Principal's Office.

"Team Rocket? I didn't expect them to have infiltrated to this extent. Is the school alright?"

At this moment, inside the principal's office, the academy principal was facing a computer. On the computer screen, a sharp-eyed man with eye-catching wild red hair was displayed.

"Nothing major. The students united and dealt with them." The principal replied with relief.

"Is that so? Team Rocket's power is growing, but conversely, we have too few available personnel." The man on the other side of the screen sounded a little helpless.

"I know. Running back and forth between Kanto and Johto is indeed tough. The situation in Johto is actually quite serious, isn't it? You don't have to push yourself so hard."

"It's alright. Johto is still manageable. I just can't let go of Kanto." The red-haired man shook his head slightly.

This red-haired man was no ordinary person. He was the Elite Four Champion Ash had just mentioned. His name was Lance, full name Lance of the Dragons.

He came from Blackthorn City in Johto, known as the "Dragon Village." He was also the undisputed strongest Trainer in Johto, the Elite Four Champion, known as "Dragon Master Lance."

But although his hometown was in Johto, he grew up in Kanto. Many people didn't know that Lance was once a student at this very school.

However, Lance at that time was just like Tracey, a typical slacker, and was also mocked by his classmates. But Lance was different from Tracey; his personality was much tougher than Tracey's.

After enduring countless cold looks, he left the school. Not long after, he made a name for himself outside. Upon returning to his hometown, he even challenged the Alliance Trainers, eventually defeating the Elite Four and ascending to the Champion's throne.

But he held a special affection for the Kanto region. This was where he first grew up, and he also gained a mysterious power called "Will of the Forest" in this region.

This was a gift from Kanto to him. So now, he served not only Johto but also Kanto.

The reason was that in recent years, Kanto had not produced any outstanding Trainers. Not to mention a Champion, the Elite Four positions had also remained vacant. Currently, the only two in Elite Four positions were females.

Because Team Rocket had gradually infiltrated the two regions in recent years, the vacant Elite Four positions in Kanto became a problem. Only Lorelei, the Ice-type Elite Four, and Agatha, the Ghost-type Elite Four, remained.

Agatha was old. Although still vigorous, she couldn't personally handle many things. Lorelei alone couldn't cope.

Although the two regions were very close and shared facilities, they belonged to different regions after all. As Team Rocket's power grew, the situation in Kanto, lacking a strong Trainer like an Elite Four to preside over it, became rather grim.

So, the Alliance temporarily assigned Bruno, the Fighting-type Elite Four from Johto, and Champion Lance to temporarily fill the Elite Four positions. They barely managed to make up the numbers for the Elite Four, and Kanto didn't even have a Champion. Lance temporarily oversaw Kanto's Champion affairs.

By evenly distributing the Elite Four between the two regions, they were temporarily able to stabilize the situation in both regions.

"You're still the same. Just like how you only received cold looks in this school, but you still haven't forgotten that this is your alma mater."

The principal smiled faintly upon hearing this, seemingly reminiscing about the young man who, after leaving school, was mocked as a deserter but still looked ahead with unwavering resolve.

"Receiving cold looks was enough. If it weren't for those cold looks, I wouldn't be who I am today." Lance replied calmly. Back then, his grades were poor, and he endured countless cold looks, but he didn't become exasperated.

And now, he even had to thank those who once looked down on him. Those people used to look down on him, but now his perspective had completely changed.

He originally thought that when he left, he must make a name for himself and thoroughly humiliate them. But by the time he truly reached this position, he no longer had any interest in humiliating them. To put it simply, they were no longer worthy.

"Heh heh, he's really similar! Today, a special young man came to the school. He's very much like you when you were young." Hearing this, the principal couldn't help but say with a smile.

"Oh? Is he a new student?" Lance asked with some interest.

"No, he's a traveling Trainer. His name is Ash. I heard he's from Pallet Town. Today, our school's students were thoroughly taught a lesson by him."

"Pallet Town, huh?" Lance pondered, rubbing his chin.

"This young man is very special. Like you, no matter what type of Pokémon he uses, the Pokémon he sends out are always the strongest. And his battle style is very unique."

"I think, in the near future, he might even reach your level of accomplishment!"

The principal's words, to be honest, would be seen by many as an exaggeration. One must know that Lance's strength was not something ordinary Trainers could compare to.

Although he was the Champion of Johto, he also had no rivals in Kanto. He was the recognized strongest Trainer in both regions.

Comparing a new Trainer to him—anyone would think he was crazy. However, he knew very well what he was saying.

In fact, back when Lance was at this school, despite his poor grades, he still believed that Lance would be a remarkable Trainer and often encouraged him.

This was also why Lance still had feelings for his alma mater today. It proved that he hadn't misjudged Lance, and now he wouldn't misjudge Ash either.

"Is that so! Then I'm a little excited for his growth. In that case, it'll be a good thing for Kanto!"

Listening to the principal's words, Lance remembered the name and became interested in the young man named Ash.

PS: The various settings for the Elite Four and Champion in Pokémon are all different. In the special manga, many Elite Four members and even Champions are villains, while in the anime, to suit children, they are basically positive characters. Regarding the Elite Four and Champion situations in Kanto and Johto.

Everyone knows that Pokémon games came out before the anime. The first generation games had incomplete settings, with only the Elite Four. The Champion was the character we controlled, which was Red, who competed with Blue (Green) for the title. But later, after the second generation Gold and Silver versions, Bruno was still in the Elite Four.

And Lance became the Johto Champion, so the author still follows his own setting: Lance is the Johto Champion, and Kanto's Elite Four still only has Agatha and Lorelei. Bruno and Lance are temporarily filling in as Kanto's Elite Four.

In the setting, Alliance facilities are shared, and the Elite Four and Champion are also shared. However, the author still follows his own setting. Please don't use the settings in the book to infer the anime or manga; it won't be exactly the same as the anime and manga.
