Chapter 166: Sect Ruins and News of Old Friends!
As they moved further away from the Pill River and deeper into the Ancient Treasury, the number of people flying overhead steadily increased.
From time to time, someone's face would light up with excitement—rumors of a newly discovered sect ruin had begun to spread.
Everyone knew what ancient sect ruins represented—no one could say whether there might be sect legacies hidden inside.
So regardless of the truth of the rumors, most cultivators rushed toward them, hoping to strike it rich.
Lin Fan's group, however, didn't pay much attention. They simply pressed forward into the depths.
Suddenly, voices from a nearby group caught their attention.
"Did you hear? A complete sect ruin just appeared in the southwest! It's still protected by an energy barrier—there must be good stuff inside!"
"I heard that too. Several dynasties have already rushed there, and apparently, three lucky guys even got their hands on sect imprints—they can enter the ruins and obtain the legacy!"
"Hah, getting the imprints might not be such a good thing for them."
"Oh? Why not?"
"Because those three are from a low-tier dynasty… something like the Great Flame Dynasty."
"A low-tier dynasty? Tch, they're probably not qualified to receive a legacy anyway!"
When Lin Fan and Lin Dong heard the words "Great Flame Dynasty," they exchanged surprised glances.
"Brother Lin Fan, it should be Mo Ling and the other two," Lin Dong said after a brief moment of thought.
"They're from the same place as us. We've fought alongside them before. Let's go help them."
"Alright," Lin Fan nodded in agreement.
It was just a small detour, and with his current strength—Five Yuan Nirvana stage—he could walk through this treasury unhindered.
"Let's confirm first," Lin Fan said to Lin Dong. He raised his hand, releasing a wave of powerful yuan force that crushed the nearby group in place with sheer pressure.
"Where is that sect ruin located?" Lin Fan casually asked the ones who had been gossiping the loudest.
"S-So strong! At least Two Yuan Nirvana…"
Feeling the pressure Lin Fan emitted, the group paled and quickly spilled everything they knew about the ruins' location.
"Thanks," Lin Fan said calmly, releasing the pressure and turning to leave.
"Friend, may we ask which high-tier dynasty you're from?" one of the group called out, hoping to latch on to a strong backer.
"Great Flame Dynasty," Lin Fan replied with a faint smile before vanishing into the sky.
Lin Dong and Xiao Yan followed right behind, heading straight for the ruin where Mo Ling and the others were.
"They're from the Great Flame Dynasty?!"
"When did a low-tier dynasty produce such terrifying powerhouses?"
…
Staring at the retreating trio, the group was left stunned.
"Wait… That's Lin Fan—the one who destroyed the Mo Rock and Sky Eagle Dynasties!"
Hiss!
Upon hearing Lin Fan's name, everyone couldn't help but suck in a cold breath.
Suddenly, they all looked at Mo Ling and his friends with burning envy.
Who would've guessed that those three had someone as terrifying as Lin Fan backing them?
As Lin Fan's group made their way to the ruins, they noticed many others flying in the same direction.
Clearly, everyone had the same goal—the sect ruins.
"Looks like the ruins are real," Lin Dong said seriously. "So many strong people gathering... this could get messy."
"They're just a bunch of nobodies," Lin Fan replied with a faint smile, completely unfazed.
Before long, the trio arrived at an enormous floating island.
It was by far the largest floating island they had seen on their journey. Energy fluctuations pulsed faintly from the island's surface.
…
On the massive island, a crowd had already gathered. Countless figures hovered like locusts above the land.
All gazes were fixed on a single spot—the center of the floating island.
There, an ancient palace stood. Though a bit weathered, it was far more intact than any ruin they had encountered so far.
A faint red light shrouded the palace, forming a barrier around it.
Within the glow stood a towering stone stele, upon which ancient characters appeared:
"Qianyun Sect — Alliance Guardian Sect."
Just outside the barrier stood three figures, backs to each other. It was none other than Mo Ling, Man Shan, and Du Yun—whom Lin Fan had parted ways with after Thunder Rock Valley.
Each held a glowing, intricate talisman—sect imprints.
Everyone around them stared at those imprints with wolf-like eyes, unable to conceal their greed.
However, with more and more powerhouses gathering, no one dared to be the first to make a move.
"What do we do…?"
Under the pressure of countless stares, Du Yun's nerves were fraying. He turned to Mo Ling.
All three had reached the half-step Nirvana stage, but in this situation, it wasn't enough.
Mo Ling's handsome face was grim. His eyes showed a hint of despair.
"This has dragged on too long. The word's already spread. If Brother Lin Fan and Brother Lin Dong heard about it… they'll come."
Man Shan scratched his head with a trace of hope.
As the trio whispered among themselves, the opposing factions began to lose patience.
Four groups from high-tier dynasties stepped forward, completely surrounding them.
"You're not worthy of those imprints. Hand them over before you lose more than just your pride,"
growled a One Yuan Nirvana cultivator threateningly.
Mo Ling replied flatly, "There are only three imprints. How will four dynasties split them?"
His words immediately sparked tension between the four groups.
The four Nirvana cultivators glanced at each other warily.
After a long pause, a man in green robes sneered.
"Trying to sow discord? Clever, but pointless. How we divide the imprints is none of your concern. Hand them over—or die."
The three looked at each other, then reluctantly threw their sect imprints out.
There was no choice. The imprints were valuable, but their lives came first.
As the three imprints floated toward the four dynasties, a glint of madness flashed in their eyes.
But none dared to move first, fearing the others would strike simultaneously.
Then—
Whoosh!
A sharp gust of wind swept across the sky and struck the imprints directly.
Bang!
The three imprints shot back through the air and landed once more in Mo Ling and his companions' hands.
At the same time, three figures descended from the heavens, landing directly in front of Mo Ling's group.
In that instant, everyone on the island turned to look—
Who were these newcomers?
The four dynasties' experts were seething with rage, their eyes filled with murderous intent. They wished they could tear the trio apart on the spot.
