Alvin's jaw clenched tight when Rylie spoke about Kolton with such venom. The disrespect cut deep. Kolton was his Alpha, his leader, and no one had the right to tear him down like that.
He thrust his finger toward her, his voice dropping to a dangerous growl.
"Not even my own sister gets to trash him like that. So back off."
The warning sliced through the air between them. Rylie's eyes tracked from his pointed finger to his hardened face, unflinching.
"Your precious friend destroyed my best friend. You want me to sing his praises after what he did to her? Hell, I'm shocked you're not beating sense into him for what he put your sister through."
Alvin moved closer, his presence suddenly menacing.
"Keep running that mouth and I'll find a way to shut it for you."
Rylie's breath caught, but she held her ground, chin raised defiantly.
