The lecture hall fell into dead silence as Professor unleashed his fury on a trembling student in the front row. His voice echoed off the walls, sharp and unforgiving.
Kimi ducked behind her textbook, pressing the pages close to her face. The last thing she needed was to catch the professor's attention and become his next victim. Her heart hammered against her ribs as she tried to make herself invisible.
A soft chuckle from beside her made her freeze.
She glanced sideways at Logan, who sat relaxed in his chair, completely unbothered by the chaos unfolding before them.
"What could possibly be amusing right now?" she whispered through gritted teeth.
"Why are you cowering like that, Kimi?" His voice carried a gentleness that always surprised her.
