Rylie and Olive exchanged knowing glances as they watched Kimi weave through the crowded club toward the back corner, her phone pressed against her ear.
"So what do you think? Does she actually have someone special?" Olive leaned closer, her voice barely audible over the pounding music.
Rylie took a slow sip of her cocktail, her eyes never leaving Kimi's retreating figure. "The way she's acting? Definitely. Look how she lights up when that phone rings."
Olive nodded thoughtfully, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Good for her. After everything she's been through, she deserves to find someone who actually cares about her."
Meanwhile, Kimi navigated through the maze of bodies until she reached the quieter area near the restrooms. The bass still thumped through the walls, but at least she could hear herself think. She slipped into the ladies' room, grateful for the relative silence.
Her phone buzzed again in her palm. Taking a steadying breath, she answered.
"Hello?"
