When Kolton discovered Kimi collapsed on the storeroom floor, panic seized his chest like a vice.
"What the hell happened to your wolf?" he demanded, dropping to his knees beside her motionless form. His palm pressed against her pale cheek, but she remained completely unresponsive.
His eyes darted to the sealed door behind him. "Shit!"
Trapped in this cramped space with an unconscious girl and no way to call for help, Kolton felt his composure cracking. He carefully lowered her head to the cold floor and shot to his feet.
"I need to get us out of here," he muttered, stalking toward the door with renewed determination.
Something primal had awakened inside him. His pulse hammered against his throat while his wolf clawed at his consciousness, radiating an unfamiliar protective fury. The beast within him had never reacted this intensely to anyone before.
