Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: Barzel

Tao Xiang waved her hand generously. "No need to be polite. Remember, what I taught you was just the skill of exerting force. The extent to which you can master Void Flash depends on you. Everyone has a different understanding of Void Flash. The same combat technique can unleash different power in the hands of different people."

Lu Yin nodded to show he understood.

Tao Xiang licked her lips. "Well... I'm going to enjoy my Ice Dragon Shrimp Chips now. See you later." With that, her figure vanished.

Lu Yin couldn't see how she left at all. This was Tao Xiang's Void Flash; he wondered where it ranked among the Imperial Court's Thirteen Squads.

After practicing Void Flash twice, Lu Yin looked at Bai Xue. "How are things going in the Sixth Squad?"

Bai Xue said, "Not bad. The captain is very good to me."

"What about them?" Lu Yin asked.

Bai Xue thought for a moment. "Zhang Dingtian is having a tough time in the Fifth Squad, having to climb up from the bottom. Shi Wuzhang and the captain of the Tenth Squad have been staring at each other for days without moving. I don't know about Xu San."

Lu Yin looked at Bai Xue's slightly haggard face. "Your talent is very good. Try to choose combat techniques that suit you."

Bai Xue nodded without saying anything more.

Anyone needed time to adapt to a new environment, and Bai Xue was no exception. In Lu Yin's view, they were gold buried underground, destined to shine one day. How brightly they could shine would depend on themselves.

Before long, Tao Xiang left with Bai Xue. Before leaving, she had a look of enjoyment on her face and gave Lu Yin an expectant glance, the meaning of which was all too clear.

Lu Yin pursed his lips. The probability of rolling a one was one-sixth, and within that, the probability of stealing a snack was one in countless millions, far too low. He didn't dare make any promises to Tao Xiang. Speaking of which, it was time to roll the die.

Opening his palm, he crushed a Star Energy crystal, and the die once again glowed with a faint starlight. Lu Yin took a deep breath. Every time he rolled the die, he was very nervous. He still didn't know what three pips did. Six pips required a terrifying amount of Star Energy. The outcome he wanted the least was six pips, but it was also the one he anticipated the most.

Last time, he had spent dozens of cubic meters of Star Crystals just to barely open a crack in space. Today, he had over 200 cubic meters. It should be enough!

Thinking of this, Lu Yin tapped his finger, and the die spun rapidly, finally stopping on one pip.

With a clink, a black star card fell out.

Lu Yin was overjoyed. A star card, is it a combat technique? He hurriedly picked it up, only to be disappointed to find that it was a Mebis Bank star card.

Bank star cards usually had genetic verification. Of course, there were also some that didn't require verification and could be used for direct withdrawal, but not many. This card had clearly been verified; in the upper right corner were carved two characters—'Yao Gu'.

Yao Gu? Is that a name or something? Lu Yin was puzzled but didn't pay it much mind. A black star card, and from Mebis Bank at that, was certainly not simple. At the very least, he had never heard of Mebis Bank having black star cards; the highest should be gold.

Regardless of whether this card was real or fake, it was useless to Lu Yin; he couldn't withdraw anything from it. He casually put it away, crushed another Star Energy crystal, and reached out to tap the die again. Watching it spin slowly, it finally stopped on four pips. The next moment, Lu Yin entered the gray-white, time-stopped space.

"Not bad. In that case, I'll practice Void Flash," Lu Yin muttered to himself, slowly sinking down. The Star Energy in his calves began to surge like waves, and in the next moment, his body shot out at high speed. He wanted to use Void Flash to make up for his lack of speed.

Two days later, Lu Yin panted, clutching his calf muscles. His current speed had already surpassed the Roaming Step, but there was still a huge gap compared to Lulu. Just practicing like this wasn't very effective. If only he had a gravity space.

Lu Yin pondered. This space could even extend time, so could it perhaps also create gravity? With this thought, he took out a cubic meter of Star Crystals, crushed it, and thought of gravity. The next moment, the cube of Star Energy disappeared, and his body became slightly heavier. This was double gravity.

Lu Yin was excited. It really worked! This space was virtual; anything could be created by oneself, as long as one paid the price in Star Energy. This was great! One cubic meter of Star Crystals for double gravity meant 40 times gravity would cost 40 cubic meters of Star Energy. That was a lot! If not for his extortion spree, he didn't know when he would have been able to gather so much Star Energy.

Gritting his teeth, Lu Yin crushed 40 cubic meters of Star Crystals. Instantly, a heavy pressure descended. This was a 40-times gravity space; the familiar feeling was back.

