I smoothed down the deep emerald velvet of my gown, trying to calm the butterflies swarming in my stomach. Tonight was my official debut as Kaelen's Luna - my first public appearance at the pack's Solstice festival.
"Stop fidgeting," Kaelen murmured, his warm breath tickling my ear as he came up behind me. "You look stunning."
His reflection appeared in the mirror behind mine, towering over me in a tailored black suit that made his green eyes even more piercing. My heart skipped. No man had the right to look that good.
"I'm nervous," I admitted, touching the diamond necklace he'd given me earlier. The stones caught the light, sending prisms dancing across the bedroom walls. "What if I mess up? What if they can tell I don't belong?"
Kaelen's hands settled on my shoulders, strong and steady. "You belong exactly where you are. With me."
