Cinderella led me to the stall.
"Sir, we wish to go next." She smiled.
The others looked curious at our expensive looking clothes. The man nodded and presented the seats.
She sat down and seeing the small seat my mouth twitched. This chair was to small.
I pushed it aside and sat down on the floor. I thought about just taking out a chair from my storage ring but it would draw attention.
The others looked quite surprised. Probably because a person who looked like he could be a Noble decided to sit on the floor instead of yelling at someone to grab a bigger chair.
The orginizer handed me and Cinderella a paper and pencil.
"Alright let's get this started. The first question is for the wife," he said taking out a piece of paper. "What is your husbands favorite color. Normally the wives can easily answer but the husband cannot let's see what you have."
I just wrote down pie since pie was good and whatever of color it is. Is my favorite color.
"Ok reveal your answers," he said.
We flipped our papers for the people to see.
"Let's see your put. The color of pie?" He said confused.
He then turned to my paper paused.
"You only wrote one word—but it count since it pie," he said.
the people cheered. Though the answers were kind of weird for the question she still got it right.
I didn't think she was gonna get it right but I guess she was more attentive then I thought.
The man took out another piece of paper.
"Ok this time the question is for the husband. What is your wife biggest fear?" He asked.
I paused at his words. Honestly only one thing came to mind. Loneliness—she had been abused by her stepmother but instead of running away since she was capable to take care of herself she decided to stay.
And not only that she's kind to everyone and prioritizes others before herself. I wrote down the word. Maybe if I spent more time with her I will know but as of now this is the best answer I got.
"Ok reveal your answers," the man said.
We turned our papers and the man read the answers.
"The husband's answer is loneliness," he said and turned to Cinderella paper. "And he's right, her answer is, I'm afraid to be alone."
"That two, if you get three in a row with out getting a wrong answer you get a prize." He said.
The crowd shouted in excitement. He took out another paper.
"This one again is to the wife. How many children do you want to have. Each of you write your answer and what you think think the other would want,"
I stared at my paper. Honestly previously I had planned to have as much children with her as possible but my view has changed a little.
Father probably already got another brother of my brothers to do it for him. With Cinderella within my sights I smiled and wrote down five words.
"Ok, reveal your answers." He said.
I flipped my paper.
"Let's see the wife's answer first." Her answer is, what ever my husband wants," he said.
My eyes widened a little. Honestly I didn't know how many kids she wanted since she just said she wanted a big family.
He then turned to my paper. And his mouth twitched.
"The husbands answer is, what ever my wife wants." She looked toward me surprised.
"Well, this is quite a predicament." He turned to the crowd,"Do you guys think this counts?" He asked the crowd.
"Yes!?" They cheered in unison,
"Alright then, the couple wins the prize," he said moving to his stall and taking out two boxes.
I paused seeing the magic residue. A magical artifact? I grabbed the ones with the magic residue and opened the box.
It rested two rings. I took it out and inspected it. The moment I touched I felt the ring absorb my mana though negligible. After a while it stopped absorbing the mana but the mana just rested inside the ring.
I put inside the box and stood.
"Let's go," I said to Cinderella.
She was confused but still obeyed and stood and followed beside me. But she would occasionally stare at the box where there was two rings.
"The rings are special. Let me figure out if it's dangerous first." I said.
She didn't understand why it was dangerous but she nodded. As we walked the streets there was occasional stares every now and then.
Once we reached a secluded area I sensed for rune. He was perfect for this. But sensing that he wasn't around. But I could slightly feel him far away in the direction of the castle. Did he return already?
I teleported back to novus with Cinderella in hand. But of course u teleported to the library since he's practically made that his room,
The moment I appeared he was in my sights. He was putting books into a bookshelf. Probably a book he found.
"Rune," I called.
He didn't even turned to me and scowled.
"What is it, I'm busy," he said.
My mouth twitched. Damn, why is this guy always in a bad mood.
"Sigh, I found an artifact and I want you to check this for me?"
I opened the box and he took a small peek and looked at me like an idiot.
My mouth couldn't help but twitch again. I really want to fight this bastard but fighting was forbidden unless supervised by my father.
"You fool, it's a man's storing artifact. Even an idiot would know after putting their mana into it." He said.
A vein throbbed in my head. Damn, is it fine if I smack him just once?
I then felt a tug at my arm. I sighed, well thank you. I didn't even wait for his answer and teleported back to silk island.
It had been enough time and the dress should be ready. Once we arrived Sara greeted us.
"Prince Fergus, princess Cinderella," she greeted.
I nodded.
"She me the dress," I ordered.
She did as told and led us to the finished product. Seeing the dress I was quite satisfied. It looked glittery but not to the point of being over the top.
The dress was blue in color, she even had the time to make the shoes and tiara.
"I've got to say, you've outdone yourself this time." I said.
"Thank you," she smiled.
I turned to Cinderella and signaled her to put the dress one she smiled and walked towards the dress and grabbed it before entering the dressing room.
A few minutes later she came back. I couldn't help but blush a little. She was truly beautiful especially with the dress that complimented her.
"Tell me Sara, what do you want as huge reward."
She shook her head.
