Every muscle in my body tensed as another contraction ripped through me. Kaelen's arms were around me, carrying me swiftly through the palace corridors while barking orders at the guards running alongside us.
"Secure every entrance! Full lockdown protocol! No one gets in without my direct approval!" His voice echoed off the marble walls, the Alpha command making even me shiver despite my pain.
"The insurgents?" I managed to gasp between labored breaths.
"Neutralized," Kaelen answered grimly. "But there could be more. We can't take chances."
I buried my face against his chest as another wave of agony washed over me. My entire body felt like it was being torn apart from the inside. "Hospital," I whispered desperately. "We need—"
