Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: Visit (Part 3)

Suddenly, she felt a burning heat on her arm, and a faint blue light shone through her delicate skin.

"Dan, Dandel..." The man who had been so arrogant moments ago suddenly collapsed to the ground, lying motionless.

At the same time, the dark figure that had been crouched in the corner finally stirred.

"Blood Witch, Blood Witch! Forgive me for offending you! I was blind not to recognize you. I deserve to die!" The vampire spoke, then used his sharp nails to scratch his face, causing murky blue blood to seep out from his deathly pale skin.

"Get out! Just leave, and I won't pursue this further! Leave this place now!" Before Ivina could recover from her shock, the vampire scrambled away, rolling and crawling.

"So you are indeed the Blood Witch?" A cold voice came from the corner of the wall, or rather, a voice devoid of any strength or inflection.

"Is it Xiasang? I'm Ivina. Turn your face so I can see you clearly." Ivina forced herself to calm her voice, attempting to approach the figure she feared.

"Hmph, don't come any closer. My current appearance might frighten you, noble blood witch."

"I don't understand your words, but I came here today just to ask about your situation. Have you been mistreated, or perhaps, here…" Ivina began to notice the surroundings of the cell.

This dilapidated room was almost completely sealed off, except for a small window letting in the night sky. Some ragged cotton scraps served as a bed, and dirty stone slabs barely functioned as tables and chairs. The sewage ditches on all sides were teeming with bloodsucking worms. This reminded her of the scene when she first arrived in Niditra.

No, this place was even worse.

"There's no need to trouble yourself. If you truly care about me, leave now. I just want… to rest alone."

"Xia Sang… have you suffered a lot of injustices? Why not tell me about it? I'll do my best to help you." For some reason, she could understand her feelings.

Lonely, helpless... Even now, she still felt that way. Except that, after meeting Luo, she had come to understand what it meant to be hurt...

"Hurt?!!" Suddenly, Xia Sang rose from the damp corner and charged at the unsuspecting Ivina. In the next moment, her fingers had already sunk deeply into Ivina's neck. "Then I'll tell you why! That night, we were equally guilty, yet I was harshly punished and imprisoned, while you were gently embraced by him and publicly pardoned! Why could he be so biased?" Xia Sang's eyes were fixed on her, her hands tightening their grip, but her gaze had already grown unfocused.

He was high above everyone else, never concerned with trivial matters, and certainly wouldn't break his principles or fairness for a woman. This... didn't seem like him at all...

"Cough, cough, let go... Xia Sang," she gasped, nearly suffocating as the force on her neck made her feel Xia Sang's hatred.

"Do you think staying by his side will earn you his true love?" Xia Sang said coldly. "I've told you, you've never truly understood him. That utterly cruel, bloodthirsty man is a conqueror of women. He doesn't cherish the love of any woman he obtains... Ivina, you won't be an exception either!" Xia Sang twisted her face, almost gloating as she declared.

Why did she say that... What kind of person is Luo, after all? Why does it seem like every vampire here understands him better than she does…

[At least, you don't have any feelings for Duke Dandel, do you? May I… dare to make such a bold guess?]

Why did Pu Jiao ask such a question? Was it because she never understood him… so she couldn't love him?

Her head was spinning and throbbing, as if she couldn't think properly due to oxygen deprivation.

"Ivina, do you want to see what that gentle man you speak of has done to me?" A wicked smile flashed across Xia Sang's face.

Ivina's eyes flickered with panic as she tried to pry Xia Sang's hands apart.

Use this to make you utterly despair!

  Naive Ivina.
