"No. I have to get back to the hospital. I brought my car," she refused, already turning in the opposite direction. The action made him clench his fists before striding after her and grabbing her wrist.
"Get back in the car, Patricia," he ordered, his voice firm. She turned to face him, defiant.
"I do not want to," she replied, rejecting him again, her refusal sparking something sharp in him. His grip on her wrist tightened.
Without warning, he scooped her up, taking her completely off guard. She shrieked as he tossed her over his shoulder and strode back toward his car like a man possessed.
"Put me down! I am not entering your car!!" She screamed, kicking and flailing, but Roman's eyes stayed cold, dark, unbothered by her resistance, as though her outburst didn't faze him in the slightest.
