Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: New Yorkers and Their Daily Grind

Peter plummeted towards the streets of Super New York like a freshly launched hell-driver. The system built into his suit immediately reported on the current crime situation in New York, and Peter instantly understood why violent crime had escalated in New York over the past two days—because in his absence, a new supervillain had emerged.

A metal behemoth, framed like a Ferris wheel, over five meters tall, was rampaging through the streets of New York. This giant wheel was equipped with machine guns and mechanical claws on both sides. It ruthlessly crushed all vehicles in its path. Drivers waiting at red lights saw this thing hurtling towards them and scrambled out of their cars, fleeing.

"What in the world is that?"

"Jackson Weele's device. Jackson Weele, former sales manager at Oscorp, faced charges of embezzlement and misappropriation. He chose to infiltrate the company to destroy accounting records, was discovered, and subsequently fired. It's speculated his purpose is to retaliate against Oscorp Industries."

"Who builds a 'Big Wheel' just because their name sounds like 'Weele'?"

Peter grumbled, spreading his arms and gliding closer to the contraption using his web-wings. At the same time, he checked what the Avengers were up to: the answer was most of them were in Arizona today escorting Abomination to the newly completed Raft prison. The only Avengers left in New York were Ant-Man and Wasp.

They probably weren't a match for this giant wheel, and he hadn't seen them, no idea what they were busy with.

The NYPD, attempting to stop this thing from atop Manhattan's buildings, were desperate. You could ask them to deal with Shocker or Chameleon, and they'd have some hope, at least they looked relatively normal. But a two-story wheel with machine guns and mechanical claws? How do you fight that? This thing is literally a walking steel coil!

Ant-Man grew into a giant, tens of meters tall, trying to block the giant wheel with his hand. The wheel, in turn, grabbed cars from the road with its mechanical arm and hurled them at the giant's head, while its machine guns fiercely raked the giant.

These attacks, of course, were useless against the giant. His suit and the amplified strength from his giant-size were enough to block them. But then, a shocking scene unfolded. As the giant reached out, the Ferris wheel-like contraption, at an incredibly high rotation speed, vigorously rubbed against the giant's palm, then accelerated. The massive wheel slammed directly into the giant's face, then accelerated again, bouncing away like a yo-yo and changing its path to continue its rampage.

Peter, who had already landed near Oscorp Tower, couldn't help but complain.

"Great. Shocker, Mysterio, Big Wheel. Am I going to be solving problems the Avengers can't handle every week now?"

"Hey, Spider-Man, glad to see you're in good health." Janet Van Dyne, the Wasp,'s voice came through the comms. At the weekend press conference, besides announcing Spider-Man and Black Panther joining the Avengers, Wasp had also officially become a full member. Of course, she was already the Avengers' manager, so her membership didn't really change much.

"I've reached Oscorp Tower. Can your suit emit Pym Particles?"

Peter, rushing from Oscorp Tower to the scene, looked at the smoke-filled street. Facing a huge, fast-moving wheel, his best opponents would be Iron Man or Hulk, who could deal with it instantly. But unfortunately, both of them were escorting Abomination, so he had to figure something out himself.

"Hold on, I'll ask Hank."

"I'm on the comms." Ant-Man sighed, shrinking back to normal size as he communicated with Peter: "Janet has Pym Particle darts she can throw. I know what you're planning, but it might not work... The probability of your reinforced webs stopping it is only about 79.6%."

"Then it's not 'only,' Hank."

Wasp was clearly very pleased with the plan and spotted Peter swinging through the city: "I'm here, little spider, ready."

"Always ready."

Reinforced webs formed a dense series of barriers at the intersection, and the Big Wheel paid them no mind. Instead, it accelerated and began to burst through these giant webs. The moment it made contact, Pym Particles enlarged all these webs, turning the sticky white webs into giant solid glue that almost blocked the entire street. The Big Wheel certainly struggled to push through, and its speed involuntarily dropped.

So the Big Wheel chose to reverse, but behind it was also filled with webs. So, it turned 90 degrees and accelerated towards a Manhattan skyscraper. With only a dozen meters of acceleration, the Big Wheel slammed into the building! It didn't penetrate the building! It started running up the building's exterior!

"How can it run on a wall?! That defies the laws of physics!"

Ant-Man and Wasp, listening to Spider-Man, fell silent. It seemed that in New York, you were the least qualified person to say that.

However, Spider-Man didn't choose to sit idly by. His web stuck to the Big Wheel's machine gun mount, trying to pull it off the wall, but the Big Wheel had already launched itself into the sky and landed on the street on the other side of the building, continuing its furious rampage towards Oscorp Technologies. As for Peter, he tried to shoot webs from his other hand to the road to increase resistance, but this thing was just an oversized steel coil with an engine, and he alone couldn't stop it.

Fortunately, Peter wasn't alone.

The Big Wheel's machine guns aimed at him, but Peter's spider-sense didn't go off. Sure enough, another web descended from above, stuck to the machine gun barrel, and with a powerful tug, ripped the entire machine gun off. Cindy, doing the same to the other machine gun, then webbed the other machine gun turret. Together with Peter, they pulled hard on the Big Wheel.

The high-speed rotating wheel finally stopped moving, leaving deep gouges on the road as it continued to accelerate. At this moment, Ant-Man, who had shrunk to ant-size and was flying on a flying ant, enlarged himself again, becoming Giant-Man. He stretched out his hands and grabbed the webs fired by the two spiders, pulling with them, finally bringing the Big Wheel to a halt on the road. With the fall of this small Ferris wheel, another supervillain (or was it?) was defeated by the Avengers.

"The Weele was stopped by the Parker. Everyone's happy."

Spider-Man finished, looking at his silent teammates, and shrugged.

"What, not funny? I thought it was pretty good."