Having used 40 cubic meters to create this space, he couldn't just use it for one day. Lu Yin once again steeled himself and crushed another ninety cubic meters of Star Crystals. Instantly, the time extended by five days, plus the one day remaining, made it six days. Six days to practice Void Flash; he wondered what level he could reach.

Who could be as extravagant as him, spending over 100 cubic meters of Star Crystals just to practice a combat technique? Lu Yin secretly felt the pinch, but his movements didn't slow. He ran wildly in the 40-times gravity space, simultaneously recalling the White Night clan's speed technique, trying to integrate it.

With a thud, he fell flat, his calves swelling up. He had been too hasty, trying to integrate other skills before he had fully comprehended Void Flash. Fortunately, the injury wasn't too serious.

He took out some ointment and rubbed it on, then continued training not long after.

For others, only a second had passed. But for Lu Yin, he had trained non-stop for eight days, and under 40 times gravity at that.

The moment he stepped out of the gray-white space, Lu Yin fell asleep directly. He was too exhausted.

Two days later, the members of the Outerverse Youth Council arrived. Many of the Great Yu Empire's court officials watched the silver spaceship descend in the distance, their expressions solemn.

The Outerverse Youth Council was a subordinate organization of the Ten Arbiters Council. If the Ten Arbiters Council gathered the most high-end young geniuses and experts of the entire universe, then the Outerverse Youth Council gathered the most elite young geniuses of the Outerverse. Anyone who could join was either a prodigy with a special talent or an unparalleled expert, undefeated among their peers.

Even the strongest of the Great Yu Empire's younger generation, Shuz, didn't even have the qualifications to touch the threshold of the Outerverse Youth Council. This showed what kind of figures were gathered within. Only a universally renowned expert like Wendy Yushan could join.

Countless people in the empire were curious about who would come from the Outerverse Youth Council.

Soon, the spaceship landed. Outside the space station, Crown Prince Dolan Yushan had been waiting for a long time.

As the Crown Prince of a nation, his personal reception was already a great show of respect and was enough to demonstrate the importance the Great Yu Empire placed on the Outerverse Youth Council.

More than a dozen people emerged from the spaceship. The leader was a three-meter-tall burly man with a mature appearance. It was Barzel.

Beside Barzel was the pale-faced young man, Gui Huo. On the other side were several Limiteer Realm experts, all very young.

Dolan Yushan's expression was grave as he watched the approaching Barzel, feeling shocked in his heart. Anyone who could join the Youth Council was a cultivator under 40 years old. In the universe, the average human lifespan was 150 years. 40 was a dividing line; those below 40 could be considered young, while those above 40 were not in this group. There were also some special races not included in this rule.

The man before him looked mature, but being able to join the Council proved he was under 40, yet he already possessed the strength of the Star-Wandering Realm. This was the Outerverse Youth Council; this was an Outerverse-level genius.

Back when he reached the Explorer Realm, he was already well over 40.

"My name is Barzel, a junior councilor of the Outerverse Youth Council," the burly man Barzel said in a deep voice as he walked up to Dolan Yushan.

Dolan Yushan smiled. "Welcome to the Great Yu Empire, Councilor Barzel. His Majesty is waiting for you in the court."

Barzel nodded. "Please."

Dolan Yushan made a gesture of invitation. "Please."

Before long, Barzel and his group arrived at the grand hall.

Today was a special occasion. All the court officials were present, even Lu Yin had been summoned, along with some other idle members of the royal family. Undying Yushan held the people from the Outerverse Youth Council in high regard, but the only ones absent were the captains of the Imperial Court's Thirteen Squads.

Barzel led Gui Huo and two Limiteer Realm men into the grand hall. They did not bow to Undying Yushan, only offering a polite greeting.

No one minded. After all, the other party was not from the Great Yu Empire, not even from the Canglan territory, and their status was extremely high. The courtesy they showed was out of respect for Wendy Yushan.

Barzel was ordered to supervise the Great Yu Empire's trials and education of the youth on behalf of Wendy Yushan, so he naturally wanted to see the most famous elites of the Martial Hall.

Before long, everyone moved to the martial arena. There, several hundred people from the Martial Hall were already waiting, with only the Five Great Hall Masters absent.

Undying Yushan looked weary. He had Crown Prince Dolan Yushan entertain Barzel and his group, while he left to rest.

Without Undying Yushan presiding, many people relaxed considerably.

"Crown Prince, since I was young, I've heard the legend of the Canglan territory's Undying Duo. It's rumored that His Majesty Undying Yushan once broke into the top 20 of the Astral Combat Rankings in the Innerverse, which is truly admirable," Barzel said.
