Kolton's intense stare had been locked on Kimi and Alvin for what felt like an eternity.
"Kolton, why are you watching them like that? You're making them uncomfortable," Brennan observed, following his friend's unwavering gaze.
The sight of Kimi growing increasingly close to Alvin twisted something deep in Kolton's chest. What made it worse was Alvin's evasive response the previous night when Kolton had pressed him about their conversation. Alvin had brushed it off as nothing important, but Kolton could sense there was much more beneath the surface.
Something was definitely happening between them, and Alvin was deliberately keeping him in the dark.
"Doesn't it strike you as odd how much that guy talks to the bookworm?" Kolton asked his group, his voice carrying an edge.
"You know Alvin better than anyone. He doesn't waste words on meaningless chatter. If he's talking to her, there's definitely a purpose," Pierce reasoned, studying the pair across the courtyard.
