seen first shifts before, but never in such confined quarters, never in the air.
