After freshening up, I was drying my hair and walking toward my bedroom. As I switched on the light, my eyes landed on the gift Dr. Lu had given me. I smiled, walked over to the chair, and sat down to open it.
Inside was a note and a delicate bracelet. The note read: "Qinâwhatever problems you face, I hope you can overcome them. đ"
I gently took the bracelet out and slipped it onto my wrist. It fit perfectlyâalmost as if he knew my exact wrist size. I felt a flutter in my chest. Smiling, I snapped a photo of it and posted it on my Moments.

Meanwhile, at Dr. Lu's homeâŠ
He had just reached his front door when his phone buzzed. Glancing at the screen, he saw the photo I had posted. A smile spread across his face and he stood there, grinning like a fool, without even stepping inside.
Just then, his mother opened the door to check if he had arrived. She found him standing there, still outside, staring at his phone with a dreamy look.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Do you not wish to come inside?"
Dr. Lu looked up, a little startled. "Maa~ I just parked and was about to come in," he said, slipping his phone into his pocket.
She eyed him suspiciously but didn't push it. "Come inside," she said and turned around.
As they entered, she watched him kick off his shoes and head straight to his bedroomâwithout his usual grumbling or sighing. Her eyes widened, and she immediately turned to call her husband.
"Hey~ I think our son has changed!" she whispered dramatically.
Her husband, still scrolling on his phone, replied nonchalantly, "What's there to be shocked about? If he didn't change, that would be shocking."
She gave him a firm slap on the leg and scolded, "Are you even listening properly?"
He chuckled. "I am! I'll ask him at dinner."

Later that night, at dinner, Dr. Lu was eating quietlyâbut with a visible smile on his face.
His mother nudged her husband under the table, urging him to speak. The man cleared his throat.
"Hey, Luâwhy are you smiling? Is it because of the food your mom made?"
Before Dr. Lu could reply, his mother hit her husband's leg again and glared. She turned to her son. "Lu, what's going on? Why are you smiling so much?"
Dr. Lu looked up, trying to play it cool. "I'm always like this, Mother."
His parents blinked at him in disbelief.
His father leaned forward. "But usually, the moment you enter the house, you head straight for the bathroom to wash up. Today you went to your room first, and you're smiling during dinner. Something's definitely changed. Did anything happen at the hospital?"
Dr. Lu waved it off. "No, nothing happened. Father, why are you asking such unnecessary questions?"
His father laughed. "Fine, fine. My bad. It's your mother's fault anyway."
His mother gave him a death glare, but then turned to her son with a sparkle in her eyes.
"Lu⊠tell me honestlyâdo you like someone?"
Dr. Lu choked on his food.
His mother clapped her hands in glee like she had just scored a perfect 100 on an exam. Meanwhile, his father winced from the slap his wife had just given him in excitement.
"Who is she?" she pressed eagerly. "Is she working at your hospital?"
Dr. Lu looked helplessly between his parents, caught like a deer in headlights as they bombarded him with questions.
