"Nice!" Qingwu snapped his fingers when Zubat successfully hypnotized Magcargo in less than ten seconds.

"Good job, Zubat! You truly are Daddy's prettiest little one. Oh, and Aron, you too! You're also Daddy's prettiest little one!" Qingwu hastily added, seeing Aron looking at him with wide eyes.

Qingwu gradually realized that those Magcargo weren't trying to stay awake, but were simply unable to sleep because of the snoring Magcargo next to them. The Hypnosis, which originally had only a 60% chance of success, achieved a 100% success rate due to the cooperation of these severely insomniac patients.

"Finally, they're all asleep. It's time for me to collect my reward." Qingwu listened to the snoring echoing throughout the cave, rising and falling like a turbulent tide, each higher than the last. Qingwu nodded with satisfaction, a slight curve appearing at the corner of his mouth.

Now that the Magcargo were all asleep, it was time to act. Aron removed the rocks that had been used to conceal their figures. Qingwu recalled Aron to its Poké Ball. He flicked a finger at Zubat, and a blue Energy Cube dropped into Zubat's mouth.

"Rest for a bit, Zubat, you worked hard too." Hypnosis was a Psychic-type move, and it consumed a lot of mental energy. Not to mention hypnotizing so many Magcargo; it definitely required a lot of mental power to complete. Qingwu's blue Energy Cube was specifically for replenishing Zubat's mental energy.

Zubat rested on Qingwu's shoulder for a while. Qingwu continuously stroked Zubat's head, which was soft and smooth. After resting for a moment, Zubat spread its wings and flew Qingwu directly across the lava pool, reaching the towering volcanic rock pillar.

At the edge of the rock pillar, the sulfurous smell became even stronger. Qingwu even felt nauseous and dizzy. He knew this was due to toxic gases emitted by the magma. He quickly pulled out a shiny silver gas mask from his spatial backpack and put it on. Qingwu pressed a button on the gas mask, and immediately, a small motor sound could be heard as clean, fresh air was pumped into the mask. Qingwu breathed deeply for a while until the nauseating and dizzy feeling gradually disappeared.

Qingwu approached the nest where the Fire-type Pokémon eggs were placed and saw just how many Pokémon eggs there were. A whole row of rock pillars was covered in Pokémon eggs, at least a thousand of them. However, it was evident that these Pokémon eggs were placed carelessly. Some eggs were even at risk of falling into the scorching magma below. Or, it was very likely that when the Pokémon hatched, they would directly fall into the magma.

However, since most of the eggs here were Slugma eggs, it didn't matter. After all, Slugma were Pokémon that could live in magma. If these Pokémon eggs hatched successfully, this volcano would be plagued by Slugma. Due to laziness, these Magcargo would gather these Pokémon eggs together for incubation. As for when the Pokémon would hatch, or whether the incubation temperature was sufficient, these were not questions that these single-celled organisms would ponder.

Qingwu felt that even if he directly flew into the nest, those Magcargo wouldn't care. After all, the population base of Slugma and Magcargo on this volcano was simply too large, severely affecting the surrounding ecosystem.

Seeing so many Pokémon eggs, Qingwu immediately activated the system scan, scanning all the Pokémon eggs. Countless data flashed by. Indeed, there were not only Slugma but also other Fire-type Pokémon eggs that inhabited volcanoes. When these Pokémon eggs were seen by passing Magcargo, if there were no Pokémon guarding the nest, they would be brought here by Magcargo for unified incubation.

Qingwu's original goal was not to obtain Slugma, but other Fire-type Pokémon. So, Qingwu felt nothing facing most of the red-quality Pokémon eggs. He directly skipped any orange-quality Pokémon eggs if they were Slugma. Yellow-quality Pokémon eggs appeared sporadically, but compared to the massive base number, they were not worth mentioning.

A moment later, after all the data had been scanned, Qingwu was surprised to discover that there were Charmander eggs among them. Qingwu scanned a total of one thousand one hundred and fifty-five Pokémon eggs, of which 99% were Slugma eggs. Among these thousand-plus eggs, there were only 5 yellow-quality and 30 orange-quality Pokémon eggs. Among them were one Charmander, two Growlithe, and two Ponyta eggs. This meant that the Slugma population was truly unremarkable; not even the yellow-quality eggs belonged to Slugma.

Qingwu had conducted research on Pokémon genetics. As the saying goes, "a dragon begets a dragon, a tiger begets a tiger, and a mouse's child can dig holes." Generally, a Pokémon's offspring will have the same quality as its parents. If a special exception occurs, the child's quality might differ from its parents by one rank, possibly being one rank higher. For example, if both parents are yellow-quality, their offspring will generally be yellow-quality or lower.

When special circumstances arise, such as the incubation location or the combination of hidden genes, a green-quality child might appear. If the parents have different qualities, various situations can arise, but the common situation is that the parent with good quality might be dragged down by the other half, resulting in offspring that are usually one rank lower. Therefore, Team Rocket also tries to pair Pokémon of the same quality to reduce the production of more interfering factors.

"It's a pity about this yellow-quality Charmander," Qingwu shook his head. If it were a green-quality Charmander, Qingwu would undoubtedly hatch and train it. If a yellow-quality Pokémon truly wanted to advance to green-quality, the materials needed for quality-enhancing potions would be sky-high.

While sighing, Qingwu placed the yellow-quality Pokémon eggs into his spatial backpack. Since the bracelet couldn't store living creatures, Qingwu wished he could put the Pokémon eggs into the bracelet.

"Squeak squeak!" Zubat seemed to have made another discovery. It found an orange-red Pokémon egg that had fallen off the rock pillar and was stuck on the side of it, less than 2 meters from the magma. Qingwu casually used a scan. Just as he was about to leave, his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Zubat, you really are my lucky star!" Qingwu said happily.
