Lin Xian pulled a card from his deck. He truly hadn't expected his first opponent to be You Feng.
"I'll Set a monster in face-down Defense Position and then Set one card before ending my turn." Lin Xian made his choice quickly. Having spent a considerable amount of time together, he understood You Feng's temperament well.
"My turn! I draw!" You Feng pulled a card.
"From my hand, I Set a monster in Defense Position and Set one card. Turn end!" You Feng knew clearly that since both sides were using Starter Decks, neither would be particularly exceptional. At the start, they would both look to use defense as a substitute for offense. Turns where someone could achieve a one-turn kill essentially didn't exist.
Unless one had a god-tier opening hand, it was nearly impossible. Furthermore, a Fiend Deck focused primarily on burn damage; it wasn't built for instant kills.
Currently, they were in a Battle Royale. Life wasn't just about a single duel, so an all-out blitz was risky. A Fiend Deck could afford to play it slow and steady!
"You Feng, it's rare to see you not being the one to initiate the attack," Lin Xian said with a chuckle.
"Sometimes, defense is the best offense," You Feng replied unhurriedly.
"My turn! I draw! From my hand, I summon a monster! Vampire Sorcerer!" Lin Xian gave a mischievous grin and swept his hand forward.
A vampire wearing a magician's hat appeared on the field, gripping a scepter. His deathly pale face added a layer of gloom to the surroundings as his sharp finger pointed directly at You Feng.

"Oh? A Zombie Deck?" You Feng raised an eyebrow. He hadn't expected his Fiends to run into Lin Xian's Zombies.
"Heh, it's too early to be surprised. Vampire Sorcerer, attack You Feng's face-down Defense Position monster!" Lin Xian pointed his finger forward.
Vampire Sorcerer leaped into the air. With a wave of his hand, he channeled a dark light through his scepter and swung it down with force. The light flickered as it forced the face-down monster to reveal itself.
Boom!
"It's a Giant Germ?!" Lin Xian's heart skipped a beat when he saw the card. That was a troublesome one.
"I activate the effect of Giant Germ! When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the GY, it inflicts 500 LP damage to the opponent! Furthermore, I can Special Summon up to two more Giant Germs from my deck to the field!"
-500 LP! Lin Xian's Life Points dropped to 7500.
"Come forth, my partners! Giant Germ, Special Summoned in Defense Position!" You Feng's eyes narrowed as he swept his hand. Two more Giant Germs instantly appeared on the field.
They looked like spheres made of tangled needles, emitting a poisonous gas that made it impossible for anyone to get close.
"Turn end!" Lin Xian blinked, seemingly guessing that You Feng was plotting something.
"My turn! I draw!" You Feng's eyes locked onto the card he had just drawn. A glint of light flashed in his gaze as a smirk played on his lips.
Lin Xian's brow furrowed. Had he drawn something good?
"I Tribute my two Giant Germs! I Tribute Summon from my hand! Even Fiends have those who are called gods! Come forth! Darkness Destroyer!!" You Feng shouted as a powerful aura suddenly exploded.
The two Giant Germs vanished, replaced by a grayish-black behemoth that descended from the sky. Its foot slammed onto the ground, causing the earth to crack. Its sharp white claws were filled with an endless destructive force.

*DARK / Level 7 / Fiend*
*ATK 2300 / DEF 1800*
"Darkness Destroyer! Attack Vampire Sorcerer!!" You Feng barked, pointing forward.
Roar!
Darkness Destroyer let out a terrifying howl and swung its white claws, tearing Vampire Sorcerer in half on the spot!
-800 LP. Lin Xian was left with 6700 Life Points.
As Lin Xian gritted his teeth and endured the damage, he shouted, "I activate the effect of Vampire Sorcerer! When this card is sent to the GY by the opponent, I can add one 'Vampire' monster or one 'Vampire' Spell or Trap from my deck to my hand!"
"The card I'm adding is Vampire's Curse!!"
"Hmph, so it's that card? But my Darkness Destroyer's attack isn't over yet. This card can attack twice in a single Battle Phase! Darkness Destroyer, attack his face-down Defense Position monster!" You Feng's rhythm didn't falter for a second.
"Heh! You fell for it!" Lin Xian suddenly laughed.
