Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Satoru Gojo

Mei Mei looked down at the small boy sitting on the ground. Judging by his exhausted state and the residual cursed energy still lingering on him, as unbelievable as it seemed, that cursed spirit must have been the one he had just exorcised.

Still, to be one hundred percent sure, Mei Mei asked him. After all, it was quite extraordinary for such a small child to have defeated a Grade 1—almost Special Grade—cursed spirit. And the cursed energy explosion that had drawn her here was terrifying.

However, the young and handsome boy said nothing, only staring at her. Mei Mei sighed, pressing her hand to her forehead. She really had little experience dealing with such small children, especially one who was wary of her.

Gathering herself, she gave a kind and gentle smile and crouched down slightly, saying to Kamihara:

"Don't be afraid. I'm a jujutsu sorcerer—I specialize in dealing with these monsters. You can think of me like a police officer! Now, little one, can you tell me what happened here?"

"Jujutsu sorcerer…"

It seemed as if something struck Kamihara. He started trying to remember, and after a flash of realization, he recalled.

Jujutsu sorcerers! The group of people in Jujutsu Kaisen. In that world, negative human emotions give birth to curses and cursed spirits, while those born with innate techniques who can control their own cursed energy are called jujutsu sorcerers. They are responsible for eliminating cursed spirits.

Kamihara's mind quickly raced through the anime series. In his previous life, he hadn't known much about it—just enough to have watched the show. Characters and scenes came flooding through his memory…

Right! Mei Mei! That pretty white-haired female character. No wonder she looked familiar. So… he had been reincarnated into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen! His "psychic power" was actually cursed energy. Did that mean he was exceptionally gifted?

The Jujutsu Kaisen series had become popular in his previous life, though he rarely read manga and only watched some of the anime episodes online—and never finished them.

Kamihara's thoughts were chaotic, but seeing no response from him, Mei Mei's smile nearly froze. Just as she was about to try another approach, the boy finally spoke.

"My name is Kamihara. A big monster ate Koharu-oneechan, so I killed it."

Following Kamihara's finger, Mei Mei saw Koharu Kyoko lying on the ground. She went over to check and said, "She's just unconscious, not seriously injured. The curse's damage isn't deep, but she'll need a long time to recover."

She then looked back at Kamihara, relieved. Curiosity and a desire to investigate filled her heart, so she gently lifted him up.

"Alright, I'll trust you for now. You got rid of the big one, and I've cleared out the smaller ones. Let's get out of here. Did you see any other survivors?"

Kamihara told her about two other children hiding nearby. Mei Mei carried him with one hand and the unconscious Koharu with the other, calmly walking out.

They passed through a curtain-like barrier—if she remembered correctly, it was called a "tally," a protective barrier jujutsu sorcerers use to isolate an area during missions.

They were placed in a black car. Mei Mei re-entered the tally and soon came back out with the two frightened but mostly stable children.

Then Mei Mei pulled Kamihara aside. After resting a bit, he looked much better. With a curious expression, Mei Mei said, "Someone will be here soon to handle the follow-up. Can you tell your sister in detail what happened?"

After a moment of thought, Kamihara selectively recounted the events. Now that he confirmed this was the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, he had a new goal: to somehow enroll in Jujutsu High!

He had no family and knew that the jujutsu profession was inherited. No matter how talented he was, learning on his own wouldn't get him far. Besides, there was the strongest jujutsu sorcerer alive—Satoru Gojo!

Enroll in Jujutsu High, train under Gojo, and strengthen himself! With a plan set, Kamihara looked at Mei Mei—also a Jujutsu High graduate and a senior under Gojo—and didn't refuse her request.

After all, once he described what happened, Kamihara was sure that even if he wasn't the best, he was definitely gifted enough to attract attention and prepare to enter the jujutsu world.

The vast and grand world was finally revealing itself, and how could a gifted boy like Kamihara refuse?

After hearing his somewhat stumbling story, Mei Mei's expression was a mix of shock and admiration. She patted Kamihara's head: "There are some snacks in the car. The police and medical staff will be here soon, so just wait a bit."

Kamihara sat in the car, sharing snacks with Kumiko, who was a bit hungry after escaping danger. Mei Mei stood nearby, on the phone.