"My prince, making the dress was a reward in itself." She smiled.
I knew that's what she would have said. But I know what she truly wanted.
"I have some special fruits that can mutate the silkworms. It will be your reward," I said.
Her eyes shone in excitement.
"Thank you, prince Fergus," she said with barely contained excitement.
I snapped my fingers and changed my clothes then walked towards Cinderella and extended my hand. She smiled and grabbed my hand.
"You look beautiful as always my lady," I kissed her hand.
She blushed. I smiled and hugged her before teleporting to Aldoria. Appearing in the hall I walked her toward where the ball was in. After a while we reached the two huge doors with gaurds.
They realised who I was and bowed.
"Prince Fergus," they said.
One gaurd left his post and led us in.
"Prince Fergus of Aldoria has arrived with-" he paused and looked at me.
"My wife," I calmly stated.
"With his wife," he finished and bowed again before returning to his post.
All eyes were on me and Cinderella. Honestly this ball was quite small but it can't be helped. This castle was the size of a castle outpost of Novus.
We walked around Cinderella still following. I turned to her.
"Don't you want to explore?" I asked.
"I-this is the first ball I've attended and I want am still not accustomed." She said.
I nodded.
"Alright then, what do you want to do il lead you," I said.
She smiled and nodded.
"How about a dance," she said with excitement.
I smiled and extended my hand to her. She layed her and on my and we walked to the center of the ball. All eyes were still on us. Today is her first ball, I have to make it special.
I used my mana and scattered them around to make sparkles and beautiful lights around us.
Though I've never danced myself I've been to hundreds of parties and memorized them. Il just have to learn physically while dancing.
"Put your feet on mine," I said.
She didn't understand why but she still agreed and put her feet on mine. I then started moving around.
Alright, time to copy the pros. I thought as the memories came back and I started moving.
At first it was sluggish but that barely lasted a second. I was quickly learning and within seconds I was already committing it to muscle memory.
The crowd watched in amazement as we moved around gracefully.
"You're really good at dancing," she said.
"Of course I learned from the best," I smiled.
she smiled in return and we kept moving. Many had started joining but none could match our rhythm. After the music finally stopped we walked back into the crowd.
I think that's enough spotlight for today. The prince still needs to find a wife.
We walked to a table of food and picked up what we liked. Unfortunately, there was no pie. But at least Cinderella was enjoying herself.
As I was eating, I felt a nudge on my shirt. I turned around and saw Cinderella holding a pie.
"I actually made a bunch of pies in case you got hungry, but I didn't think it would happen so soon." She smiled.
I gulped and kissed her on the forehead. Marrying her was the best decision of my life—but I should do a proper ceremony in the future.
I grabbed the pie and started eating.
"Oh, a meat pie," I muttered.
My eyes shone at the taste. Though she can cook other foods, nothing can beat pie. As we ate, I saw the prince coming toward us.
He bowed.
"Prince Fergus, how has your stay been?"
"It's not bad, though next time you should tell the cooks to add pie to the menu," I added.
His mouth twitched, but he still nodded.
"Certainly," he replied.
Silence fell as we had nothing else to say. Well, I might as well be a little more thoughtful.
"So, have you found a bride?" I asked.
He sighed.
"No, they're—not my type." He muttered at the end.
My eyes moved to the women, and I couldn't help but notice—they're all not my type either. They're not ugly, but I can see that they're quite—what's that word my mothers use? Oh yes, vixens. They look like the type to spread rumors.
Then my gaze stopped at three women whose eyes were on me and Cinderella. I never really learned their names, but they are Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters.
The two stepsisters don't seem to be evil, and the stepmother doesn't seem to be truly bad, but what they've done cannot be overlooked.
I turned back to the prince.
"So, what's your type?" I asked bluntly.
His eyes shone at my words.
"Though my standards are high, I still like a woman who is kind, caring, and understanding," he said.
Sounds like Blanche, Melody, and Liora. Thinking about them, I sweatdropped. Father didn't really like other men getting close to them—especially ones with lustful intentions. Melody and Liora were too innocent, and Liora has an important role in the empire, so I can't choose them.
Should I bring Blanche instead? I mean, she did want a prince. She stays in her room all day. Maybe this will be good for her. At most, nothing happens and she'll have to return home.
"Wait a moment, I'll be back," I said.
I teleported and headed back to Novus. Appearing in front of Blanche's door, I knocked.
"Knock knock knock."
"Who is it?" she called from the other side.
"Fergus."
"What do you want?" she asked.
"There's a ball with a prince—" The door slammed open.
Blanche came into view, her hair disheveled.
"A ball? Let's go before Father notices."
I put up a hand.
"You look—" She didn't let me finish as she snapped her fingers and her appearance changed. Her hair combed itself, and a new dress appeared with a tiara.
I just nodded and grabbed her hand, then teleported back to Aldoria.
Appearing back, the crowd turned to us with a new addition to the group.
"This is Blanche," I said to the prince.
Note:I've read your comment origin and il be setting him up with one of Erik's daughter. Thats right I'm gonna catch em all and be the very best. And about going back to Erik. After the little mermaid ark I plan to make Igneel emperor and then focus more on Erik's journey.
