Chapter 307: A Discovery Beneath the Lake, Death by Self-Destruction!

Shiiiing!

Under the shocked gazes of the crowd, the moment those dark energy beams touched the crimson barrier around Lin Fan, they suddenly dissolved into nothing!

Even the Three-Headed Demon Flood Dragon hadn't expected its signature technique to be completely ineffective against Lin Fan. Its scarlet eyes widened in disbelief.

Lin Fan's hands slipped out from his sleeves, fingers curling slightly. In that instant, the space before him rapidly twisted—within a blink, it transformed into a colossal, thousand-zhang-long space greatblade radiating with silver light.

BOOM!

Gripping the blade, Lin Fan brought it down with furious force, slashing directly at one of the flood dragon's heads!

Splurt!

A sharp slicing sound rang out as the blade cleaved cleanly through the creature's neck. It didn't even have time to react before one of its heads was lopped off, blood spraying wildly like a downpour of crimson rain!

ROAR!

The remaining two heads shrieked in agony, their mouths gaping wide in a tortured howl.

Seeing that the silver blade hadn't dissipated after cutting off a head, the Three-Headed Demon Flood Dragon endured the pain and dove back into the lake with a loud splash.

At the same time, a violent surge of energy erupted from its body, conjuring over a dozen massive water pythons—each hundreds of meters long—to intercept the space blade.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

One explosion after another echoed out as the water pythons were all torn apart by the silver blade.

Taking advantage of the chaos, the flood dragon sank into the depths of the lake, its enormous figure vanishing beneath the blood-red water.

RUMBLE!

The space blade's final slash slammed into the lake's surface, triggering a massive wave that rose dozens of meters high before it finally dissipated.

Hiss!

Seeing this, everyone around the lake gasped once more. The awe and reverence they felt toward Lin Fan deepened yet again.

That was a genuine Minor Mastery Life Xuan Stage Three-Headed Demon Flood Dragon—strong enough to rival even peak human experts of the same level—and yet Lin Fan had casually forced it into retreat, battered and bleeding.

Before, these people wouldn't have dared challenge the flood dragon even if they joined forces.

But looking at Lin Fan's composed expression now, the difference between them felt like heaven and earth.

Just a while ago, they had still been hoping Lin Fan and the flood dragon would fight to mutual destruction so they could swoop in and claim the Life Xuanling Fruits.

Now, those thoughts were completely abandoned. No one dared covet the fruits any longer.

"You all wait here. I'll be right back," Lin Fan said to Lin Dong, Gu Yan, and the others before flashing forward and diving into the lake.

Lin Fan had deliberately not used his full power to instantly kill the flood dragon earlier—he needed a reason to go to the lake's bottom.

As he descended, he formed a barrier of spiritual energy around his body, keeping the blood-stained water at bay.

From above, the lake had seemed large enough, but as Lin Fan dove deeper, he realized the surface was only a fraction of its true scale.

As he looked into the abyss, it was like staring into the gaping maw of a demon—an unsettling, endless darkness.

He extended his spiritual senses, locking onto the flood dragon's aura and diving deeper, following it downward.

As he went further, flickers of red light began to appear in the blackness, growing steadily brighter.

Soon, Lin Fan saw what they truly were—a sea of magma spreading endlessly across the lakebed.

The molten lava flowed like a fiery carpet, bubbling and churning as it turned the surrounding water scalding hot.

Lin Fan's eyes narrowed. With a thought, he summoned the Burning Heaven Cauldron, gifted to him by the elder of the same name.

As soon as it appeared, the cauldron expanded to dozens of zhang in size. Lin Fan slipped inside and, with a thought, transformed it into a streak of light diving toward the magma below.

Splash!

The cauldron pierced through the lava effortlessly.

Beneath the magma was an empty, vast underground plaza—no lava, no lake water.

The floor was made of fire-red stone tiles laid in a neat pattern, exuding an ancient, primal aura.

At the center of the plaza stood a man clad in black robes, his face twisted and feral, a gaping wound the size of a bowl on his shoulder.

There was no mistaking it—this was the Three-Headed Demon Flood Dragon in human form.

As Lin Fan spotted him, the flood dragon also sensed Lin Fan's presence.

He had hoped to recover in hiding and one day return for revenge—but never expected Lin Fan to chase him down and discover the magma-hidden plaza.

"Bastard! You already took all the Life Xuanling Fruits and cut off one of my heads! Why won't you let it go?!" the dragon roared, his face contorted with rage and hatred.

"Since we're already enemies, I'm not about to leave loose ends," Lin Fan replied calmly. "I won't let hidden threats linger."

The flood dragon gritted his teeth. "If you let me live, I swear I'll never oppose you again. In fact—I'll even give you a secret!"

"You mean the Earthcore Spirit Pulp? Too bad—I've already noticed it," Lin Fan said with a glance at the stone pool in the center of the plaza, which spanned dozens of zhang.

The flood dragon's face twisted. "You… how did you know?"

"That's not your concern anymore. Got any last words?" Lin Fan asked with a faint smile.

"If you're so eager to kill me, then don't think I'll make it easy for you!" the flood dragon howled in fury.

Sensing Lin Fan's unwavering killing intent, he let out a final roar and charged at him.

At the same time, a surge of chaotic energy erupted from his body, which rapidly swelled in size.

Clearly, the flood dragon had realized he couldn't escape and had chosen to self-destruct—hoping to take Lin Fan down with him.

Even if he couldn't kill him, wounding Lin Fan might be enough. Then, if Lin Fan tried to seize the Earthcore Spirit Pulp in a weakened state and triggered the strange formation guarding it, he might end up dead anyway.

The flood dragon even began to smile grimly at the thought.

"Prison of Space!"

Lin Fan's eyes narrowed as the flood dragon approached. With a low shout, he formed a complex hand seal.

In the next instant, an invisible spatial cage manifested, trapping the flood dragon inside.

BOOM!

A massive explosion rocked the underground plaza. The dragon's body detonated violently within the spatial prison, blood splattering everywhere. The unleashed energy battered the cage—but it held firm.

"AAAHHH!"

The flood dragon let out a final, unwilling scream before his body and soul were obliterated—completely erased from existence.

Lin Fan gave the scene a casual glance before flashing over to the stone pool in the center, his eyes now focused on what lay within.