"Gojo, you wouldn't believe it—there was a child who exorcised a cursed spirit inside that semi-formed domain."

Mei Mei spoke with a strange smile. After the other side responded, she added, "Yes, he must have awakened a technique. He seems to have grasped some basic control over cursed energy, and his power is frighteningly vast…"

"Alright, finish up there and come over quickly…"

Soon, sirens wailed as police and ambulances arrived. Koharu and the children were taken away. The officers spoke briefly with Mei Mei before heading into the now invisible welfare center.

Mei Mei got into the car. Kamihara glanced at her, then looked out the window. Neither spoke; the two fell into a quiet, comfortable silence.

Suddenly, Kamihara's eyes caught someone approaching. His eyes widened slightly as he studied the figure: white hair styled upward, tall and slender, dressed in a black outfit similar in style to Mei Mei's, with sharp features partially obscured by layered bandages covering his eyes.

Satoru Gojo! The strongest in the jujutsu world and one of the main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen. Watching Gojo walk over, Mei Mei opened the car door and gestured for Kamihara to get out.

Gojo approached with his hands in his pockets, slightly bowing as he examined Kamihara. Kamihara looked at the bandages covering Gojo's eyes, knowing that the fabric could not block his gaze.

Gojo straightened and stroked his chin, saying, "Interesting. Your name's Kamihara, right? You do indeed have immense cursed energy, and you've self-taught techniques to control it and use simple methods. Not bad…"

"Can I see your technique?"

Kamihara looked puzzled: "What's a technique? You mean my superpower?"

Gojo smiled and snapped his fingers: "Exactly! Sense that innate thing inside you and show it to me."

He removed the bandages, revealing his legendary blue eyes—the Six Eyes—capable of seeing the flow of cursed energy and even the information of techniques.

Under those blue eyes, Kamihara took a deep breath and activated his ability—no, his technique.

Everything around seemed to slow down. Kamihara lifted his head and saw Gojo still observing him, eyes showing surprise.

As Kamihara moved around, Gojo's gaze never left him. It was the first time Kamihara had seen someone keep up with him in this state.

Nearby, Mei Mei looked a little envious. After Kamihara finished, she asked curiously, "So? Gojo, is his technique speeding up his movements? I couldn't really see it clearly."

Gojo closed his eyes and thought. "No, it's not just simple acceleration. I'm not 100% sure yet, but… it's very interesting."

Mei Mei grew even more curious. Few things could catch Gojo's interest like this. Coupled with Kamihara's vast cursed energy and unknown technique, perhaps… he could become another Special Grade in the future?

Gojo's expression changed, then he smiled brightly and crouched down, speaking in a cheerful and tempting tone:

"Kamihara… you've already awakened your technique. You're no longer an ordinary person! You, me, and this sister here—we're all the same kind. We have a school that accepts people like you."

"There are lots of fun things there, and they'll teach you how to use your 'superpower.' How about joining us?"

Mei Mei sighed and rubbed her forehead: "Gojo, can you stop acting like you're kidnapping a kid? Also… the school doesn't accept kids that young."

Gojo stroked his chin: "He's awakened his technique. Staying outside isn't safe. If curse users find him, it won't just be him—the whole welfare center will be in danger."

He frowned looking at Kamihara's face, knowing the boy could understand him. Kamihara then asked worriedly, "What should I do?"

Gojo laughed heartily, waving his hand: "Relax! You get it. I'll find someone to arrange adoption paperwork for you. The Gojo family can easily support a kid."

He re-tied the bandages, adding, "We can't stay here forever. This place isn't safe for you. How about I take you somewhere else?"

When Kamihara nodded, Gojo suddenly bent down, wearing a mischievous grin: "Actually, we're bad guys kidnapping you!"

Kamihara showed no panic—only a slightly disdainful look. Gojo wasn't embarrassed and laughed loudly.

Mei Mei still smiled, thinking Gojo's mischievous personality was like a child's in some ways.

Gojo placed his hand gently on Kamihara's neck without grabbing, lifting him firmly.

"Let's go!"

He said this to Mei Mei, who reminded him, "Don't forg

et my reward." Kamihara felt the scenery shift so fast he lost track, and the next moment, he was somewhere unfamiliar.
