Chapter 1 - Prologue

There once was a tale of the sands, that taught a good lesson between greed and love. Before the sand swallowed these lands, it use to be known as Deserterria translated from its people as the bare greenland. The Greenland united the people. Until, the pharaoh of that time saw a beauty he never seen walk the greenlands before. He had to have her. He courted her the way royalty would. She was more interested in his curious clumsy nature than his wealth. Soon they were in love and times were known to be perfect according to the villagers. Aristocrats that sided with the pharaoh began to question if the pharaoh intended to expand their lands for power or stay grounded to the small piece of Greenland that was there for time before them. Before the pharaoh knew there was an attack on royal family, means to replace the pharaoh. The divine offspring of the pharaoh and his queen was took underground to be protected. The pharaoh for the first time in a while needed to fight.

"My king the living quarters!" Yelled one of his men.

The pharaoh turned to see the silhouette of his wife drop next to another soon revealing a sharp object remaining.

"No!!" The pharaoh roared as he fled the lowered ground to reach his wife.

He bursted through the door to find his wife's gown stained with blood that was as dark as the finest wine. He dropped to his knees, gathering the remains of his love into his arms. His gold eyes over filling with tears.

"My love..." The queen whispered.

She cupped his warm face. Her blue eyes twinkling in her final time.

"Stay, don't-" Before he could finish she dropped one final time in his arms.

There was said through gossip, something at that moment went stale inside the pharaoh, as at the same time something awakened. The pharaoh gritted his teeth out of anger.

Within the silence, there was calm steps approaching. The men stood their ground protecting their king.

"My king, what a sad sight this must be, to have the kingdom fall to this." The pharaoh whose eyes have grown lost, turned to the familiar voice.

"What?" Was all he managed to speak.

"Maybe if you focused on the expanding the greenlands, this may have been avoided." One of the aristocrats spoke with a smile.

The pharaoh dropped his head, in silence, losing the very last bit of hope he felt he had.

"The greenlands? Was this your doing?" The pharaoh stood to his feet, placing his wife beside him.

"It is my duty to make sure you are focused."

The pharaoh's eyes twitched to the cold response and disrespectful tone the aristocrat had, even in the presence of his passed wife. The pharaoh turned his head down to his wife body. He knew that the hope of these Greenlands were lost along with his heart.

"You wanted more greenlands? Well, you can burn with them!" The pharaoh screamed.

In that moment, fire emitted from the pharaoh's body as rage spilled from his body. The pharaoh yelled, sending waves of fire to all directions, no care of who it had reached with only one thought in mind. Destruction of Deserterria. It was said that the amount of rage and fire that spread across the land was enough to leave the burnt remains for a lifetime. The Pharaohs anger from both betrayal and dying love became a never ending fuel, that led waste to all that breathed life.

Along the catacombs where the Pharaoh son was being protected, it was getting difficult to breathe. Between the closed walls along with the heat seeping below, one of the elders dropped. The pharaohs son was beginning to worry that bad may have happened to both his mother and father.

"Where's my father?" He yelled as tears fell.

"Young one he is protecting the lands." The Pharaoh son didn't dare to cry further for his father, that needed to follow his duty.

The ground above started to crumble, it wouldn't have been long before even the catacombs were not a safe spot to be. Before any plan was thought of, bigger pieces of the ground above started to crumble, taking down even the strongest of men. The pharaoh's son found himself alone, with no one to protect him.

"Mother!" He screamed out of fear.

All of a sudden, all through out the land the rage of fire came to quiet. The pharaohs son looked above where he now can seen the moon that shined bright even below into the catacombs. There was a refreshing breeze that was brought over the scorched grounds, the last of the survived people. The pharaoh found himself stripped of the fire he blasted.

"My love….enough….it is time to rest." The pharaoh heard a voice all too familiar.

He turned to see the ghost like figure of his wife. Her blue eyes still twinkled the same way as they did in his arms. Before he was able to take a step toward her, water rushed his body and the lands, wiping away any remaining fire, the pharaoh had left. The water painted the walls and ground with a needed peace.

"Father!" The pharaoh heard the voice of his son in distress.

The pharaoh ran to a hole in the ground, there he saw his son, with water surrounding him. His son never learned to swim yet, without hesitation, the pharaoh dived into the water, reaching for his son. Once he was able to grab his son he himself didn't feel to have any energy left inside of him to bring himself to push through the water. He pushed his son away with the remaining source of fire he had within him towards the surface, with the hope he would be strong enough to make it. As his son looked at him one final time, he couldn't help but see himself.

'Rest she said…. ' He thought as he gave a peaceful smile. 'As you wish my love' he thought last before letting the water have him, extinguishing the catalyst for this destruction.
