Aria's POV.
I stood by the window in our room, my face pressed close to the cool glass. Tears rolled down my cheeks, hot and stinging, as I stared out at the dark night.
The moon hung low, its silver light spilling over the pack house garden, but it didn't make me feel better. My heart felt heavy, like a rock sitting in my chest.
Alpha Kael's words from earlier echoed in my mind, sharp and cold like a winter wind. "Go to sleep, Luna Celeste," he'd said, his voice hard, his eyes distant.
He'd walked out, leaving me alone, and I couldn't stop wondering: Was he mad at me? Did he hate me now? I was so stupid to have even gone to eavesdrop, but then again, I couldn't have just ignored the situation. Not when that cunning sister of mine was involved.
Although I couldn't hear their words, I was certain they were planning something deadly.
