"This lighthouse is so strange! I've never seen the Pokémon on this door before." Arriving at the lighthouse, Misty asked, puzzled, looking at the door before her.
This didn't look like an ordinary lighthouse. The door was divided into squares, each looking like an individual stone slab, and each carved with patterns of Pokémon. Misty looked at the patterns and asked in confusion.
"These are ancient Pokémon, Pokémon that lived a very long time ago. They are now extinct, with only a very small number surviving, and some revived through fossils." Ash unconsciously spoke, looking at the patterns on the door.
Ancient Pokémon were actually Pokémon that lived on this planet a long time ago. Like dinosaurs on Earth, they are now extinct. Of course, not all are extinct; a very small number survived and are extremely rare. Most of the rest have become fossils.
However, this world's technology for researching Pokémon is quite advanced, so they have the technology to revive fossils, bringing them back to this world. But their era has indeed ended.
"So that's how it is!" Misty nodded slightly, indicating understanding. It was normal for her not to know about ancient Pokémon since she had never seen them.
"To actually know about ancient Pokémon, you must not be an ordinary trainer! Who are you?" Just then, a voice suddenly rang out.
"Huh??" Misty was startled, then she saw that the doorbell by the door was making a sound. Clearly, someone inside the lighthouse was speaking. But what was strange was that the person inside could hear them talking.
"We are travelers passing by. It's already dark, so we'd like to stay here for the night, if that's alright?" Brock said, moving closer to the doorbell.
"You can, but you'll have to help me with something first."
"Please tell us!" Since they agreed to let them stay overnight, they naturally had to agree to any requests.
"Then come in!" A voice quickly came from inside the doorbell, and then they heard the sound of the door opening.
Boom, boom, boom!!! The lighthouse door was quite large, so it made a heavy sound when it opened. Soon the door opened, and light shone out from inside.
"Excuse us for intruding!" The three walked in. After entering the lighthouse, the door automatically and slowly closed. If it weren't for the bright lights inside, it would truly give one an eerie feeling.
They entered the first floor of the lighthouse. It was very spacious. Looking at the walls on both sides, they saw that the walls also had the same design as the main door. Stone slabs were carved with many patterns of ancient Pokémon.
"Um, where are you, please?" After entering, Brock asked.
"I'm right in front of you!" Following Brock's voice, the previous voice sounded again. The three looked up and saw a figure appear before them at the end of the lighthouse's front, on the stairs.
A strange creature appeared before their eyes. Its eyes were round and as large as fists, glowing with a terrifying red light.
"Ah!! Pokémon... The Pokémon is talking." Misty said with a hint of fear, looking at the monstrous figure before her.
"It's not that strange, is it? Didn't we also encounter a talking Meowth before?" Hearing this, Brock also said to Misty's ear.
"Look closely. It's not a Pokémon. Kabuto isn't that big. It's a person!" Ash said to the two, listening to their conversation. Although Pokémon's sizes weren't strictly limited to normal, some were exceptionally large or small. The Krabby he just caught was an example. But Ash knew that wasn't Kabuto, it was a person.
Hearing Ash say it was a person, Misty breathed a sigh of relief. And at this moment, the "Kabuto" also spoke. "It seems you also study ancient Pokémon. You're indeed not an ordinary trainer."
Hearing Ash distinguish the truth from falsehood with a single statement, the other party also praised him without reservation. "But Pokémon are not judged solely by size." The other party said meaningfully, as if he had encountered unusually sized Pokémon before.
Ash naturally knew that the owner of this lighthouse was Professor Elm. His research project was to study extinct and undiscovered Pokémon. And the reason he lived in the lighthouse was to wait for a mysterious Pokémon. That Pokémon had an unusual size, which is why he reminded himself of that.
"I know this very well! What do you want us to help you with?" Ash didn't object. He knew the other party was a person. He only mentioned its size to make it easier to believe.
"Oh! It's like this. Could you please help me press this button over here? Kabuto's arms are too short, I can't reach the button!" Hearing Ash's words, the other party spoke awkwardly, pointing to his waist. His short arms couldn't reach. Ash walked up to him. Misty couldn't help but exclaim:
"So that was a doll suit!" Ash didn't say much. He walked up and helped him press the button. After the button was pressed, the doll suit automatically opened and then fell to the ground in pieces.
Ash was a bit speechless. I thought to myself, if you can't open it yourself, then how did you put it on? I really want him to demonstrate it again.
Soon, a young man with green seaweed-like hair and wearing a red suit appeared before them. "Phew... Finally out. Hello, my name is Masaki. Do you want to stay overnight here?" The man greeted the three, then asked them.
"Yes, if it's convenient!" Misty quickly said. Although this uncle was a bit strange, it was better than sleeping outdoors.
"You can, but I don't have much good stuff to entertain you with!" Masaki was quite enthusiastic, but he lived alone here, and his life was relatively simple. He had rooms, but nothing much to offer.
Author: Fish and Message in a Bottle
"It's fine. If I can use the kitchen, I can take care of the cooking as a thank you for letting us stay." Brock also spoke up immediately. He couldn't just stay here for free, so Brock volunteered.
"In that case, you can stay! If possible, I'd like to eat stir-fried noodles and pancakes!" Masaki was also not formal and immediately started ordering dishes.
"No problem!" Brock readily agreed.
PS: To be honest, I feel that playing Ash as the protagonist is even harder than writing an original character. If I don't follow the original plot, I worry it won't feel right. If I follow the original plot, I worry about it being too watered down.
So, in almost every segment of the original plot, I'll make some modifications, and I don't know how it will turn out. In the future, some parts that should be skipped will be skipped, such as Sabrina's storyline.
I'll definitely defeat Sabrina directly, and there won't be any more Ghost Tower storyline. After all, those three, although generally considered very powerful, are too playful. Also, Ash later caught a Gengar, so I might not write about it again.
