The fight dragged on for another minute.
Steel clashed against claw, lightning flashed through the air, and the ground beneath them cracked from the force of repeated impacts.
But the outcome was becoming clear.
Lexton knew it.
Alice knew it.
Julies knew it.
The Ravran demon staggered back, his breathing growing heavier with each passing second. One of his wings hung at an awkward angle, and the stump where his horn had been severed still bled dark crimson onto the snow.
His eyes darted between the two humans standing before him.
Both of them were stronger then he expected.
"…Tch."
Lexton clicked his tongue.
This was no longer a battle he could win.
If he continued fighting here, he would die.
And dying here would accomplish nothing.
'I need to retreat,' he thought grimly. 'Regroup. Return with stronger Ravran forces.'
His wings snapped open.
The sudden gust of wind scattered snow in every direction.
